BBC News - Questions over Andrew's judgement and finances raised again

At this point I think we really have to ask when he has ever displayed good judgement. Thank goodness he isn't a working royal anymore.

@EdithWeston
"I suspect he wasn't listening to advice, and may have been difficult to keep on task"

Judging by the frequency of articles quoting his "friends" that he is looking for a way back to public duties, I would say that he only hears what he wants to hear and assumed he knows best. Can't imagine how frustrating it must be to try and deal with him.

He didn't learn a thing from the disaster of an interview he gave about Epstein, did he?

TallNeckedGiraffe · 13/12/2024 22:20

Andrew is a knob.

He is far more dangerous than just being a ‘knob’.

cavea · 13/12/2024 22:21

Quelle Surprise !!!!!!

Harry and Meghan did a lot of damage to the UK reputation with their lies, exaggeration, unfounded accusations of racism. It's not about the creased clothes.

Having said that, Andrew is a knob.

Far less than Andrew has done and keeps doing.

I can't stand him, he makes my skin crawl.

I don't blame Charles for not being able to make him disappear though. He inherited this problem from QEII along with the crown jewels and has limited options for shutting him up without provoking a public spat.

He is an enormous stain on QEII's reputation though.

Sunblessed · 13/12/2024 22:24

Everybody agrees he twat though, I’ve never seen anyone come out in defence of him. That’s why you won’t get endless posts!

Talking about what a twat he is, just read that he showed his ‘friend’ around Buckingham palace and St James Palace. This is a massive security breach.

His behaviour needs to be investigated by the police. Also, others involved in this. How was this relationship not ringing alarm bells? who let him show this ‘friend’ around?

KC needs to remove him from Windsor and put him far out the way. He cannot be in the same area as the future heirs. He’s a bloody danger to his family. His greed is well known and that makes him very susceptible to spy plots.

arselicker · 13/12/2024 22:29

Why can't he be in the same area as the future heirs @Sunblessed. Charles and Willy don't seem to have a problem with being seen in public with him. They are all cut from the same cloth and will do anything to keep the gravy train running.

Tom Tugendhat, a Conservative Party MP and the former security minister, said: “It is important that there is an urgent investigation into attempts at subversion in Buckingham Palace. Understanding the level of influence and access is important to knowing how to make sure this never happens again.
“They were using him. Not because he has access to secrets. This isn’t about him. They care about what he can do for them. He can bring people together. It’s about access, not just direct but indirect access.

His friend was invited to BP, St JP and Royal lodge at Windsor.

Prince Andrew invited ‘Chinese spy’ into Buckingham Palace

Businessman also attended events at St James’s Palace and Windsor Castle — and was invited to Duke of York’s birthday party at Royal Lodge

KC is better off keeping Andrew in Windsor great park. He can be kept an eye on that way.

That worked well didn't it - with the Chinese spy.

He has literally brought someone suspected of being a spy into the heart of the RF.

Why? Because the Chinese government knows he’s a greedy and desperate man, who longs to feel important. He’s an easy mark and now there has been someone suspected of being a spy in the grounds of Windsor- where the future heirs reside.
This is a massive security breach. They need to effectively exile him. But the police should be dealing with him first. I’m not saying he knew anything but he still needs investigated.

MrsLeonFarrell · 13/12/2024 22:36

Unfortunately Charles cannot legally remove him. I agree with the PP who said that Charles inherited this problem and it doesn't cast the late Queen in the next light.

I think that allowing him to go to family events is probably the best way to keep him contained, as far as is possible.

So he brought this man into BP and invited him to a birthday party. Shades of Epstein and G Maxwell. He’s downright dangerous.

ThePoshUns · 13/12/2024 22:40

Can't they put him in the Tower and try him for treason?
( I might have watched too much Wolf Hall)

CanelliniBeans · 13/12/2024 22:55

He needs to be arrested and questioned over this and the rape of the sex trafficked.
Anyone else would be
He needs to face consequences

Ohgodnowwhat · 13/12/2024 23:47

Why

cavea · 14/12/2024 05:54

My god, this is appalling.

A document found on H6’s phone listing the “main talking points” for a call with the Duke in August 2021 speaks volumes about how he was perceived by his so-called friends.

“Important: Manage expectations,” it said. “Really important to not set ‘too high’ expectations – he is in a desperate situation and will grab onto anything.”

The “key message” about money and business deals must be positive, it said, stressing the need not to pile on undue expectation or pressure.

DaisysChains · 14/12/2024 06:49

Mr Hampshire (adviser to Prince Andrew) wrote to the spy person:

"Under your guidance, we found a way to get the relevant people unnoticed in and out of the house in Windsor.”

which leaves me wondering who the people were that were getting smuggled in and out, and why

or at least what age and sex they were

Extiainoiapeial · 14/12/2024 07:34

And of course Charles knew all this apparently. Does anyone wonder at all what we the public might not know? This is probably the tip of the iceberg.

Andrew has learnt nothing after Epstein, it's just the same sort of thing, this Chinese spy invited to the palace, birthday parties etc.

At least the BBC are covering it as their top story.... well I suppose when you've got MI5 having to look into a member of the royal family's practices, they have to. The Chinese Communist Party have been cultivating Andrew for years, probably since his Trade envoy days. He will do anything for money, flattery and status, and he was pushing for investment into China during that ridiculous Pitch@ Palace thing of his.

BananaNirvana · 14/12/2024 07:38

Thoughtsareswirling · 13/12/2024 20:43

Read the posts properly. Harry is another complete waste of space. Thick, entitled and arrogant.

They’re ALL a complete waste of space - let’s not pretend the others are any better 🙄

Extiainoiapeial · 14/12/2024 07:50

At least the Chinese spy escaped Andrew's clutches, we wouldn't want him paying out another £14 million to a person he doesn't know.....

Perhaps he ought to do another Newsnight interview to clear the whole messy business up

He really will do anything for status and money. Please let this be the thing that finally removes any lingering possibility of both from him. He must have enough money to live quietly on the Windsor estate, he can do that.

I don't think Charles will protect him in the way the late Queen did and he may finally have a tiny taste of the consequences of his own actions. Probably not as much as anyone else would but at least it would be something.

But please no more interviews, I really couldn't stand him saying he didn't regret his friendship with a spy because of the opportunities it gave him. Anyone tone deaf enough to say that about an actual paedophile didn't need another outlet in public.
