'High quality counsel' that's a bit of a stretch! she should have left when she originally quit, they clearly paid her to stay on at that time.

It's really lousy timing for this announcement, immediately after the employee bullying disclosures, and the spin they are trying to put on it is amusing. Likely the retention package expired at a very inconvenient time and she was not staying a minute longer as their employee.

Agree - and I remember that her hair was even similar - bit dishevelled - not the sleeked back and groomed power look - full on costume drama.

When i first read it i thought well, MM and LC have fallen out so take it with a pinch of salt. And then i recalled MM is famously litigious and would have immediately released a dozen photos of networking and eating and so forth so I think it is clear she was ther only for the red carpet and then scarpered. Thing is, she is just coming across as self serving and rude to the other celebs when they are the cohort whose goodwill she needs to rely on for her ‘career’.

Turning up at a Charity event then scarpering isn't exactly doing anything to rehabilitate her image.

Did she honestly think that wouldn't be noticed?

Did she pay to use their event for her own purposes?
It's just so weird. Who would actually trust he or want to be seen anywhere near her?

I don't think she was acting (she's not that good), she was genuinely terrified. When Catherine fixed her with the death stare she fell behind Harry for protection and as she advanced towards the crowd her knees were visibly knocking. She got off lightly imo, one woman was filmed refusing to shake her hand but unless there were others not filmed I think most people were kindly disposed or perhaps respectful of The Queen and the reason behind the occasion.

It's hilarious in a grim kind of way on Celebitchy today - someone DARED to gently suggest that Meghan didn't stay for the whole shebang...and they got piled on for it.

It's like a cult on there. They are seriously strange people - and I fear they're in for a huge trauma if the trajectory for Meghan continues to plummet. It's like believing in the Divine Right of Kings or absolute Papal Infallibility. Or the Spanish Inquisition!! They'd be burning 'trolls' (ie truth tellers) at the stake if they could.

Imagine if all celebs made a regular habit of doing the red carpet and then scarpering at charity events. All the organising of tables and catering and left with a half empty room and a pile of wasted food!

And I also thought she looked fragile, both physically and mentally. I'm sure even hard-nosed Meghan will have been affected by the damaging stories of bullying. She was probably OK with appearing in her finery, whilst clinging desperately to that woman - who looked very uncomfortable! But the thought of sitting down to dinner and having to converse with people in the light of recent issues (and without Harry) probably frightened her, even if she did have an invitation.

I agree with this. Everything seemed a little off, she was nervous.

So it’s Meghan, Kelly and another woman on the red carpet. Meghan says something to the woman in red, the woman in red retorts back, Meghan pisses herself laughing while the other two are looking at the camera smiling away….she then shouts ‘whoah’, takes a deep breath and then stares down the camera.
She looks drunk, in particular standing next to the two woman who clearly aren’t.

This is an important lesson that I just don't think Meghan has learned.

Don't shit on people on the way up, you never know when you will need them. No LC fan, but she absolutely deserved this little bit of petty revenge!

It’s really hard to make out what’s they are saying.

I think meghan is maybe making a snarky joke to the woman in the red dress, she seems to be looking down at her dress. Could be a reference to them both wearing red, I don’t know. But the woman looks kinda shocked. When Meg says whatever she says, Kelly instantly looks to the other woman. Kelly doesn’t laugh. The woman expresses some sort of shock and says something but quickly looks to the camera and smiles. Both Kelly and the woman are focused on the camera. Meghan however, is doubled over laughing at the joke she’s made (classic drunken behaviour), it’s then so clear she tries to compose herself by shouting ‘whoa’ like she’s lightheaded or something.

To me it looks like she’s had a couple drinks to settle her nerves, her behaviour is so striking compared to the other two women.

No they will be fine. They have the same goldfish mind-sets of those drawn to conspiracy theories - they will just move on to the next one when this one expires.

It's not just that they wouldn't raise much money. If you've ever been to a Charity dinner, it's all about trying to get money out of you.

Donation envelope at each place - usually connected to a raffle.
Auction for various things, rounds of golf, tickets to places, driving days.
Sometimes games, that you pay to enter.
The last Charity dinner I was at was for a local hospice, raised £20k.

I can only imagine how much Charity dinners must raise with a bunch of millionaires.

She’s a royal duchess! A Royal Duchess!!! She generously graced them with her highly important royal presence and raised the profile of the whole event by merely showing her face.
Honestly, turned up for a photo op and scarpered! Don’t you know who she is? Their official real royal office have even put a photo out and everything.

I remember waking up to the vague memory of placing a winning bid of £400 for a cricket bat at a charity ball auction. The morning after the night before wasn’t pretty and I had a cricket bat that I didn’t know what to do with! 😂 all in a good cause. It takes more than showing up on the red carpet and getting your photo taken to support.

Hahaha, give it to someone for Christmas or donate it for another Charity Auction. Charity dinners are about raising cash. And auctioning random things that can't be purchased on Amazon.

Her only saving grace would be if she's given a substantial donation for the pleasure of using their red carpet for a photo Op, but somehow I doubt it.

I had posted something similar about a donation from them or from Archewell upthread I think. We would absolutely have heard about any donation made. But we haven’t because there wasn’t one.

You don't take someone out to an event when they haven't got a ticket. This was purely a red carpet capture moment at short notice.

So Kelly wasn't at their wedding six years ago, yet they've been 'really close for ten years'. Nothing about Meghan makes any sense because absolutely everything about her is made up. From her washing up liquid nonsense to her speaking Spanish and singing in Dolphin - it's all bullshit.

I dont think so Kelly relatively recently lost her healthy vibrant young child out of the blue in a matter of hours to meningitis and covid - shes a devastated and bereaved mother and this event must be very painful for her.
