Meg’s era of joy

Triplesec · 06/10/2024 22:40

Showing up to support her very close friend who lost her child and also the children’s hospital at an evening gala. What a friend to have in the Duchess. Meghan was glowing, fresh faced, wore minimal makeup, was confidant and smiley. She was well spoken and supportive of the evening fund raiser when interviewed. Show Up, Do Good. Yes, she always does. Loved her look too.

The critical posts are usually well-argued and precise, they choose words carefully and on the whole are moderate and considered

Does that include pictures of Meghan's feet and laughing about bunions?
I've seen too many pics of her feet and wouldn't call them 'moderate' or 'considered'

I haven't seen anyone even mention her feet - except to wonder whether she was wearing the exact same shoes as Lizzie Cundy.

stillavid · 07/10/2024 17:46

I think criticism of Meghan or Kate's appearance is always odd - I mean come on they are both objectively gorgeous women!

I would love to know details of their diets/exercise/botox regime etc because I am nosey and do not for one minute think it is down to drinking lots of water. I love an injectable myself so no judgement from me at all.

Not on this thread but plenty of pictures on other critical threads. As the poster talked in general about such posters, I replied generally too

stillavid · 07/10/2024 17:47

Regarding Meghan's feet - she has a fabulous shoe collection! I am very much on the shallow end of RF watching and just like the sparkly stuff and 'fun' gossip.

Roundthemoon · 07/10/2024 17:02

Yeah she was very successful in suits.

Suits was actually a very well made show. I enjoyed it.

I watched a couple of episodes but couldn't do more. Analysed why and think it's because it's really 'choppy'. Each scene is incredibly short and it makes the whole thing very disjointed. Also the mouth stretchy LA accents are annoying.

Much prefer the likes of LA Law (blast from the past 😁) and The Good Wife/Fight ad far as legal dramas go.

Roundthemoon · 07/10/2024 16:54

Yes that's how mumsnet works.

As you well know, people are allowed to report your posts.

That's how the system works on here.

Then stop lying by saying you weren’t trying to police my posts when in fact you were doing your utmost to try to get it deleted.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 07/10/2024 17:57

Roundthemoon · 07/10/2024 16:50

Why are you jumping on a conversation that I had with someone nearly an hour ago?

Come up with your own original thought. It's nothing to do with you.

And again, I don't have to do anything that I don't want to do for that poster. And I won't be bullied into it.

Trying to control when and what posters write now I see. Where are the racist posts by the way? We are all waiting with baited breath.

Ally McBeal!

FloofPaws · 07/10/2024 18:15

I'm prefer Law and Order SVU, mix of legal and policing

I’ve never seen any posts like that on MN with pics of her feet. 🤷‍♀️

AnnieMcFanny · 07/10/2024 18:23

I’m another one for Law and Order SUV. I watch an episode in bed every morning whilst waiting for dawn to break.

Hughs · 07/10/2024 18:24

And in a different vein because UK not USA, not forgetting the brilliant This Life.

Roundthemoon · 07/10/2024 17:06

Anyone else that's still here.

What did you think of Suits if you watched it?

I've watched a couple of seasons, not at the time I didn't have the right channels when it was first released, but a couple of years ago.

It was like any TV programme that has a gimic in its premise, fun at first but got a little repetitive. That isn't supposed to be negative load of series do the same and i rarely watch them to the end unless i really love the characters and their relationships (I'm thinking of Person of Interest here).

The Suits cast was fine but I don't think it's a coincidence that very few of them have done much since, no one really stood out to me except Rick Hoffman and Sarah Rafferty, they had interesting roles and caught my attention, but I did just have to look their names up.

Meghan did a competent job and to have even a recurring role in a series that runs for several seasons is much better than most actors achieve. It means in acting terms she was successful. I can see why she didn't go further though. I've seen her in several different TV roles and I don't find she has that extra something that allows an actor to leap onto the next level. But as I say she is still successful having achieved the level she did.

Are the racists posts in the room with us?

Hughs · 07/10/2024 18:27

And Trial and Retribution for a mix of policing and lawyering.

I'm going to try Law and Order SVU, I've never seen it. Funnily enough (because I do watch other things apart from legal dramas) I am watching the Lincoln Lawyer on NF at the mo.

MissRoseDurward · 07/10/2024 18:32

I watched a couple of episodes of Suits because Gina Torres, Zoe from Firefly, was in it. But it didn't grab me enough to want to watch any more. I didn't remember MM at all when we first heard of her as H's new girlfriend.

I liked the original Law & Order.

But in the US cop show/legal show genre, Hill Street Blues will always be top.

I loved 'The Secret Life of Us' (Australian 20 something drama)

Someone said she was on screen for an average of 2 mins per episode over the wholes series. No 6 on the roll-call. So not 'main character' as the YP say.

LaMarschallin · 07/10/2024 18:54

Tried to have a quick read over this, but...
What exactly is "Meg's era of joy"?
The OP titles the thread as above then the following post is:

"Showing up to support her very close friend who lost her child and also the children’s hospital at an evening gala. What a friend to have in the Duchess. Meghan was glowing, fresh faced, wore minimal makeup, was confidant and smiley. She was well spoken and supportive of the evening fund raiser when interviewed. Show Up, Do Good. Yes, she always does. Meghan's "era of joy" is one night showing up to support "her very close friend" "What a friend" (good, that's nice, Meg has a friend), with minimal makeup while being "well spoken"?
Quite an achievement.
And quite a short "era".

pilates · 07/10/2024 18:58

I did wonder that too @LaMarschallin 😂

Puzzledandpissedoff · 07/10/2024 19:02

What exactly is "Meg's era of joy"?

Same as the "summer of love" but longer, @LaMarschallin? Wink

Even in California summer's come to and end so I suppose they had to coin another phrase. Coming soon:
Winter of Winning
Holidays of Hope
Spring of Success
etc, etc

Citrusandginger · 07/10/2024 19:10

Goodness what a ding dong.

I can completely understand how Meghan, who looked beautiful and healthy when her and Harry got together would want to have treatments to hang on to her looks. Totally normal when you have a public profile. What I can't for the life of me understand is why she is trying to out skinny Kate and have longer, straighter hair than Kate. The psychology fascinated me. Why not be the best version of herself?

It's like Michael Jackson trying to become Diana Ross. Except that MJ liked DR.

What forums, do you mean pics of her feet have been posted on Mumsnet?
