And there I was thinking they were all loaded. I still think they are, including A +F but cannot understand the constant need for funds for this and that.

I'd like to buy a £5m mews house in London with no job, not married to anyone rich, and haven't inherited a fortune from anyone. How do they do it? 😊

TheCrowPeople · 01/02/2025 13:12

I'm looking forward to Andrew Lownie's biography and Andrew and Sarah later this year.

I wonder if he'll have much to say about the trustafarian York princesses. Many people on this board are, to my mind, bewilderingly indulgent of them, yet many times since adulthood B&E have been allegedly connected in some way to their parents' financial affairs, 'business travels' and properties, and to have allegedly benefited from same. They appear to be good friends with Piers Morgan.

But time again, it's 'they seem nice'. It's infantilising. They have agency - a lot of agency.

@Alongleadtimeplease

Well said. At one point there was talk of Andrew writing a book about his time in the Navy
Well...I bet Charles and co had a fit of the vapours thinking there would be more in the book then navy stories.

I have no idea why they are not being looked into, both of them, more than they are.

I agree TheCrowPeople.

I think Andrew Lownie is a well regarded historian too, unlike some of the more sensationalist royal biographers. .

Yes yes yes to this. Both daughters have accepted money, a diamond necklace from the arms dealer friend of Daddy and all sorts

Puzzledandpissedoff · 01/02/2025 13:54

Either Charles is not bothered that Andrew is still staying at Royal Lodge but is trying to make out like he is by “leaking” the eviction story every so often?

... Or KC is favouring a head-in-sand approach like his late mother hoping the issue will go away on its own, which it isn’t doing?

Or Andrew is holding something over C & C as leverage? His autobiography perhaps 😂?

It could easily be all three, @Alongleadtimeplease, though given the amount of time Andrew's been around my personal money would be on the third

Hardly surprising to now learn that Andrew lied about breaking contact with Epstein though ... as if most won't have realised that already

Extiainoiapeial · 01/02/2025 14:11

How Andrew has got the nerve to ever show his face again, I do not know. The car crash interview was watched by millions all over the world, it was reported on everywhere. There have been two series dramatising it.
Bottom line - he lied. He is a liar.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 01/02/2025 14:15

Well I think most of us knew he was a liar. Pizza express. I don’t sweat.

Nope. But it wasn't provable at the time that he was lying. (We don't have access to his medical records re not sweating, and his movements re pizza express also no way of knowing)

This has been proved. He didn't cut contact with Epstein. Emails show this. And he blustered and pontificated about how he had nothing more to do with the convicted sex trafficker. Caught out in his lies

I don't think anyone has linked this MailOnline piece yet?

Prince Andrew could face an FBI investigation after Kash Patel (pictured) who is lined up to be head of the FBI promises 'to do everything' to uncover those linked

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14348633/Prince-Andrew-FBI-investigation-Jeffrey-Epstein-boss-expose-links.html

Great, but let’s have the names of all the rich millionaires and big cheeses that have been guests of Epstein’s, the ones that are currently happy to hide behind Andrew. There are plenty out there, only most of them are a bit more savvy than Andrew who was out of his depth and is the useful idiot.

JADS · 01/02/2025 15:16

It will be really interesting to read Andrew Lownie's book. Andrew is obviously odious and I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth. Sarah is harder to pin down, but seems to be in his thrall. I can sympathise with her cancer diagnosis and treatment and somewhat admire her work ethic with regards to the sheer number of books she has written, but how she can bear to be anywhere near him I don't know. I'm guessing it's some misguided sense of loyalty, but that makes me shudder.

To avoid clicking on the Mail I found the gist of this elsewhere, @TheCrowPeople, and if he's confirmed in the job and really means it about disclosing who else was involved with Epstein I only hope Kash Patel's got decent security Confused

I agree.

The disingenuous batting away of vast sums landing unexpectedly in bank accounts was astounding yet received very little questioning.

