Catherine’s Christmas carol service details

Kensington Palace have announced Catherine’s fourth Together At Christmas service at Westminster Abbey will be held on 6 December. This year’s theme is celebrating those supporting others in need.

There will be musical performances by stars including Paloma Faith, Olivia Dean and Gregory Porter.

"The service will shine a light on individuals from all over the UK who have shown love, kindness and empathy towards others in their communities," the palace said.

The event, supported by The Royal Foundation, will be filmed as part of a special programme on ITV1 on Christmas Eve.

I wondered if the black bow on Catherine's coat was a mark of respect for Liz Hatton, who died very recently. Her parents were at the event.

I might be overthinking it, but it struck me it was a little bit like wearing a black armband to signify mourning.

I agree. I think Beatrice is lovely. Never pushes herself ( or her little girl) forward and just does everything with a quiet dignity. I feel sorry for her weathering all the business with her parents’ wild lives. I believe the Queen was especially fond of her and I can see the apple didn’t fall far from the tree there.

I loved Zara's suit and she looked great in it.

I loved Sophie Winkleman's coat ( is she Claudia's sister) her daughters looked sweet too.

Yes, they're half-sisters. She's always stylishly dressed, IMO.

I think Sophie and Claudia have the same dad, so they're half sisters.

I love the first picture of the Wales family with Louis in the centre, it looks as though Charlotte's saying to George 'He's doing Riverdance again'.

Charlotte looks so much like the late queen. Also I think she should play Hermione in the new Harry Potter TV show.

I always think that George looks so much like the Queen's father. Charlotte looks like the Queen and Sarah Chatto. Louis takes after his maternal grandfather. It's interesting to see the genetics play out.

I think exactly the same although I also see Louis like Prince Andrew at times ( who, tbf, was probably the best looking of the men when young).

And when she was little I could see Carol in Charlotte as well as the aforementioned relatives.

I don’t see much of William or Kate! It is interesting.

I think George is very like Michael Middleton and I have seen pictures of Catherine when she was little that reminds me of Louis. Regardless, they are three lovely looking children and Catherine has definitely improved the gene pool. I do feel for them as they will be scrutinised over their looks as they grow up. It's inevitable and it's a bit shit.

I guess it’s inevitable as the public get lots of photos ( which are after all just images) but no real insight beyond that.

Kate has definitely added some improving genes looks wise. But all the royal kids in recent years tended to start off ok and then it all went downhill.

Will be interesting to see how they change in looks and demeanour as they enter adolescence. It won't be long now for George anyway. What school will he attend for the next level, I'm not sure where was decided.

George is going to Eton.

Has that been announced ?

Do the Royals board at places like Eton? I would imagine that K+W might not be thrilled with their son(s) and daughter having to live away from home like that.

But what do I know about their schooling arrangements post primary school. I think they are at day school now anyway.

I thought one of the reasons W & K moved the family to Windsor was so George could be a day pupil at Eaton. It’s a very short drive.

Eton is 7 days a week boarding only. I suppose they might make an exception for a future King, but then not sure George would be happy to be the only boy not boarding.

George can stay where he is until he is 13. Most prep schools keep students until year 8. No announcement has been made as to where he will go after Lambrook, although it may well be Eton
