Indeed - "reign of evil" for goodness sake 🤪

Funny how it's always those on one side of the fence calling out critics of H&M as being full of hate - but I don't think I've seen anyone refer to Meghan as a hag, or say that they're evil...

Agree - we who are critical of H&M tend to focus on their behavior, and are open about that being the focus of our animus.

Mylovelygreendress · 12/01/2025 21:34

If it’s delayed until March it could also be the 1 year anniversary of the launch of ARO !

Choux · 12/01/2025 21:36

The postponement is currently the third story on the Sky news site and the 8th story on BBC but isn't mentioned anywhere on CNN.

Serenster · 12/01/2025 22:04

I'm thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.

I think that’s a good statement - short and to the point. It would have been a bit tricky to draft too, given Netflix and the Sussexes (in)famously went ahead with the Oprah interview when Prince Phillip was hospitalised and clearly nearing he end of his life.

elessar · 12/01/2025 22:13

I can understand why they have decided to postpone, and theoretically March is a better time to release - but I also think it will be hard to maintain hype and momentum for another couple of months. They're really going to have to think about their strategy if they want to keep the show in peoples' minds.

She's got a lot of critique already on the trailer but at least people were talking about it - it would have drawn curiosity views at least. A lot of things can happen between now and March and trying to keep that same level of interest will be tough - I can't particularly imagine Netflix putting a lot of effort in to keep it front of mind.

That said, it would probably have been worse reputation wise for the launch to go ahead on the 15th - a bit damned if you do, damned if you don't. As I said, I think Netflix have done this more for their own reputation than because they care about the success of the show or the public's perception of Meghan.

elessar · 12/01/2025 22:16

@Serenster good point - I'd forgotten about that!

And The Cut interview was only very shortly before QEII died wasn't it?

I don't think MM cares about other people particularly - the desire for postponement will be about fears for the success of her show and her reputation.

elessar · 12/01/2025 22:17

Although the Oprah interview wasn't Netflix was it?

I can't remember when the H&M documentary aired though.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 12/01/2025 22:25

‘I feel the priorities here are a little mixed up and can’t decide if people are just miserable in their own lives or are so jealous of such a beautiful ambitious caring woman. I would take her hands down over that dreadful hag of an excuse for.a queen. Consort.’

You’re nice. You know that to attack other women in misogynistic and ageist terminology is totally against feminist ideals, and therefore the object of your erroneous loyalty should be nauseated and appalled by your post. Or would she? I wonder.

IAmATorturedPoet · 12/01/2025 22:31

I think a six week delay will be neither here nor there in the grand scheme of things.

It does give her a bit more time and she may decide to put another trailer out and do launch V2 and hope for better reviews.

The new launch date of March 4th is either the day of or day after the Oscars (assuming they go ahead). I don’t know if that’s going to be an issue.

Xag · 12/01/2025 22:39

MissHarlott · 12/01/2025 20:35

I read that Guy had gone to Rainbow Bridge last year, but MM only announced it about 4 days ago: I mean has she only just noticed?

Seems unlikely

He was on their Christmas card

Atlasvue · 12/01/2025 22:41

She needs to reply to the parent office about ARO by then.

So it’s all a bit messy.

I think she was hoping with the new show was out and taking the headlines, ARO would be all forgotten about and we are now all on board with ‘With love, Meghan’

Now we are going to know that they can’t rectify AROs problems and either she will abandon or offer a solution which will be rejected 6 months later.

But this all comes before the tv show now

That was probably done well before Christmas though?

SammyScrounge · 12/01/2025 23:02

The Standard piece is utterly brilliant. 'The symphony of meaningless stares' summed up Meghan entirely!

Or it could actually be because she is very upset about the loss of her dog and the fires in her hometown. Maybe she is an actual decent person that what ur trash of tabloids feed you every single day. Just perhaps she has never harmed you personally and you could give her grace.

elessar · 13/01/2025 00:17

@Alexes1010 so why do you think they went ahead with the Oprah interview knowing Harry's grandfather was dying?

Was that a decent thing to do?

That man has been dying forever and why is it on them to protect a family that never protected them? Is the suffering of a black woman less than others? When the media was driving her to the brink, did anyone in that family tell them to stop and we all know they would have stopped if they were told. Cos the world saw the ban on information when Kate was ill. So don’t give me all that righteousness about a family who can’t protect their weakest links.
they were thrown to the wolves and if you’re honest you will know that. Even when she was the nicest to everyone at the time, they compared her child to a chimpanzee. Miss me with all that caring nonsense. A pregnant woman’s child being compared to an animal.

Everybody was saying it….that she would want it delayed. She’s only delaying the inevitable though.

Surprised NF caved

The fires will be over, but the blame game, insurance woes, rebuilds etc will still be going on.

Interest is going to drop by March. There's too much serious stuff going to be going on in LA for a long time.

Atlasvue · 13/01/2025 00:37

It’s a different world on March too, Tik Tok will most probably be banned in the US.

ARO will be confirmed as pretty much over.

She’s lost the momentum and will have to pay more for additional promotion but papers aren’t going to react much to that, will wait until the show airs.

We don’t don’t know what else is on the slate for March, could be busy

Harrys court case will still be going on

I don't understand how the situation with ARO has arisen.

If you want to start a brand and have a name in mind surely the first thing you do is check - or get one of your staff or legal advisors to check - how you trademark a name and what the requirements are. And then you do the paperwork.

The first thing Meghan seems to have done is make some jam, use her calligraphy skills to do labels and get it on all her friends' socials. Legal schmegal - why bother with all that boring legal stuff. Does she think as a UK Duchess the US laws don't apply to her?

Rhaidimiddim · 12/01/2025 21:27

The Late Queen said Meghan was evil, but I don't think she ever posted on MN.

The Late Queen said Meghan was evil

Can you back that up with a little evidence please?

I have googled but cannot find reasonable proof.

Thedom · 13/01/2025 05:21

I think there will be a massive backlash against the wealthy and celebrities after these fires, you can see it already beginning, the grumbles about excess water use, the complaints that the ordinary people have been forgotten, the criticism of hiring private firefighters. I think those voices will just get louder over the coming months, so not sure how postponing will change anything too much.

However, postponing it, makes it very evident just how desperately they needed this show to work.

Edited

I agree there will be backlash; most of it will be deserved, especially when they start looking into the distribution of water.

But H&M will not fall under that particular umbrella as they live about two hours (depending on traffic) away from Los Angeles.

It would like saying that London and Cheltenham are the same.

Of course, our tabloids will run the stories anyway, and will surely start to link them to LA water shortages and so on. However, their area does not have the same problems as LA.

Atlasvue · 13/01/2025 06:17

Ergh, they already are. ‘Disaster tourists’ is the tag now following them after someone tweeted. It’s the headline on the online DM

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-14276979/Family-Ties-star-Justine-Bateman-labels-Meghan-Markle-Prince-Harry-disaster-tourists-says-appearance-food-bank-meet-LA-fire-victims-photo-op.html

A label not given by the toxic British press, but an LA actress

Justine Bateman labels Meghan Markle and Harry 'disaster tourists'

The Hollywood actress, 58, took to X/ Twitter to blast the couple who were seen in footage dressed in plain clothes and speaking with other helpers.
