The royals struck a deal with Major's government thirty odd years ago exempting sovereign to sovereign bequests from IHT. Nothing to do with supporting their 'work'. Everything to do with preserving their entirely undeserved wealth in its entirety.

The Sovereign grant replaced the Civil List and is very much reduced.

The Civil List was at least debated however half-heartedly and it was a fixed amount. SG is not debated and is a percentage of Crown Estate profits. Part of the deal for the SG was that it would never be reduced hence the royals were cushioned from Covid related hits to their income as Crown Estate profits dropped. They now also stand to benefit from massive windfalls from offshore turbines etc located on shorelines landgrabbed by TLQ back in the 60's.

Heelgate is old news. People on reddit have been posting photos showing how H is wearing lifts for years. It was obvious back when he was on the Colbert show. A quick Google will bring up loads of photos.
