Delighted to see Catherine has finished chemo and starting to go back to work. <3 So is it ok to have a "fun" thread again about her style?

In today's video I noticed this is the 2nd time she's been wearing this "new" sapphire and diamond eternity ring. Looking at the picture of her hand in the wheatfield, it looks to me like it simply replaces the Diana engagement ring. So she still wears her wedding band in its normal place, ie closest to the knuckle, then this new ring, then her original eternity ring that I think she got when Prince George was born.

The pic of her in the stripy top taken a couple of weeks ago - it looks like a gold wedding band top AND bottom with the orig and new eternity rings in the middle. So a stack of FOUR rather than three? Can't see it clearly - any thoughts?

Do we think she got the new eternity ring for their 10 yr anniversary 3 years ago? Or is it a more recent purchase?

Apparently she's changed it again recently though, to a bigger central stone. But I couldn't find any decent pictures of that so not sure. Removing the original central stone from Botswana would change the meaning quite a bit I think.

Agree the Aquamarine ring is gorgeous, but it looks amazing on Diana and a bit so so on Meghan. I think the issue is that Diana had very long fingers so a big bling piece worked well for her. Both her DILs have smaller fingers/hands and suit smaller rings. I thought Harry did a good job with Meghan's engagement ring. I think the Diana diamonds were a nice touch.

Diana was quite statuesque I believe. Not many people could have carried off the frou frou wedding dress as well as she did. Same with her engagement ring, it looks too big for Kate's hand because she much more willowy.

I did too. It was fascinating. I was mesmerised just thinking about its history and that wedding day. It looks much lighter in the photos than it is in reality.

I don't think Meghan would have wanted it tbh - especially as she's altered the one she got at least twice already.

Though it would have given her more Diana vibes to cling to!

I was about to say she'd crawl over her own grandmother to get it but, well, we all know how she treats her family anyway so that probably isn't saying much!

I mean Meghan went HIKING in the California Hills flaunting Diana's gold Cartier watch.

I was a wee girl in the 1980s and I loved Diana's dress. (Obviously my tastes changed as I got older and styles moved on).

But I was VERY confused as to how a PWINCESS could have short hair!!! That is not what they looked like in my books of fairy tales!

I think people largely liked it at the time. I did. My own wedding dress a few years later had a lot in common with Diana's. Not as voluminous, much shorter train and not as creased, plus a different colour, but very much of it time. I also had a mahoosive bow across my arse.... sure you can't see it in the photos!!

@Runnerinthenight hopefully she would only have been given it on the condition she didn't make any permanent changes to it (so like an insert adjusting the size would be ok). That stipulation would have come from William. Quite rightly. Because in a divorce he/the Crown would want it back. Given it's not just any old ring, it's got historical significance and will probably be in a museum one day.

Having said all that, I think as the elder brother and heir to the throne, William/his wife should always have had it, regardless of which brother married first.

I think I would throw up in my own mouth if I saw Meghan wearing Diana's ring. And more so if I were William!

I don’t think she would have changed it. It was the sainted Diana’s ring and as she seems to want to be Diana 2.0 she would have kept it exactly the same. It is so distinctive after all. She would probably have said that the ring carried the spirit of Diana or some such bollocks and it would have been
yet another way for her to “communicate” with her late MiL 😆

I love the contrast between the totally overblown Princess gown and her very natural hair and makeup. By today’s standards anyway.
I know it was a trendy style in 1981 but she stuck with it a long time. I always felt her hair was a bit dated until she separated from Charles and made it a bit more modern.

Yes you are right, lots of people loved it. It was just that the designers made so many basic errors with the design I don't know why they got trade afterwards.

Maybe. Though I think her determination to have everything her own way might well have led to her altering the shank to add diamonds, the way she did to her own? I can't imagine her having any reverence for the historical significance of the ring, because she doesn't 'get' or care about history.
