When members of the RF seek to undermine the UK I question the continuation of the monarchy

In my opinion Harry's Royal Tours are deliberately undermining both the RF and the UK government and interfering with international diplomacy.

I think the King needs to cast Harry adrift properly and in partnership with the government to remove all titles and privileges.

I don't think it's ok for H&M to trade on their status and privilege afforded to them by the UK to try to disrupt international relations. This affects all of us.

I think you've identified the point. Sophie's tours are not about her. She doesn't draw attention to herself, but the causes. H&M are all about their branding and they're controversial figures, so worth news outlets trying to get the clicks.
I think it's a shame though.

Quite

Even Harry knows better to even consider that one.

Are you sure?

No one in the rest of the world cares about the British monarchy so honestly don't worry about it!

Not even the countries where Charles is our Head of State? I think you'll find quite a lot of people 'care', one way or the other.

There's Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Jamaica for starters; and also Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Belize, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, and Tuvalu. He is also the Head of State of the Crown Dependencies of the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man (that are not in the UK) - Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man are self-governing possessions of the Crown.

I am a native of one of these countries and speak another language/dialect, as well as English, and I can assure you that we take a very great interest indeed in the governance of our nation - and I would suggest that it is ravingly colonial to try to trivialise this and imply that it might be otherwise.

Interesting, thanks @AutumnCrow .

Meanwhile Will & Kate did a fantastic job of diplomacy in Jamaica not long ago…

Youre giving all of these rich, useless idiots too much time. Stop reading the Daily Mail.

Funny isn’t how these completely new posters have such confidence in their opinions that they come onto a thread and start ordering long term posters around.

And generally make points that were discussed to death a few years ago.

And then ask, "Why are you still talking about this, it was X years ago, waaagh?!"

I find it a bit frustrating, can't imagine how people who've been here far long feel.

If Harry stops talking about the past I will.

How will he earn money?

That's the problem isn't it. He can't earn money from Invictus and nothing else is really working.

But it’s open season on Charles , Camilla and Diana which really was years ago!

DelectableMe · 19/08/2024 18:54

He'll have to think of more sausage victim based anecdotes.

DelectableMe · 19/08/2024 18:55

Perhaps he could "write" a book about how he was victimised because of "Spare"?

Oh yes! Spare, released a mere 20 months ago, is old news. Charles and Diana's engagement though? She was 19 and a sacrificial virgin, waaggh, he shouldn't be king!

😂Now that would be funny!

He could call it “Spare has driven me spare” with “waaagh” in parenthesis 🤪

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 19/08/2024 19:49

😂

Or, "How Spare made me feel like Number 2".

DelectableMe · 19/08/2024 19:58

Subtitle: I wrote an honest account of my life of hardship and woe, yet some people criticised it because most of it wasn't true.

JennyForeigner · 19/08/2024 20:00

Seems like a lot of unnecessary steps just to question the continuation of the monarchy when so many of us get straight there without a second thought.

I do think the Foreign Office/local British Embassy should issue a statement for every one of these visits making it clear they have no official connection to the BRF and government of the UK.

I agree. They don't represent the UK or the BRF and that should be made clear.
