If the show was a love letter to south California like she says, then will it ever be appropriate to air and launch a career, when footage is all pre fire?
In 6 weeks, there won’t be any buildings rebuilt, people still battling with insurers ( which I’ve read can take years), there will be a massive blame game of who is responsible, Trump will be president and twisting the knife, a more accurate picture as to how many lives have been lost and there could potentially still be small fires to deal with if the dry weather continues.
The situation may not be the emergency it is now, but LA will still be deep in the problems created by these fires.
So while yes, the immediate aftermath will be over. It’s just at another stage of disaster management.
I think there’s a possibly it could be shelved. I’m not sure Meghan will be able to create the joyful build up for her insta and convince her celeb friends to help her out too in a little over 4 weeks. To be doing promo in 4/5 weeks time. We will just be reminded that she cancelled because of the fires. The show is now linked to the terrible time of the fires.
Maybe NF would give her another go at a cooking show. Look at the lessons learned- keep it simple, no celeb friends, use a kitchen from home (she has a summer house on the property, one could be built there), hold a knife properly, don’t spend $$$s on flowers, use her own lemon orchard, less polished, no 2010s vibe clothing and flower arranging, less manically joyful. I also think there is a possibility that Lili and Mindys daughter could make an appearance at the children’s tea party (hidden of course) but I could see that going down badly too, so maybe keep the kids out if it.
A cooking show isn’t the worst idea in the world for Meghan…..but the one they came up with is pretty bad, even without the additional distribution of the fires.
