Self-serving buffoon.

While it's an utter disgrace his Trade Envoy records are sealed it's good to see snippets emerging anyway.

There's currently a C5 documentary on his financial activities available which doesn't seem to have received much coverage.

Still working through it but the Pitch @ Palace stuff is very interesting.

Is that from the Jes Staley investigation, TheCrowPeople (haven’t read the article, sorry).

Yes, it is. Very interesting stuff.

I'll have a look for that, thanks.

It will surprise no-one that he lied his way through his Newsnight interview - but honestly, what a complete and insufferable moron he is. Galactically stupid.

The Jes Staley bit makes me cross though. Moron though Andrew is, he has no real power and influence. It’s people like Staley who do - CEO of Barclays, a big player both here and in the US. And the only heat he has faced at all about his association with Epstein is from the UK Financial Services Regulator. His Board was very reluctant to sack him. Why hasn’t he, and all the men like him who were Epstein’s close acquaintances been charged?

(we all know why, right…they have actual power)

BobbyBiscuits · 31/01/2025 15:55

We shouldn't leave Andrew 'in peace' at the taxpayers expense.
He should be in a one bedroom flat. And why can't Fergie stop sponging off them and do the same? Disgusting that he can just creep about the place accumulating shame on the RF, and they allow it. At our expense. He's fucking awful as an advert for the RF both nationally and globally. Who as a business would keep someone that did them so much reputational damage?

flippantlydone · 31/01/2025 15:57

Thanks for the links. This is why transparency of the RF is so important (excluding health info ofc). Andrew js a buffoon, but is he the only buffoon? F&M bags of cash spring to mind.

The Times is going in with a bit of a different angle just now, but equally damaging to say the least. I'll post the archive link in a minute so all can read it.

Prince Andrew aide told alleged spy that interview was a disaster

The Duke of York’s senior adviser admitted Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis was ill-advised and said Yang Tengbo had an ‘unusual bond of friendship and trust’ with his boss

To be honest, one is a little more than embarrassed about PA.

That reference to 'Whack-a-Mole' is very applicable to him too!

One tries to get him back in his hole (but not the Royal Lodge, obviously) but he damn well pops his head up somewhere else.

It's all a bit of a nightmare really.

Love this😂 needed a good laugh so thanks!

Serenster · 31/01/2025 16:56

This is fascinating (and hilarious!). But why was Andrew so dedicated to Pitch @ Palace continuing internationally after it had been well and truly scuppered in the UK? What was in it for Andrew? Presumably not nothing…

TheCrowPeople · 31/01/2025 18:16

The opening of that Times article today:

Prince Andrew’s senior adviser, Dominic Hampshire, privately admitted to an alleged Chinese spy that his notorious BBC Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis was “hugely ill-advised and unsuccessful”.

The Duke of York was forced to step down from royal duties after the interview, in which he was questioned about claims by Virginia Giuffre that she was coerced into having sex with him when she was 17.

Andrew has refused to discuss the interview, which was broadcast in November 2019, but documents released on Friday from the immigration case of the alleged Chinese spy Yang Tengbo show that the duke’s aides acknowledged that it was a disaster.

Goodness me. Tangled webs indeed.

According to something I caught the other night Andrew was raking off 2% of the takings with the international version - reason enough for someone like him to have kept it going I'd have thought

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 31/01/2025 18:43

Tangled webs indeed.

It gets murkier and murkier.

Yes, there was an agreement with each pitch @ the palace organisation that they had to give a percentage to Andrew. That was on TV the other night wasn't it.

Quitelikeit · 28/12/2024 20:18

Just leave them in peace

why are you so bothered

fgs

Maybe cause he is a paedophile and we pay for his beyond lavish lifestyle? Guy should be in prison!

TheCrowPeople · 31/01/2025 20:19

I wonder if his tax return is another work of fiction, too.

CathyorClaire · 31/01/2025 20:27

Disgusting that he can just creep about the place accumulating shame on the RF, and they allow it.

They not only allow it, they enable and encourage it.

Willy has him riding shotgun, Anne and Eddie cavort with him at (disgraceful but another thread) shoots, he's atttended a pap heavy pre-coronation dinner, was still parading in his velvet curtains relatively recently and has been allowed up on his hind legs yapping for the cameras at Philip's funeral and then centre stage at the subsequent memorial.

Same two fingers to the plebs Mumy was waving when she publicly supported him.

This is included in the C5 documentary. All occurring under the radar after the much publicised shutting down of the parent arm which is where we were led to believe the skim was focused.

I believe there is now some question over the origin of funds repaying debt in a recently closed company also under Charmless's control too.

Murky, as ever with royal finances doesn't begin to cover it.

Serenster · 31/01/2025 20:46

So what you’re basically saying is that he should be under permanent house arrest and spend no time with any of his his family, or be allowed to do anything enjoyable?

Don’t you think that sounds a little, erm, or a lot, human rights breaching?

CathyorClaire · 31/01/2025 20:53

Extrapolate as you will but I haven't said that,

I have however highlighted public facing events. What support they provide privately and away from the cameras is of course up to them.

CathyorClaire · 31/01/2025 21:00

PS And if we believe reports that both big bro's patience and deep pockets are diminishing at an equal rate it's not unreasonable to think that he's come to the conclusion Charmless could be reined in a bit too 🙂

Serenster · 31/01/2025 21:01

But one of the events you have criticised was William driving his uncles d aunts from the airport to Balmoral the day his mother died. That’s not a public facing event, is it?
