Welcome to Part 7 of our positive threads, where we explore all things Meghan and Harry. From the causes they champion and their business ventures to Meghan’s (and occasionally Harry’s 😉) fashion moments, there’s a lot to chat about. This is a drama-free space, so let’s keep it upbeat! High five to @queentim for the original inspiration.

Well the monarchy receives the sovereign grant to cover all costs associated with their royal duties 🙄 so any royal undertaking royal duties will have any costs associated for it covered by that money. So if they were working royals undertaking royal duties then the same rules apply.

So you'd be happy to cover private jets to and from the UK on a semi-regular or regular basis?!!

Are you mad?!!

Bontonbonbon · 04/10/2024 20:04

That’s really interesting @serenster I’d forgotten about that little bit of chicanery in their statement.

It was always impossible. Not just for them but for any of the RF. It might have been possible decades ago but not with the change over from the Civil List to the Sovereign Grant. They had their heads turned by the prospect of billions in media deals which have turned out to be pie in the sky figures. If they’d been patient then they’d probably have been gifted an estate by the Queen (from her own funds) to use as an income. It’s what they all have to do now. Charles runs Highgrove as a business. Ditto Gatcombe, which is a world centre for horse trials and breeding.

Of course William is more intelligent and better educated! He's a graduate while Harry has a couple of shit A levels!

Infinitely better looking!

An inch - well size doesn't matter?!

He's more popular because he's loyal to his family and hasn't shat across their reputation right across the globe!

Looks are in the eye of the beholder.

One inch on height when you are over 6ft is laughable to try and score points but it did amuse me

As far as the family, just opinion again!

This thread is so funny!

myrtleWilson · 04/10/2024 20:10

Can you be lauded as a 'fucking grifter', asking for a friend?

Polling in the UK puts only Andrew below the Sussexes

So It's an opinion pretty widely shared

More intelligent. Really? Let's not go back to A levels please! Who knows

Hard to argue with ABC vs B (with the help of his teacher) D but ok.

Better educated. See above.

William has a degree, Harry has BD at A level.

Better looking. That's all a matter of taste

True.

Taller. That's so so funny to imagine the difference of 1 inch when you're over 6' anyway, is an attribute? Seriously?!

I included that because rumour has it that it bothers Harry to the point where he started to wear lifts in his shoes, poor dab, so fragile 🤦‍♀️

Could you please link a reputable source to lifts in his shoes?

Ta!

William could be doing a lot more work than we know

'Could' being the operative word!

Mylovelygreendress · 04/10/2024 20:28

@BustingBaoBun

Google is your friend ( have been longing to say that !!)

“Could” in this case just means we don’t know. Is there any reason you are so determined that William doesn’t do any work apart from the fact that the Sussexes and there supporters have decided this is the case?

Hughs · 04/10/2024 20:30

Well it's not in The Times if that's what you want (hence my use of the word "rumour") - I'm sure if you have a little search you'll find someone has posted some photos.

Your and your mate's posts certainly are!

How can you possibly say "opinion" in relation to how they have treated the RF when all the evidence is out there in the public domain, mostly in their own words?

I wouldn't be laughing if I were you. I'd be embarrassed.

Are you so determined that they do other than the fact that you and other William fans have decided he does alot behind the scenes we don't see. Yet noone actually knows

I don't make the rules about what the sovereign grant pays for. It pays for any expenses associated with doing their duties if that covers transport so be it.

As you are equally determined that William doesn't do a lot of work, when you don't know that either?

If "noone [sic] actually knows" wtf do you keep parroting that he's lazy? You're contradicting yourself and twisting things to suit your narrative!

Could
Could not

Typical swerve! Such tunnel vision!

So you're content then too with everything else the sovereign grant pays for, because you "don't make the rules"?

You've changed your tune since 20 to 7 then?

"And we can see how little work William does and has done compared tp the other royal since the number fo engagements they do is published. And noone can say anything about work done in private since noone knows own so all we can definitely say is based on what is publicly available".

Do better!

Fascinating to think a guy who is 6ft2 would wear lifts in his shoes! 🤣

IcedPurple · 04/10/2024 20:48

The weird obsession with how much certain royals do or do not 'work' sounds very like a certain American hate site which is bitchy about celebrities.

Yes.

The problem is not that Harry isn't tall. He is.

The problem is that William is taller.

He'll be playing baseball in the US next!
