Is that suppose to be the actual letter she wrote because that handwriting is extremely impressive? I would say that's more like the work of an adult who has learned calligraphy.

Americans learn quite neat writing. And girls writing tends to be neater than boys. It's not exceptional hand writing. Just neat. Certainly not beyond a 12 yo.

And this was a long time ago, we used to hand write everything then! I'm certain kids hand writing is much poorer these days , because 70+% of their work is done in a computer these days!

She has beautiful handwriting, and may have done back then.

But I'm sure this cannot be The Letter because she didn't keep it, she sent it. And the company doesn't seem to have any recollection of it, so I doubt that it (or any other letters of that sort) were archived for posterity

I suppose if it was in fact a school project, then I can see the kids having to write 2 copies of their letters: one to send, and one to stick up on the classroom wall/put in their work folders or something.

So it's maybe not out of the question that a copy has been kept by Meghan - but then that also gives more weight to the theory that it was a just a piece of schoolwork, rather than something than she did off her own bat...

The reason Meghan is not popular with the Williams family is because of her flirty behaviour. It's not liked by everyone. It's not a good impression.

@thecatsthecats in Meghan's defense, it's not unusual at all for Americans to go by their middle name.
DS went to school in the US and it was probably 50/50 amongst his friends on who used their first and who used their middle name.
Often a child will be given a family name for the first name and a middle name of their own which they are then known by. I don't know if that's the case for Meghan but I'd guess she's never been known as Rachel!

The letter writing was re-enacted by Meghan for the Nickolodean piece (by that time, the kids had already written and sent off their letters in school). It may well be the letter she was writing in the footage that has been kept.

I thought she changed it when she became an actress as there was already another actress with the name Rachel Markle when she applied for a union card.

I'm pretty sure in Revenge it says Doria liked the name Rachel, Thomas liked the name Meghan, Doria got her way with the first name, but Meghan was the name they ended up using day to day.

I haven't RTFT because after the Parents' Network (?) / CBS initiative I just can't with Meghan Markle anymore BUT, is it known what the point of this visit was? Why has it received any coverage? Was it an Invictus thing?

I can't think of any other private person or couple who does/do things like receive invitations from government officials/representatives, accept them, then publicize said visits. What's the point of it? If you're private, and you're not representing a charity (eg Angelina Jolie with her UN Rapporteur work) or sporting competition (any number of current and past sportsmen and women, and Harry & Meghan re Invictus) or literary prize (Salman Rushdie doing the rounds for this or that literary festival) or environmental initiative (Greta Thunberg) etc - what are you actually doing by drawing attention to your visit, other than publicising yourself by getting your photo in the papers? On this Colombia visit, it was 98% photos, 2% waffle about stuff that everyone reading the waffle already knows about.

By what metric was any of this interesting, beneficial, successful, useful, productive, noteworthy?
