Meg’s era of joy

Showing up to support her very close friend who lost her child and also the children’s hospital at an evening gala. What a friend to have in the Duchess. Meghan was glowing, fresh faced, wore minimal makeup, was confidant and smiley. She was well spoken and supportive of the evening fund raiser when interviewed. Show Up, Do Good. Yes, she always does. Loved her look too.

I can actually see the resemblance 😂

My god, she looks like Russell Brand now. I've heard it all

Such insults about another woman it's untrue

I thought she looked lovely, natural and normal in this engagement. Not like Russell Brand
Or a man
😮

I said her hair reminded me of Russell brand. Not that she looked like Russell brand. Get a grip.

JaneJeffer · 08/10/2024 20:23

Men and women can resemble each other. I don't think it's insulting to say so 🤷🏻‍♀️

So now she’s back in contact with her suits friends.

After years of ignoring them….looks like she needs them again.

Im guessing she will pop up on a podcast episode. 2 years ago, she would never have done this. How the mighty have fallen. But between Suits being a Netflix hit and Meghan desperately trying to make some sort of a career….here we are. The exact same position as she would have been in anyway….again!

Patrick j Adam:

'But upon hearing about the podcast. I got a lovely text, saying how excited she was for us and asking how she could help in anyway’

Bet she did!

How she can help rather than if she can help? Seems a bit presumptuous to assume she’ll be needed. Unless he just has bad grammar.

Yes not sure how she can help with his podcast anyway, when a boss at Spotify called her fucking grifter and her contact brought to an end.

I do not like the Sussexes. At all. All the moaning, bitching, fakery and back stabbing.

But making derogatory comments about a black (mixed race / African American) woman's hair is not on. While the poster probably doesn't have any racist intention, it's a really inappropriate comment.

It isn’t a degogatory comment against a black woman at all. Her hair has been styled, just like Russell’s hair was styled. Into a middle parting with a flat curl.

In no way does a comparison between two similar hairstyles constitute a racial attack on Megan markle.

TofeeFurs · 08/10/2024 21:10

It's culturally insensitive in this day and age to speak in a derogatory way about a black woman's hair. It's not about Meghan or her individual hair, it's about keeping in mind the racist context of people speaking in this way. It's possible to criticise what Meghan and Harry do without lowering the tone, if one chooses to.

Galdownunder · 08/10/2024 21:12

I’m just glad I’m not the only one thinking she looks like a trans woman now. I can’t unsee it.

How is comparing her hair to Russell brand hairstyle derogatory, what’s wrong with his hair style? He has long hair, mid parting, waves and curls

I never at any point said she didn’t suit the style, it wasn’t nice etc. I compared one person with that hairstyle to another person with a similar hairstyle.

You see what you want so see. Don’t project onto others

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 08/10/2024 21:18

If that is minimal makeup, I'm a cauliflower. And she is a beautiful woman with great figure but I've seen her in more flattering styles, I'm not keen on the strange cut of the bodice, I don't think it works for her at all

But this is entirely about Meghan and her individual hair style on this occasion?

Meghan is a woman who has been in the public eye intensively for many years now. She’s been photographed with her hair in numerous different lengths and styles. How can it be racist to express a view that the way she has chosen to style it on this occasion is similar to another celebrity’s style? Or even that some posters prefer other styles she has previously sported? We all know, and have plenty of visual evidence, that she can and has worn her hair many other ways - this style is a choice she has made clearly.

Uricon2 · 08/10/2024 22:01

I actually think that her hair and makeup were fine. Yes, shes clearly had work done but so many do now it isn't an issue.

That awful dress and the whole shooting match around the event, not so much.

Comparing a woman to a man is traditionally seen as a negative thing, as an insult.

Why compare her to Russell brand at all?

Not needed

Thought you were talking about this thread then, for a minute 😂

But yes I agree, it was a really inappropriate comment to make about a black woman's hair.

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 08/10/2024 23:31

I know I’m late to the party but what the fuck has she done to her face? She used to be so pretty but over the past few years she has really gone over the top with procedures and she looks so old and haggard for her age. I actually prefer the rounder face look she had after she was pregnant with Archie. Pregnancy really softened her features. She’s always been such a naturally pretty woman, I find it so sad that she’s felt the need to do this to herself.

Is it a negative insult?
Russell brands style always had the touch of feminine. The scarfs, jewellery and long hair.

Her hairstyle is very similar to his, therefore, I commented as such. its her choice how she styles her hair, it’s my choice how choice to see it.

This really seems have to rattled some posters. I’m guessing you all must see it too, otherwise, why comment?

Do you think she has done this to herself or is it the result of seemingly millions of people against her?

What would YOU look like if you were this woman and millions claimed to hate you?

OpalStork · 08/10/2024 23:54

She looks stunning!

Denimgirl · 09/10/2024 00:39

Gorgeous woman and friend by all accounts. Long time supporter of the hospital also. It was a surprise for the photographers when she turned up but Meghan (who needs a title before a name that is known the world over) was invited by the CEO of the hospital.

I am so bad at recognising "work" unless it is obvious ( & I think CC's Is ) . I just thought M had lost a lot of weight and much of it had come off her face. I think she looked "Prettier" when she had a bit more weight - but I don't think she is unattractive now - I think for people saying she looks a bit masculine - she just has a bit more of an Emily Maitliss sort of attractiveness.

I still think she as mad as a box of frogs 😊- please any one report if this is considered unkind.

@TofeeFurs

"But making derogatory comments about a black (mixed race / African American) woman's hair is not on. While the poster probably doesn't have any racist intention, it's a really inappropriate comment."

Why is this the case?
Is it inappropriate to talk about Beyoncé's hair ?
Or Kim Kardashian's?
Or the Princess of Wales hair?
