Or are the DM stoking the fire?

If they are using SEO, then yes, they are driving clicks.

They don't "know" anything, just making sure they have something (anything) connected with the latest crap Twitter rumour, jus to keep people clicking through to them.

Also, just because only he is seen surfing it does not follow that the rest of the family are not on a seaside break together with him

Rhaidimiddim · 17/10/2024 10:23

There is no indication that this is current (as opposed to historical) footage, though. (His hair would indicate historical.)

That’s what I was thinking too. It could have been filmed months ago.

Has been put out now to make it look like he’s in California.

It’s odd because this isn’t a charity thing etc. This is Harry’s private time….why the hell would he allow this to go out? unless it’s a freebie and he agrees to an instant post or he’s putting it out as a ruse to cover where he is

The article specifies the location (NOT the seaside) and that M bought him lessons at this inland facility. I understand if you don't want to read the DM but you then miss the details.

Yes, they are all very comfortable and easy together, and they appeared very close considering it is the spouse of a cousin. I would love Anne to open up too.

I think if any of the RF did a tell all in a similar spirit to Spare, it would totally eclipse the sales of Spare by multiples. Can you imagine some of the promo headlines, 'what really happened in our family'. 'the inlaw from hell' 'what Harry is really like'. 'why we don't miss Harry and his wife'.

I didn’t read Spare but I’d read those 😁

Interesting new angle from the Team Meghan. She is not a bully because she is so bullied. All criticism of her actions (especially the really mean, anti-feminist, putting other women down, lies that she says and does etc) is bullying. All calls for her to stop saying nasty, threatening shit in interviews is bullying. Poor Meghan is not a bully, obvious. She is just defending herself for those people who won’t do as she tells them, won’t kiss her feet and insist on call out her toxic behaviour.

Yes, very bullied. Perhaps she should take some of her own advice.

Edited

This reminds me of some years ago I worked with a really horrible colleague. Everyone hated her, she really could make grown men cry. I then heard that at her previous job she accused her workers of bullying her and actually made an official claim against it (I don’t know what the outcome was). I was ‘gobsmacked’ that such a horrible person could be bullied by anyone. I certainly wasn’t the only one who gave this accusation the side eye.

You're right, I don't read the DM, and I made a wrong assumption that surfing would be done in the sea. Sorry.

But my post should carry the same meaning if you just skip over the word "seaside" - they could all be on a break together at the surfing location (now or historically)

I think that photo has been released as part of the general PR drive to improve his image and raise his profile. He’s finished his trip to Africa so they’re plugging the gaps to ensure the public don’t forget about him. It may well be an old photo.

JSMill · 17/10/2024 18:14

@AutumnMagpies that's what I think too. I also feel he is separating his image from Meghan's. I don't know if that's because relations aren't good between them or because they recognise they aren't viewed positively as a couple.

Yes, I agree. I wonder if it’s his idea or someone else’s.

Perhaps his next Netflix pitch is a documentary on surfing. Or perhaps this is part of an SEO project to drown all those surfer rumours.

@Twistybranch you are 100% right he has put that video out there for a reason.

My guess it's about cultivating his image. Remind people of the fun prince he once was, separate from Meghan. He's definitely wanting people to see him as separate to her.

Same with the Portugal house, it's an odd thing to do.

Who's behind him revamping his image?

BunnyLake · 17/10/2024 21:01

I’ll never be able to see him as the fun, jovial, cheeky prince again. He’s a nasty piece of work in my eyes and nothing’s going to change that. Personally I hope they don’t divorce so he doesn’t try and come crawling back. He literally sold his aging grandmother down the river and that’s the behaviour of a very spiteful individual.

ThePoshUns · 17/10/2024 21:41

I didn't realise surfing made your hair grow

But who is advising him? He lives on the Cali coast, so post a video of yourself in the actual sea, not in an inland training facility!

Also, there are historical photos of him (and William - perhaps that is the reason they weren't used) surfing in the actual UK seas.

So, who put this video out of him in an inland trainee facility, and why?

He's 40 years old for gods sake - is this a skill to add to his juggling?

Goodness knows but I suspect 'something is not right in the state of' Montecito...

Needanewname42 · 18/10/2024 04:45

@Rhaidimiddim who knows who's advising him. But it's weird.

There is rumours he's having an affair with a surf instructor, could that be why it was released?

Because your right why not release a current video of him surfing in the sea?

I'm sure this washing machine is getting close to the spin cycle

So what if he is 40 years old? Are you not allowed to be surfing at 40 years old?

YY - there is a lot of lazy age stereotyping on MN.

I first tried surfing well in to my 40s (cornered in to it by the DC). I'm not very good at it though!

Thedom · 18/10/2024 07:47

I don't think it is the trying it at age 40 that looks strange, it's the boasting about it by publicly releasing a video of him attempting to surf in a wave park. If he had been papped doing it, you could understand, but for him to release it himself (via his publicist and instructor) is the talking point for most people and seems a bit immature considering it doesn't look like it is such a great achievement at all.

It’s just a very rich guy with nothing of consequence to do, amusing himself. A bit irritating really.

That's it exactly. My DH is 41 and loves to surf but despite us living 10 mins from the sea he rarely gets the chance as he is v.busy with all the normal responsibilities that real, actual adult men have.
Harry is pathetic in my eyes, and thats nothing to do with being him rich - there are many rich men worthy of respect.
No amount of wealth is worth being shackled to an inept, bitter man-child. Perhaps Meghan is realising this, but being married to her is surely no picnic either.

Neither is Harry. He's being described as showing off his 'surfing skills', yet looks like he's having lessons as a beginner. I wonder why he released it, it's not particularly impressive but maybe he just needs constant attention.

Who said it had to be a great achievement? Maybe to him learning to surf is something he has wanted to do and to him it's an achievement 🤔

So back to my earlier comment when I said people say go away, dissappear we don't wan to hear about you.....then a thread is started asking where he is because he has been in the media so now something is published and back to complaining he now is. 🙄

Mummyoflittledragon · 18/10/2024 09:07

It would be nice to see him doing something of consequence rather than rich boy staged PR. It also isn’t clear whether the footage released was recorded recently or some time ago.
