I did. And I recall there being a plethora of clickbait articles about Meghan which weren’t necessarily negative per se, they were just shoehorning Meghan in some way into a story to promote clicks. Generally in a way that would provoke a strong reaction in the reader, so skewing negative rather than positive - but such is the current nature of the media.
What Meghan didn’t experience however - thankfully, for her - were the news practices that had become illegal, or were no longer adopted, following Leveson. She never had her phone hacked, for example. She never had her car tracked, and her locations plotted. She wasn’t physically harrassed by hordes of photographers, or photographed topless without her consent. All of this is a good thing, and I am am very pleased that these practices are no longer current. But it means you cannot point to what Meghan experienced and compare it to Kate, and cry “racism”. The UK press had changed massively in the period in which they came to pubic attention. Both of them had to endure horrific, misogynistic press coverage. But you compare them - they are apples and oranges.
