Catherine’s Christmas carol service details

Kensington Palace have announced Catherine’s fourth Together At Christmas service at Westminster Abbey will be held on 6 December. This year’s theme is celebrating those supporting others in need.

There will be musical performances by stars including Paloma Faith, Olivia Dean and Gregory Porter.

"The service will shine a light on individuals from all over the UK who have shown love, kindness and empathy towards others in their communities," the palace said.

The event, supported by The Royal Foundation, will be filmed as part of a special programme on ITV1 on Christmas Eve.

I like the red and black, I just think the floppy bow works a bit better on a soft blouse than on a structured coat.

But she looked well and happy and much stronger so I’m not going to dwell on the bow.

I normally hate bows on outerwear, and not keen on blouses too, but for some reason this just looked rather whimsical and jolly. A bit like a young glamourous version of Mrs Claus! Kate does love a bit of sartorial costuming.

Unless I am seeing it all wrong, the black bow isn't on the coat, it's on whatever she is wearing underneath (looks like there's a tartan pattern on the skirt).

You could be right: I only glanced. The overall impression for me was of a structured coat with a bow sort of tacked on at the neck.

But I liked the red and thought it struck the right sort of cheery note after some sadder appearances from her this year.

I think the bow is on the neckline of the tartan dress beneath.
And the neckline of the coat is lower.

Me too, I really like her in red, the colour suits her so well, it's very festive and I am glad she's gone for this rather than something darker like green. I thought she looked great last year in the winter whites, but this is more traditional and cheerful.

Yes I think you are right. The effect is slightly odd I think BUT she looks wonderful. The photo of her waving is beautiful. A happy end to an awful year.

Catherine looks amazing. So does her Mum, they clearly have great genes. I really like the red and the bow, suits the occasion.

No . Neither nor Camilla were there . I think he will be having a quiet weekend after the Qatari visit .
William is representing him in France tomorrow.

I don't think he attends these as it is the Princess of Wales event and is intended to be less formal?

He attended in 2021 and 2022. But in 2023 he had another engagement at the 100 miles away, so did not attend.
