Showing up to support her very close friend who lost her child and also the children’s hospital at an evening gala. What a friend to have in the Duchess. Meghan was glowing, fresh faced, wore minimal makeup, was confidant and smiley. She was well spoken and supportive of the evening fund raiser when interviewed. Show Up, Do Good. Yes, she always does. Loved her look too.

Era of joy, what a load of rubbish.

Can’t believe some of the drivel on this thread. Her natural beauty radiates from within what a load of shite.

Meghan was imo far more beautiful before she had this work done. But then I think that with other women I know who’ve had work done or fillers or veneers or whatever the latest fad is!

However I really like Meghan in red and her liked her hair. It was softer on her.

Are you really trying to argue that Meghan has had absolutely no cosmetic work done?

Two questions;

1. What do you mean by "Era of Joy"?.
2. Why have you posted this in "Royal Family"?.

I don't think cosmetic surgery makes people look younger, or even better - it just kind of stretches the skin and takes out the natural attractiveness. All the glow is gone.
That's what showbiz is like, though. Pressure on women to be perpetually young and thin. Sad.

So self promption. People don't as a rule make such statements about their lives. We says stuff like "everything is going really well at the moment" 'we are really good, life is good"

"Era of joy" is said to pump a story so she can pretend all is wonderful.
Reminds me of when Jennifer Anison and Brad Pitt paper took out a newspaper add to proclaim their marriage was solid and happy only to part a week or so later.

Basically don't believe everything you read in the paper.

To be fair had she not posted it in royal family it would have been moved here by people reporting it.

Having to get up to go to work on which is normally a day off this thread has lifted my spirits. I'm not a Sussex fawner but the comments from OP are class. I've never read this much hero worship and drivel about those two so far on Mumsnet so much so my eyes have rolled to the back of my head. Hope you don't suffer too greatly with your hangover OP.

also why are you happy with it? Wearing minimal makeup doesn’t make someone a better person than someone who wears ‘heavy’ makeup.

If she’s there to support her friend, why didn’t she host a table at the gala — raising actual funds for the charity, rather than just do the red carpet?

I can answer that. The op is most definitely not OK. I'm absolutely not going to be mean because there's a very good chance that the person behind the screen isn't doing so great one way or another.

Meg's 'era of joy'. If M herself thinks that (as opposed to it being something you have dreamt up) then she must have absolutely no shame, self-awareness or embarrassment. But even I don't think she's that bad - and I can't stand her. I think she is rattled and this strange, desperate attempt at distraction is all she can muster just now.

OP - have you been under a stone for the last few weeks? How can you suggest that someone accused on both sides of the Atlantic of serious work-place bullying is in an 'era of joy'? Are you OK with this behaviour?

She's actulaly in her twilight era. It doesn't matter how much 'work' she has done, or what her dress looks like - Meghan's image is irredeemable tarnished now and we can expect to see her becoming increasingly desperate and embarrassing.

Oh, and you say you're 'a hugger'. Hmmm. Please be aware that hugging isn't everyone's bag and can often be a form of control by the invasion of other people's personal space - forcing an intimacy on them which they don't want.

Or just make a donation either personally (a fraction of the cost of one of her outfits, say) or from Archewell.

Simples - but that wouldn't get Meghan on to the red carpet, which seems to be the whole point of everything she does.

I don't hear the bit about underprivileged children, she was saying that hospital was great, 'lots' of her friends now and from school have had to use it ....

And clearly medicated to my trained eye. Maybe a new era of ‘joy’ but one that has been carefully crafted by her PR agents.

You make a good point. I think that lots of people who've invested heavily in M and H, and especially Meghan, over the past few years are going through a very difficult time as the image of their idol starts to crumble.

I think she barely looks like herself anymore which is a damn shame as I preferred the real version of her.

There are certainly people invested in specific celebrities, including royals. That's just fandom and it can be very intense, particularly when we are young. There are also those who are invested, financially shall we say, in spreading certain narratives. Some are more convincing than others.
