Welcome to Part 7 of our positive threads, where we explore all things Meghan and Harry. From the causes they champion and their business ventures to Meghan’s (and occasionally Harry’s 😉) fashion moments, there’s a lot to chat about. This is a drama-free space, so let’s keep it upbeat! High five to @queentim for the original inspiration.

Yeah, take your blinkers off.

And your rose-coloured, Mills & Boon specs!

Hope you are a better judge of character and behaviour in real life.

'Everytime I dip into these boards I am bewildered by the number of threads and posts obsessively commenting on every detail of anything M&H do and don't do. Folks, they left the RF close to 5 years ago!'

Because it's fascinating to watch them operate. And hilarious. It's interesting to see how they manipulate their supporters, and are in turn being used but are too daft or too arrogant/hubristic to see it.

Of course they didn't leave the Royal Family - as the late Queen assured us, they remain much loved members. And remind everyone of that every time they use their titles.

Yes, they've stepped back from duties, but leaving The Firm isn't the same as leaving the family, not does it make you immune from comments (see everything about Diana, also Andrew; plus all those who have never been working royals, such as all the other grandchildren)

PS: if the board leaves you bewildered, you could always hide it.

Exactly! You watch the videos and then you come on here...and lo and behold, the smoke and mirrors has worked on a depressing number of people.

I think the incident with the Colombian lady and the arm on the back of the chair was definitely Harry showing how utterly pissed off he was with Meghan and her travelling show. You can see her sitting next to him, staring determinedly straight ahead, rictus in place, while Harry has his little rebellion.

No idea what was behind it but it was disrespectful to Meghan and the Interpreter - I was surprise so many posters thought it fine.

It wouldn't be fine IME to be either woman especially not when it's so public so even saying anything politely is bloody hard. I wouldn't blame Megan for looking upset with it TBH. It gave vague air of rapidly aging middle age bloke in denial who deludes himself into thinking every women he comes in contact with fancies him cause he still thinks of himself as young and fit.

Happily married for 32 years 👍

Everytime I dip into these boards

"I dip into".

It's one of those irregular verbs, isn't it?

I "dip into".
You "are obsessed".
They "need therapy".

Well she's an actress and he's under strict orders, so....

She can do the grin most of the time, but he's beginning to give zero fs. I think. She has more to do these days in keeping him in line with her agenda.

Miaow 😋

If you watch the video, it's bizarre how rigidly Meghan is sitting and grinning straight ahead. Harry has positioned himself in a quite discourteously man-spreading way, turning slightly away from her and towards the other lady. He has his arm along the back of this woman's chair and she looks distinctly uncomfortable too - sitting upright, but I think, not for the same reasons as Meghan. He also does quite a bit of whispering in her ear.

I think this just shouts 'Harry's trying to wind up Meghan and she's determinedly not looking at what he's doing.' I cannot fathom why else he would so blatantly put his arm along the woman's chair - it looks terrible on number of levels! I think he was royally pissed off with her and this was his way of showing it.

CoffeeCantata · 23/08/2024 15:30

I read that the lady wasn't an interpreter but the curator or director of a museum they were visiting. But happy to be corrected if anyone knows for sure.

Miaow 😋

What does "Miaow" followed by what appears to be a "Yummy" emoji actually mean?
I get "Miaow" presumably implies you think the post is catty, but what's the 😋 doing?
Have you got it mixed up with the 😛?

A lot of pro-H&M posters (I presume not all are Sussex Squad; I don't know) seem to use emojis very strangely.
I'd love an explanation but won't hold my breath.

The Vanity Fair article is quite funny - full of inaccuracies and falling over themselves to gush over Harry and Meghan. It does read as a paid for puff piece.

Meghan 'delivered remarks' 😁. For 'remarks' read 'the usual waffly word salad':
"Because we are in your country my husband and I can feel this embrace from Colombia—it’s incredible,” she said. “The culture, the history—all of it was a dream— this trip was a dream. I can feel this community and this is the feeling that is the best thing right now.”

'The duchess connected earnestly with a group of regular people in a country other royals might not have been able to visit, at least not in an official capacity...' - so VF either didn't do their research or are deliberately ignoring Sophie's visit highlighting the fight against VAWG.

' For the last few years, Meghan and Harry have visited classrooms across the US and the UK, and Meghan has given similar remarks about the importance of female empowerment in cities from Los Angeles to Austin to Abuja, Nigeria.'
Well, they haven't visited classrooms in the UK for a good while, and while there are several comments in the VF article about them' giving remarks' (which is an odd phrase), weirdly, the 'remarks' are never articulated.

I've read the article twice and it really is a load of puffed up flim-flam which actually tells us very little.

She needs to go away and 'feel' her head! What a load of codswallop"

I'm relieved to see Meg looking so much better, brighter and healthier.
Last month (I don't know if she'd been ill) she didn't quite look well.
She's bounced back and looks lovely.

And they're obviously so happy together and still so much in love.

Kudos to the both of them during extremely hateful, bullying times.
A very strong couple, love and admire them.

Why????

I reckon Harry and Meg have got through the worst part of the social media hounding and have now risen above it.

So happy, we might even see another baby?

God they can't do that - they've already won an award for selflessly only procreating twice!!!

The onslaught of negativity regarding 'irrelevant', 'attention-seeking nobodies' M&H's trip to Colombia (on what is meant to be a positive thread!) is just hilarious to watch....

Everytime I dip into these boards I am bewildered by the number of threads and posts obsessively commenting on every detail of anything M&H do and don't do. Folks, they left the RF close to 5 years ago!

The irony is that it's those that claim to have nothing but contempt for M&H that are the most passionately following and commenting on everything they do, to the extent of ignoring anything else of substance relating to the British RF, e.g. recent reports of how they continue to enrich themselves at the taxpayers' expense, or continue to tolerate Prince Andrew...

Remember the media and social media frenzy when Duchess Sophie visited Colombia just 8 months ago? The lengthy commentary about her security? The 12 threads on MN's RF board, each reaching 1000 posts, commenting on everything she said, every hand and eye movement she made, the significance (and cost) of every outfit and piece of jewelry she wore, etc etc etc etc?...

Of course folks don't remember, 'coz it never happened! Makes one wonder who really are the irrelevant nobodies, and who are the super-stars of the British RF... 🤔😆

Because the Duchess of Edinburgh is a classy lady who doesn't make everything about her, unlike this superficial pair!!

I don’t think there has been a media frenzy around the Sussexes’ visit. The media coverage has been fairly thin, in line with content.

If HRH the Duchess of Edinburgh was a lying hypcritical attention whore I’m sure there would be plenty of threads about it.

WinnieTheW0rm · 24/08/2024 07:17

The Duchess of Edinburgh was once the utterly reviled member of the RF, who was dragging down and besmirching them, and wasn't fit to be a part of it.

I think the "fake sheikh" scandal (remember, that was a tabloid sting) was a major reason why half in/half out could not be contemplated