On the subject of assorted ne'er do wells or arse lickers being spirited in and out of royal properties it's worth noting there's never been a proper explanation for the photos of Kevin Spacey and Ghislaine Maxwell on thrones at BP, Epstein and Maxwell in a private snug at Balmoral and the odious Beckhams being given the run of BP for a child's 'Princess Party'.

Common factor in all unsurprisingly being the louche favourite son.

I don't think this will come to anything.

The FBI don't have any powers to compel him to attend an interview here and hell will freeze over before he sets foot in the USA again. An extradition request would result in a major diplomatic incident so that's off the cards (interestingly that didn't stop him hiring a hugely expensive extradition lawyer last time round) and we all saw the ducking and diving that went on both when the FBI did attempt to ask for information and when the serving of papers for the civil case was thwarted for a month.

Guess he lied about doing all in his power to assist investigations too...

TheCrowPeople · 01/02/2025 21:02

It’s a bizarre situation where we potentially have the Head of State’s brother reluctant to leave the UK for the US, and his son possibly reluctant to leave the US for the UK.

Meanwhile 83 year old Lord (George) Foulks the stalwart Labour peer is trying his damnedest to wrangle information out of, or ask questions in, parliament. As with Andrew Lownie, he’s being repeatedly obstructed. God love him, the man’s a trier.

I’ve often wondered if Prince Andrew is gay.
It would explain his relationship with Sarah Ferguson.
I always remember when they split up snd she was asked what her advice would be to people getting married
Her reply was
’know your man.’

Sarah’s advice to a woman in answer to how she could get the closeness back into her marriage was for her to buy some sexy underwear etc.. Andrew is a stupid, arrogant, entitled, immature bonehead. Those sort are dangerous when let loose in the world. But I don’t think he is gay.

Sarah reminds me of stories I’ve read about rich people living beyond their means in the old days of empire. Faffing around the world partying and hustling.

Thanks for the article. And there you have it.

They are completely untouchable. No wonder they all take advantage of everything going. Even the wider family, cousins etc cannot be questioned. What a gravy train....Taxpayer funding to King Charles is set to increase by 53% this year to £132m. Foulkes said there were concerns, particularly among newly elected Labour MPs, about the amount of public money spent by the king and members of the royal family

Foulkes said that parliament’s clerks have vetoed every attempt to raise concerns about Andrew and other royals. They have argued that parliament’s standing orders and Erskine May, the authority on parliamentary procedure, prevent discussion of the monarchy and of any matters that reflect on the sovereign or royal family

Untouchable

The obfuscation and hiding away of anything that may reflect badly on the Royals will not die with Andrew though. Why can't their dealings be discussed in Parliament? Why do they need to do deals with the press? Why do they havecsuch enormous PR? If they behaved decently they would not need to hide behind so much secrecy. The Windsors have an unfortunate habit of befriending and defending child abusers. Not just Andrew. They walk away innocently. Who knows what scandals will happen in the future with them? They need scrutiny to save them from themselves more than anything. They clearly can't be trusted to behave decently without it.

If Andrew was guilty of any of this, especially if he is guilty of sleeping with a trafficked girl, do you think she and the other young women Epstein & Maxwell preyed upon will feel like you do?

Andrew was accused. He, (or his mother), paid out a reportedly huge settlement in order to avoid a court case only weeks after his good friend Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty in the criminal case against her. If he’s innocent of wrong doing as claims, one could be forgiven for thinking he would be running towards the American authorities who have said more than once that they’d like to speak to him. Rather than running away from them. Of all people, he would be guaranteed a fair trial if American authorities brought charges.

Here’s NBC reporting on the testimony of one of the wonen who testified in the Ghislaine Maxwell trial. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/jeffrey-epstein-introduced-trump-14-ghislaine-maxwell-accuser-says-rcna7253

Jeffrey Epstein introduced me to Trump at 14, Ghislaine Maxwell accuser says

Testifying at Maxwell’s trial in New York City, the woman, identified by the pseudonym Jane, said she met the former president in the 1990s at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

More power to George Foulks! I think he is asking some really important questions.
