Meg’s era of joy

Showing up to support her very close friend who lost her child and also the children’s hospital at an evening gala. What a friend to have in the Duchess. Meghan was glowing, fresh faced, wore minimal makeup, was confidant and smiley. She was well spoken and supportive of the evening fund raiser when interviewed. Show Up, Do Good. Yes, she always does. Loved her look too.

Harry would be lucky to get a minimum wage job if he were not the King's son.

Meghan would be just another ageing minor actress.

Not even her most unctuous fan girls here would give a toss about her if she hadn't married into the royal family.

I think it's more than giving a toss about her.

We just don't like to see women being bullied to the point where she is destroyed.

Kindness is important in this world.

In the real world "royalty" is seen as old fashioned.

How can a person be "royal" . Someone decided ages ago " this one family will now rule over the country forever and ever".

It's old fashioned

He's a human like us.

Whether or not you think royalty is old fashioned is irrelevant.

Charles is Head of State not just of Britain, but of 15 overseas realms, for the time being at least.

He is a person of international status and importance. The woman who owes her fame to her marriage to his younger son is not.

She seems very inoffensive and pleasant to me.

The differences between the two women (and no it’s not race) is Kate doesn’t speak in word salads and buzz phrases, she doesn’t litter her speeches with me, myself and I. Bottom line is Kate is not a narcissist, Meghan very clearly has narc traits. Show me one piece of footage in all the years Kate has been with William where she’s pulled or pushed or nudged him to one side so she can get in front first, just one. If someone asked to see a dozen or more of Meghan, easy to do.

Kates image is curated to the point it's bland and seen as perfect for the role she has as future queen. It's a version of her but it's not her true self. So what you see doesn't necessarily equate to this is who is really is or hownshe is really like. Just like many of us have a version of ourselves we present at work and in various other situations.

You're not making any sense. You asked me 'what did harry do to get all the privilege'.

First.

Then I said back "what did the King do to get all the privilege" to point out that he King has done absolutely nothing either

And you then said "he inherited it"

So why did you ask about harry then?

Obviously you know Harry inherited it aswell

You're not making sense.
Harry inherited it. Meghan got her status and privilege by marriage to inherited status.
I think there's some confusion.
Neither Meghan nor Harry are where they are because of ability, effort, work or dedication.

This. Do people think that Harry and Meghan are where they are on merit?

OctopusFriend · 07/10/2024 11:37

Anyway. I think some people just don't understand and think for some reason the Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles were somehow earned! Odd.
Fine if you really like them, but they're royal and that's their selling point.

Then why do the Sussexes insist on using their titles that they only obtained by Harry being royal?

As for the King being more important, he isn’t in a human sense. But his job (which, yes, he inherited) as Head of State is more important. Whether you agree with the idea of monarchy or not, that is the current situation. So you really cannot say that Megan’s job, whatever that may be, or Harry’s for that matter, is more, or as, important

And she’s doing an amazing job of it so kudos to Kate. If she were a narc she wouldn’t be doing such a good job would she, she’d be pushing William out the way to be first.

What about the twelve people who claim that Meghan has bullied them? Don’t they deserve some kindness? I’m not sure why some seem to think that Meghan should get a bye for her own unpleasantness because she is a woman / mixed race / American / a divorcee or whatever other excuse is trotted out for poor behaviour as a human being

Exactly she has to carefully present herself as pleasant, bland and non threatening.

I remember I once read a book written by someone who had worked with Princess Diana.

He said that Diana would be in a car on the way to an event, and she would be crying heavily.

And five minutes before they got there, someone would say to her "you must stop crying, you must put on your smiling face when you get out there".

And she put the pretend bland happy face on and got out. Princess Diana did this for so long, and then she eventually cracked.

Of course we are never going to see the current princess of Wales upset or angry. She's not allowed to be.

You MUST present yourself as happy, pleasant, non threatening and bland.

Umm have you read the Hollywood Reporter lately? You don't like to see women being bullied, unless it's Meghan doing the bullying presumably.

So if a tabloid says it, it's true?

Eh...no

And here we have it the nasty bitchy comments we too often see on this board about them. You comment how horrible these people are but your behaviour is no better. Just utterly disgusting.

Thedom · 07/10/2024 11:56

If Catherine carried on in front of a photo-wall in the same way Meghan has we would all be on here commenting on how crazy and weird it was. I don't think anyone would think it was normal, irrespective of whether she stayed for the full event or was escorted out via a side door..

Lifestooshort71 · 07/10/2024 11:57

@Spectre8 So basically your comments are criticism it's just nasty mean girl bitchy comments becuase you don't like her. That's what people do when they don't like someone they say nasty things about them
I don't think folk go around saying nasty things about people they don't like - what an odd thing to say, is that what you do?

Misorchid · 07/10/2024 11:57

So so Yoko and John. Strong woman, husband with mother issues…
Maybe Meg has sent Harry off with a May Pong for a ‘lost weekend’?
She’s bound to get bored with him. Wouldn’t you?

roibustea · 07/10/2024 11:58

Don't like the dress much, and it seems a slightly odd choice for a children's event. And yet again it doesn't bloody fit! Surely she can afford a seamstress?! Presumably it cost a lot of money but she makes it look like it's from the River Island sale.

Hughs · 07/10/2024 12:00

So if a tabloid says it, it's true?

No, I said the Hollywood Reporter, not a tabloid.

Exactly.
People have a problem with the fact that Catherine really doesn’t seem to put a foot wrong. She’s not just royal, she is great at being royal. More so than some that were born into it. She isn’t bland, she just doesn’t make everything about her. She doesn’t have to seek attention or admiration. Pure class.

WhyamIinahandcartandwherearewegoing · 07/10/2024 12:01

Era of joy? More like Era of intense PR to claw back something from the skipfire of cringe they’ve set fire to themselves in 🤣🤣🤣🤣

TofeeFurs · 07/10/2024 12:02

Is there footage Meghan being escorted out? I can't quite imagine this happened.

Roundthemoon · 07/10/2024 12:05

Hughs · 07/10/2024 12:00

So if a tabloid says it, it's true?

No, I said the Hollywood Reporter, not a tabloid.

The definition of tabloid journalism is "sensational stories" , which are often about celebrities.

The Hollywood reporter is a publication that covers entertainment and celebrities.

MummyJ12 · 07/10/2024 12:06

Catherine has ironically been bullied far more this year than anyone else.

She doesn’t support a toxic group of people that behave like bullies and cyber attackers like M&H do. Staff aren’t coming out with accusations of bullying.
As for THR, it’s the industry bible, not a tabloid. No retraction or legal action so the story and the evidence is obviously solid.

FloofPaws · 07/10/2024 12:07

@Roundthemoon - the King of GB is working on behalf of the country, Meghan is there for her own self promotion, not there as an invited person to support initiatives etc on behalf of the country.
In all honesty it looks like she's chucked on a dress and shoes, strolled up and down the red carpet, spewed out another word salad, and either run off out the back door as she's not actually contributed anything to be allowed to the main event, or has been escorted out because she's not invited ... she's a chancer and a hack
