Kensington Palace have announced Catherine’s fourth Together At Christmas service at Westminster Abbey will be held on 6 December. This year’s theme is celebrating those supporting others in need.

There will be musical performances by stars including Paloma Faith, Olivia Dean and Gregory Porter.

"The service will shine a light on individuals from all over the UK who have shown love, kindness and empathy towards others in their communities," the palace said.

The event, supported by The Royal Foundation, will be filmed as part of a special programme on ITV1 on Christmas Eve.

Just saw a photo of Frederick Windsor (I think that’s his name). He looks like a Victorian about to expire from consumption.

😂

i just went and had a look. Those dark circles under his eyes.

I have those dark circles too.

BettyBlueSky · 07/12/2024 00:34

It’s really good to see Kate shining. She looks lovely and very happy.

Aww the children brought tags to put on the kindness tree outside the Abbey. Louis’ said “Thank you to granny and grandpa because they have played games with me”

How sweet!

They all looked great but Zara looked fantastic.

Absolutely love Zara’s outfit. So different but so flattering.

I wasn't keen on the white on that occasion.

Susannah Reid also had a velvet trouser suit on! I have one too 😂 but I wasn't there. Or was I? 😂

I think her former Party Pieces employees and suppliers would disagree with you about Carole being nice.

The whole point of a limited liability company is that the members have limited liability - otherwise no one would ever risk their own capital to set up a company.

Company and insolvency law contains duties that directors must adhere to and has penalties if they don’t - for example, If the company directors had been guilty of a breach of directors duties in law - failing to take account of creditors interest while unlikely to be able to avoid insolvency or of unfair trading etc, then there are sanctions and penalties.

There doesn’t appear to have been any misconduct whatsoever here. The company went down despite obvious efforts to save it. That happened to so many businesses after Covid. It’s no one’s ‘fault’.

I just love this event, not particularly because of the PoW but more the recognition of work within communities - in fact it's starting to take over from Carols From Kings for me

Breaking my own rule about commentting on appearance though, I know it's said we all turn into our mothers in the end, but with Catherine it's getting uncanny

Me too. I think it's a really beautiful way to celebrate people who do so much for their communities. Sometimes the guest performers aren't the best - I'm interested to see how Paloma sounds (I love her music generally, but she's a strange fit for this), and I totally adore how bonkers she looked. But the whole event is just lovely and I look forward to it each year now.

ETA: I also love that they're doing/they did more services around the UK this year.

It is a nice carol service. But it will never take over from Carols at Kings. That has a world renowned choir and very high viewing/listening figures.

Carols from Kings a lovely, very traditional service for those who like that. Together at Christmas, with it's focus on thanking people in the community is a great addition to the Christmas calendar.

CandyMaker · 07/12/2024 14:29

@MrsLeonFarrell They are both nice in their own way.
But without Kate and the Royal Family in attendance the Together at Christmas would be a nice community carol service that would be unlikely to be televised.
Carols at Kings is not dependent on any one individual to be televised or viewed.
They are very different creatures.

Yes I agree. I'm glad that Catherine didn't just go for a traditional service, this fills a gap, doesn't detract from existing events and shines a light on all the people who help others. It's nice to have good stuff on the TV.

Harassedevictee · 07/12/2024 14:45

I’ve seen a YouTube video where Catherine went round the cathedral talking to lots of the people attending, not just famous faces. She really seemed engaged.

CandyMaker · 07/12/2024 14:50

@Harassedevictee do you have a link?

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 07/12/2024 15:00

Beatrice looked fabulous. She’s really come into her own style and regularly seems to be the best dressed of the royal women now.

I don’t like the black bow with Catherine’s red coat, but the coat colour is lovely.

I always wish they’d show this when it’s filmed rather than save it for closer to Christmas- I never end up seeing it as we are doing Christmas by then.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 07/12/2024 15:03

I do like that the bulk of the royals come to this as well, it’s not just Catherine and William, it’s a wider family thing so it’s a bit more special for those being invited to attend.

One of the royal family mentioned that they have a little party together afterwards too - so looks like it’s become one of their family Christmas traditions now too.

Its a shame that Charles and Camilla will miss it then.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 07/12/2024 15:28

If there’s a family party afterwards, not having the King and Queen there might help it be more William and Catherine’s event.

CandyMaker · 07/12/2024 15:29

@FancyBiscuitsLevel A family party is just a family party. Its not anyones event that needs ownership of.

Yes, I think you just hit the nail on the head there, MrsLF - as you say it's a gap which might otherwise go unfilled, and brings in the community without treading on the toes of anything else
