"Harry told us he wasn't happy as a royal and he doesn't seem particularly happy as a celebrity. Maybe at some point he'll stop blaming everyone else for his problems and start thinking about what he really wants?"
I recently came across this most excellent speech that JKR made to Harvard graduates in 2008. She really is so wise and witty.
Anyway, with reference to her parents pushing her to do a degree she didn't want to do she had this to say:
"I would like to make it clear, in parenthesis, that I do not blame my parents for their point of view. There is an expiry date on blaming your parents for steering you in the wrong direction; the moment you are old enough to take the wheel, responsibility lies with you."
Wise advice indeed. If only someone had given H&M this advice many years ago. Not that they have a track record for taking advice well.
