ARO update

At the end of August, there was a partial rejection of the ARO trademark because of the name and descriptions. Also issues with the logo.
They had 3 months to rectify, which you would think would be ample time.

But just a few days before the deadline, an extension has been applied for. Which would be another 3 months

So it’s obviously not an easy fix, I’m sure there have been countless people working to get this done and they have months! Yet they’ve not been able to sort it.

Seemingly, you are only allowed one extension. This would take her to the end of February. So pretty much a year since she’s launched and it’s no further forward, if anything she’s in a worse position. What a disaster.

It's a nice photo, but what on earth is the bottom half of Meghan doing? Why does she always look as though she would need to be peeled off? She has absolutely no respect for other peoples personal space if there's a camera about.

Looks like she's humping her leg 😂

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 12/12/2024 11:05

The dress is really pretty. I love the style, fit and colour. I just don’t think that shade of pink works well on her. I think she suits deeper, darker pinks (but that’s just my opinion). Her hair and make up look lovely!

But why, oh why, does everything she wears have wrinkles and creases. Do they not own an iron or steam press?

wonderingconcerned · 12/12/2024 11:09

Extiainoiapeial · 12/12/2024 10:17

Meghan looks lovely. It's nice to see her in that colour as it's a change for her. No idea why a friend of Meghan's isn't allowed to post on her own IG, sometimes y'know, there is no hidden agenda, it's just a joyful shot. They all look happy, laughing and all in shades of pink!

It's nice to see her in that colour as it's a change for her.

Is this not similar to the salmon/beige backless dress that she wore in Nigeria? Part of the neutral palette she is fond of.

Extiainoiapeial · 12/12/2024 11:11

I don't know, I don't follow her fashion choices that closely. It's a nice colour though.

Meghan would not allow such a picture to be posted on Kelly’s Instagram

Maybe Kelly herself doesn't want that sort of pic on her IG, who knows. Sometimes there aren't nefarious underhand reasons for every single thing. You don't know what Meghan wants so saying she would or would not allow something is a huge stretch 😅. I've seen lots of pics of Meghan in a casual setting

Anyway as I said... knocking this picture just because Meghan is in it, is mean to the mum-to-be on a happy occasion.

Just my opinion.

It’s not nefarious and underhand to want pretty PR pictures of yourself in the press when you’re about to launch a lifestyle brand now is it?

😅🤣😅

I must make a mental note to myself to tell my DCs to pick the worst pics of me ever preferably with slippers on when my DCs post on their social media with me in it. Otherwise I am just quite obviously being underhand 😂

Sunblessed · 12/12/2024 11:42

I don’t even understand what that post means….

Anyway, save Meghan not not allowing anything but picture perfect, all hair and teeth pics to be released- WME wouldn’t allow it

Meghan herself is a brand. She trying to monetise that brand with her lifestyle company launch.

You ain’t gona see pics of her slugging wine, cross eyed on any of her friends insta.

This is a private event, someone elses baby shower- and she’s using it as PR by allowing pretty pics of her to be published

Its not a bad thing, it’s the truth though

so Meghans friend puts a nice photo on her instagram, but thats wrong....
im confused. i don't do instagram, but isn't that just normal.

Thedom · 12/12/2024 12:02

The point posters are making is that no one can say anything or release any photos of Meghan and Harry without their prior agreement. She even had kids and their parents at a school visit sign NDA's, so you can be sure her friends have to get prior approval and the go ahead from Meghan to post anything related to her.

It's a purposely selected image to showcase Meghan, not the mom to be, thats blatantly obvious. . Most photos of Meghan with her friends are similar, Meghan as the focus of the photo. M is rarely on the periphery of a group photo, this is more of the same and it's another quiet PR move.

Totally normal !

No idea what the problem is. Her friend Kelly can choose to post a pic or not post a pic, it's up to her! And Meghan isn't the focus of the pic, lovely bump on mum-to-be is.

