What's going on at Sandringhzm?

6 black audis ,blues and twos, plus 2 white vans , speeding along the A149 towards King's Lynn away from Sandringham. Blocking junctions. I'm not sure if Charles is in residence at Sandringham. Something seems amiss.

I hope it is nothing serious.

How have you not see them if you're not that far away?

Seen them loads. We're in Ingoldisthorpe. Used to see the Queen quite regularly driving herself in her green landy. William and Kate in Hunstanton.

I've been to Hunstanton a good few times and never seen anyone there either :).

Ah well

Mumsnet is even better as any speculation around the Royals, occasionally a politician, someone pitches up to assure us their husband is very high up in Armed Forces/Civil Service/"organisation I can't name but I think letters and numbers". They then assure us that there will be a special announcement tomorrow and that X person died at the weekend but it was kept quiet for political reasons or not to detract from a sports event or memorial something. So it's top secret apart from her husband telling her and her hint hinting on here.

Can't say ( as a regular on the RF board) that I have ever seen anything like this.

I'm so delighted to be paying taxes so that the lazy bunch can have endless special treatment. Police don't turn up for everyday crimes affecting normal people but somehow there are plenty spare to escort the royals here and there, on the days they choose to slum it on the roads and not take their helicopters.

Jealousy is a very ugly personality trait.

Obsessedwithsourdough · 16/10/2024 22:24

Just checked the Court Circular and Charles was in London today. Why all this media fuss about Australia then?

ThePoshUns · 16/10/2024 22:24

It might be nothing to do with the RF.
could be special forces doing an exercise, police escorting another PP.

Does everyone else in Norfolk see the royals!!

I live in north Norfolk, and I go to Hunstanton, kings lynn and sandringham a lot and I've never seen them once!

I must be shopping in the wrong places! :)

Edit: I just asked my cousin if she has ever seen any of them. She lives in King's Lynn. And always has done. She is 45. She said that she's never seen any of them either

Why would you wish this on any
one, especially when they have young children?

What a horrible, nasty thing to say. This is the kind of stuff that drove them out of the country in the first place.

The kind of stuff that drove them out of ( i.e. resulted in them leaving) the UK in the first place was (a) not being team.players (b) not being allowed to merch the RF connection.

But she never intended to stay, once she'd got the ring and the anchor baby. And that's why we're discussing their divorce - he's realising he's been played.

justasking111 · 16/10/2024 22:33

William lived in Anglesey for three years. The locals kept quiet about that too. It's good to know they can go shopping, surfing, walking without pictures, stories reaching the media.

Mylovelygreendress · 16/10/2024 22:34

I live fairly near Ballater . Locals are very protective of the RF . Camilla was wandering around the town with her kids a few weeks ago . No one bothered her.

KnightleyAndCocktails · 16/10/2024 22:36

Probably Taylor Swift's mother visiting.

Yeah if I ever actually saw any of them out walking, I wouldn't say anything. I wouldn't want to intrude.

Unless kate was right beside me in a shop. I might say hi!

LazySuzan · 16/10/2024 22:39

FWIW I just asked Chat GPT and got this response:
The sighting of multiple black Audis with blue lights and two white vans speeding along the A149, blocking junctions, suggests a high-security or emergency response convoy. Convoys like this, particularly with blocking of junctions, are often seen during urgent police or royal-related activities.

Was he not in Australia?

I'm in Australia and haven't heard anything about him being here? Would think it would at least make the papers.

Your first paragraph, despite your negative interpretation of the reasons behind their departure, may be charitably understood by some as an example of how strongly opinions can diverge on this; however, on what basis are you claiming that "she never intended to stay, once she'd got the ring and the anchor baby. And that's why we're discussing their divorce - he's realising he's been played" other than unsubstantiated speculation?

It's important to stick to correct information, not unverified conjectures, to form credible opinions.

I was at St Andrews with them and no one cared all that much. Certainly nothing like was depicted in The Crown!

Don't be sorry and it's not annoying. Language can evolve but not when it's stupid.

Indeed. This board mainly talks about Meghan and Harry in a negative and highly speculative way. Anything negative flies. The board deserves its reputation for housing batshitty crazy ideas about them. 😂

I've just seen on the news that harry and meghan have just bought a house in Portugal.

Good for them. I love it here.

I'm a Tom Bower baby. But even before his book I got vibes.
It is possible to form credible opinions from observations, when one has enough life experience.

There are other threads on this board dedicated to Meghan and her magnificences.

Yes, other students fawning over him and girls asking for autographs in The Crown. But the whole of season six was pretty naff, to be fair.

It's often portrayed in documentaries that people were so desperate to be at St Andrews at the same time as Prince William, that they took gap years , and changed Uni choice to go there!!
