Meg’s era of joy

Showing up to support her very close friend who lost her child and also the children’s hospital at an evening gala. What a friend to have in the Duchess. Meghan was glowing, fresh faced, wore minimal makeup, was confidant and smiley. She was well spoken and supportive of the evening fund raiser when interviewed. Show Up, Do Good. Yes, she always does. Loved her look too.

I think when she looks in the mirror what she sees is very different to what the vast majority of others see. She doesn’t see the badly fitted/inappropriate or creased item. It’s not a one-off, it happens all the time.

She turns up at these red carpet events/faux royal tours 100% convinced she’s got it right and is ‘photo ready’ but the reality is somewhat different. Does she have a stylist?

Or maybe be she has surrounded herself with ‘yes’ people who can’t/wont speak up (for whatever reason 😉).

It’s all a bit of a mystery.

As a slight aside, I find the repeated accusations of "jealousy" tedious and juvenile, as if it isn't possible to have a negative opinion without it being a factor.

Absolute playground stuff.

Isn’t it just.

Yes, and it's invariably directed at women. I've never heard men being casually accused of being 'jealous' of random famous men.

And what exactly is it about Meghan that we're meant to be jealous of? Getting to sleep with Harry? Her dazzling career? Her close family values?

I say the same about the tedious comments about someone is now fawning over her just because they don't write a negative post.

Absolute playground stuff don't you agree

The facts being that Harry wouldn't be capable of holding down a minimum wage job? That fact you mean?

Unpleasant and nasty and not 'fact' and thank you for qualifying that to be unlikely about Harry

Meghan...'an ageing minor actress'. 😮

Meghan was an ageing minor actress. I don’t see how you can say that isn’t fact. Similarly that she wasn’t well known until she got together with Harry. Also fact.

JADS · 07/10/2024 16:40

Sorry for the derail, but...

@BigWillyLittleTodger I am jealous of Susie Wolff too. Aside from Toto, she is smart and successful and she is pushing at the doors to open up motor sports to women. She seems super content with her life. She got to race karts against Lewis Hamilton and they seem to get on really well.

She was interviewed by the Red Flags podcast and I'm now even more in awe of her. Really interesting listen.

Apologies.

Who knows what she would have done. I find it ageist and dismissive but we're all entitled to our opinions

Roundthemoon · 07/10/2024 15:24

She had a very nice life before she met Harry.

It wasn't enough for her greedy-ness!! she
Came To the UK to bag herself a wealthy footballer - bet she thought she'd hit the jackpot with a prince! Shame it's more about grace and favour to that level of RF, plus HMQ saw right through her. After flagrantly pushing boundaries with protocol, time after time, bullying staff, being grabby, trying to elevate herself abusing a title that she has literally no point in having as she does nothing, she's proven she's unable to cut it either as a decent actress
Or as a 'whatever it is she's trying to be this week'

Puzzledandpissedoff · 07/10/2024 16:47

I'm not trawling back through the whole thread ...

You don't need to, @Roundthemoon
Someone asked if you'd reported what you considered racist posts and you replied that you had, so they'll be right there in your message box with no need to spend any more time than it takes to click on it

Why are you jumping on a conversation that I had with someone nearly an hour ago?

Come up with your own original thought. It's nothing to do with you.

And again, I don't have to do anything that I don't want to do for that poster. And I won't be bullied into it.

That could be said for anyone but we’re dealing in facts not supposition. She had been striving for fame for a long time without success. Fact.

Well, I know when someone criticises Kate (as they frequently do) the immediate response is not predictably "You're jealous". The use of it has been very noticeable on this thread, though.

As far as "fawning" goes, plenty of accusations of that levelled at those who broadly support the rest of the RF, often very impolitely expressed. Often accompanied by "grovelling" and that old favourite, "forelock tugging".

ET clarify, by "rest" I'm not including Andrew, although it shouldn't need saying.

She was paid very well for Suits.

She was successful.

Before I answer your question, are you going to answer the questions I and others have asked you?

Which is to provide evidence for the very serious accusations you tossed out at the posters here in general?

Roundthemoon · 07/10/2024 16:54

BigWillyLittleTodger · 07/10/2024 16:26

In case you have forgotten you claim to have reported my post, so yes that is trying to police what I write, clearly you are most upset it is still there, honestly get a grip, and for your information the only woman I am “Jealous “ of is Susie Wolff who is married to my celebrity crush Toto, I’m really not envious of a woman who has to wake up beside Prince Harry, would put me right off my Weetabix. P.S I also greatly admire Susie she’s fab! Just in case you actually think I am sitting here sticking pins into pictures of Susie.

One jealous post that stands out in my memory, and I believe is early on this thread.
One poster said "meghan looks great"
And another poster instantly nastily replied
"What, you mean the nose job"?
This whole thread should be reported for bullying and cruelty

Yes I did.

Yes that's how mumsnet works.

As you well know, people are allowed to report your posts.

That's how the system works on here.

What?

Earning about $3m from Suits is no success?

@Roundthemoon is special, @Puzzledandpissedoff - she challenges other posters asking for evidence but won't provide any evidence herself. It's almost as if there isn't any..
So she's happy to bandy about accusations of racism, but can't actually point to a single racist post. I'd be embarrassed into name changing I reckon.

What?

Earning about $3m from Suits is no success?

No, not if it didn’t lead to anything else. I’m not here to criticise her previous career but success in her world generally means going on to other better roles. That wasn’t happening for her.

Again we see that you're all about the kindness! Be kind!

No I do get it. You casually made up accusations of racism and when pressed, as you absolutely should be when making such a serious accusation, you said you reported them. However, very few posts on this thread have been deleted, and those don't appear to have been related to racism. So either you didn't report any posts, or the forum management, who have zero tolerance for racism, didn't agree with you.

So I think it's safe to say your accusations don't need to be taken seriously.

I think it's you who has quite the strange posts.

Embarrassed into name changing!

I'm not embarrassed at all.

I could point out , yet again, that I answered the racism point many pages ago. But you don't want to listen, so what's the point.

Bullies will keep on and on and on.

Thats the style. You don't upset me.

Isn’t it just.

I've been reading the RF board for a couple of years and it jumps out at me that the posters who are skeptical about H & M are so much more articulate than their adoring fans. The critical posts are usually well-argued and precise, they choose words carefully and on the whole are moderate and considered.

The pro-H & M posters tend to ignore the direction of the discussion and just post fan stuff, usually about Meghan's glamorous appearance. They just state and re-state that she's marvellous. But actually - I think I actually groan less at those the contributions of the poster who just pastes in endless links - as if anyone's going to read them! And - as if that contributes anything to a serious discussion! Yes, very nice dress - so what?

And the endless same old questions...please see previous threads where every possible Sugary or SS or Meghan fan question has been answered multiple times. I've got a question for them, though, but I don't suppose anyone will answer it: why do you love Meghan so much? It sounds simple-minded, but honestly - it baffles me why this mediocre, minor actress would interest anyone if she weren't married to a royal and if she hadn't kicked up a stink of historic proportions, akin to that of the Abdication Crisis! I expect it boils down to 'She's so pretty, and wears such lovely clothes!'

Uricon2 · 07/10/2024 17:02

It seems we only get one shot each at calling out what @Roundthemoon says @IcedPurple , even when it's accusations of racism. It must be a new MN rule I think.