Obviously a nice pic of Meghan isn't allowed on social media, it has to be her cross eyed with slippers on 😂😅🤣

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 12/12/2024 12:11

I think people are trying to highlight that it’s not just a random photo of friends at a baby shower. The mother-to-be would have to seek permission from Meghan or her publicist to post it or else it was set up with the intention that it was always going to be posted. So they think that it’s staged publicity shot rather than a natural private shot of friends.

I think it’s a mix of both. They are obviously friendly and having a good time but Meghan always intended it to shared online. It can make you doubt her authenticity.

Not when you’re a celeb. A celeb doesn’t just allow pics to go out of them on their friends insta. It will have to have been approved.

Why has she approved a pic of her at a private setting? This is a person who has lamented the invasion of her privacy and now she she’s happy for others to post private pics?

She’s not promoting a charity or at a brand launch

Shes done it because she wants soft image PR put out.

So selling her out her private life.

It’s like the Lady Louise 21st birthday photos.
It looks like she had a private profile and was tagged in photos, but either a friend didn’t put their photos on private and or else someone in the know sold the photos to the press. We assume that Louise didn’t authorise these photos to be shared.

In Meghan’s case, these photos were on a public profile. I highly doubt that the person would post private photos of Meghan without her permission. So the understanding is that she wanted them to be seen for publicity and to be in the news. Or she staged the photo for her own benefit and publicity.

There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s what celebrities do. It just seems a little staged and inauthentic that she has set up an intimate photo to be shared for publicity.

MrsLeonFarrell · 12/12/2024 12:38

Staged and inauthentic is pretty much the modus operandi for Instagram.

I'm not saying that Meghan didn't approve the photo, just that I think criticising her or her friend for a picture perfect Instagram post that got into the media is strange. Everyone uses Instagram as a show reel rather than behind the scenes reality. Most celebrities have photos that are taken from there by the media.

Oh definitely. I don’t think that she’s done anything wrong necessarily. It just the way it has been done, it’s clearly been staged and managed and some people (whether rightyly or wrongly) wanted to call her out for it due to her previous views on privacy and authenticity.

I wonder if Meghan has a private instagram page?

Privacy and authenticity

I've never thought of Megan or Harry when I hear those words.

I can see what you are saying though. There's just so much of this stuff in celeb land I can't get worked up about it. I'm not concerned by the way they use ordinary people to elevate themselves.

Just wondering what "DCs" are.
I'm used to "DC" being "dear/darling child/children" on MN, but that doesn't seem appropriate here.
Is it "dear/darling chums" perhaps?

You never know. If her brand consultants concluded that this image would make her more 'relatable' and therefore increase the $$$$.........

That last line should read "I'm more concerned"

Extiainoiapeial · 12/12/2024 13:14

@LaMarschallin 'DC' has always been 'children' on MN as far as I'm aware? They very occasionally post a pic on their FB or IG if there is a family gathering, like Christmas or a wedding. Not sure why that is inappropriate?
I've never called my lovely friends 'chums' 🤣 they'd think I'd lost the plot!

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 12/12/2024 13:18

If she promoted a wine by releasing a photo of herself shit faced, wine in hand, partying without a care in the world with her girlfriends, not even noticing the camera is there, I would buy that wine.

I doubt she would though, she seems to take herself very seriously.

Thedom · 12/12/2024 14:57

I have two teenagers, they are so aware of not posting photos of friends or groups without getting permission from others in the photos they are sharing.

I think it has been drummed into them at school. On school outings, shows, events, they are warned in advance no photos of others to be shared on SM.

They always ask us when they are sharing family photos.

I am glad things are changing with the younger generation.

Edited

That's a really encouraging step forward. Mine aren't really on social media so I'm a bit of of touch. Maybe it is changing from my generation of mums, many of whom would post photos of children having tantrums, potty training or in the bath. So hard for those kids because the photos are there forever.
