I think some people just don't like her and aren't going to change their minds. I don't know why some people get so ANGRY though.

You could say this about the squad who are vile. Some of the comments were wishing cancer and a stroke on people who respectfully disagreed with them.

I thought Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Saxe-Coburg-Gotha) is the 'House of...' name and not necessarily a surname?

When William and Kate took the magazine 'Closer' to court over the topless photos of Kate, French court documents referred to them as 'Monsieur et Madame Mountbatten Windsor'.

Agreed. I held my bump from below, both pregnancies, all the time. It hurt otherwise! Other hand naturally goes on top; also I liked feeling my babies.

It’s such a weird thing to criticise her for when there’s so much else to take shots at, from the sane (she’s quite flexible with the truth, doesn’t ever seem to finish projects just launch them) to the rude (her haters are weirdly obsessed with the size of her feet).

But did you do this? Or rather would you have been focused on doing this if you were followed around by cameras?

I don’t know why she kept wearing that style of coat if it was making her so anxious about her silhouette in press shots.

My heaviest baby was heading for 10lbs at 38 weeks.

I never needed two hands to cradle my bump!

You may not realise, but we are all different. Our bodies, our babies, our pregnancies... it is not scripted how we react to the wonderful life we are bringing into the world.

Exactly, even IF I had felt the need to cling onto my bump, I would have reigned it in at least at work - which Meghan was, when she was on RF duties.

Same as the nauseating hand holding. Be fucking professional!

I think it's demeaning of women actually. When in work mode, you don't shove your pregnancy in other people's faces. Surely there's more about you than being an incubator?!

You may not realise either, but most of us are also capable of conducting ourselves professionally in a work environment.

Can just imagine, being in a meeting with our director, hanging onto my bump for grim death rofl!! I would have been mortified!

Can you imagine, a pregnant woman in the City, desperately clinging onto her bump like that? Some credibility she'd have!!

I know we’re all here too on the internet wasting away our days talking about Meghan, but God, isn’t it shocking that people take the time to make a video compilation of a woman wearing a coat. To prove some weird point. I wouldn’t be famous for all the money in the world.

Serenster · 03/01/2025 21:17

TulipTiptoer · 03/01/2025 20:45

Agree. I probably held mine up! I had huge babies. I felt comfortable doing that, and I would not dream of criciticising a heavily pregnant woman. It's mean.

Just to note, Meghan was also drawing attention to her tummy while on her tour of Australia, when she was less than 10 weeks pregnant (based on Archie’s birth date), and so presumably not so uncomfortable from the actual size of her baby. Just a couple of the many, many examples.

She can hold her hands where she wants, but if she chooses to ensure she’s constantly highlighting her pregnant status for the pictures, it’s hard to find her authentic.

Why on earth would they want a home base in the UK?!
They wanted to escape the toxicity of the British press and have a half decent chance of a bit of privacy re family life by getting out and moving to the US.
I can't imagine them wanting to come back to the toxic British shit show media anything less😂

Don’t be ridiculous. It is not just the Uk press who comments on them, it’s press worldwide who comments negatively about them. This is all part of the squad’s script and it is tiresome

I agree with absolutely everything everything you have said. It was beyond cringe the handholding and knee patting at the UN

Why? It is in response to someone suggesting that Meghan was bump
cradling because her advanced pregnancy was uncomfortable whereas she seems to have bump cradled all the way through. So, performative and not authentic. What’s wrong with finding photos to prove a point?

typo

Doing a google image search is weird? Who knew?

Please don’t call other posters weird.

MakeYourOwnMusicStartYourOwnDance · 03/01/2025 20:45

You never made a show of yourself whilst being pregnant in public?
Easy to say you were the perfect lady "presenting yourself just right" ,🙄 when you're sat anonymously behind a keyboard bitching at someone you clearly think isn't as perfect so is fair game for pregnancy judging.
Much better for all if we don't make it into a competition with each other, pretty sad to pit and compare ourselves against other pregnant women.

Honestly get a grip

Not at all it just illustrates her performance

Also, there’s a lot of gaslighting that goes on on these threads. Telling posters that they aren’t allowed to reach their own conclusions from the public, and very well-documented, statements and actions of one of the most famous women in the world. Telling them that if they form any less than positive views of her they are racist, or obsessed, or strange. Telling them they are weird when they actually bring evidence to show that their views are based on fact not supposition.

Make the argument, don’t smear the people that you don’t agree with.

Nah, it's those who think it's all fun and games to pit themselves as "better at public displays of pregnancy than you!" and those who agree and laugh along or can only say "get a grip" when faced with their shittiness who need to get a grip.

I'm not part of any squad, so if there's a script I'm not aware of it 😕😁
Just saying how I see it.

But it's not views is it? It's opinion

WinterCrow · 03/01/2025 21:41

Those reviews of the Netflix trailer in the MSM like the Telegraph and Guardian aren't very good.

They seem to find the footage released so far to feel dated, inauthentic, derivative and grandiose.

Didn’t call you weird, don’t be disingenuous. I called the behaviour of compiling images of a stranger’s pregnancy weird; as weird as that YouTube upthread with the coat clips.

Please don’t use “gaslighting” when no one’s doing any such thing.
