“Explored the vibrant street market”

I say darling, did you notice? Masses of weird vegetables , knock off trainers and t shirts, but not a single stall selling delicious jam and hand crafted dog biscuits? I think we could be on to something here, if the President would give us free use of the Presidential jet once a month , we could easily run a stall remotely by paying a couple of locals to staff it. I think bringing delicious sweet treats and healthy dog munchies to an impoverished country with far too many abandoned dogs in it would give the poor Columbian people - with whom as a woman of colour I share so much history, culture and passion - the incentive to make something of themselves . We would be fulfilling the Archewell mission statements of empowering people and giving them both the strength and the impetus to improve and revolutionise their situation through hard work and building on historic cultural foundations. And jam.

😂😂👏👏

By the looks of it, they didn’t need anywhere near the level of security that they’ve had in Columbia. There’s been no interaction with the public at all. I haven’t seen any crowds or people out to greet them. It makes the convoy and over the top security look completely ridiculous. Even though they are in one of the most dangerous countries to be at the moment.

MummyJ12 · 18/08/2024 12:21

@viques, I love your way with words and clever humour!

AuroraCake · 18/08/2024 11:41

Hence why they want the security and why he is loosing his shit over it. It massively increases their costs.

How much security do they actually need though?

As opposed to how much security Harry's ego thinks they need?

From the Archewell website. Insert Kim Jong Un in various places and it’s hard to tell the difference.

Actually I've read several pieces like that recently by a poster here on MN. Basic bland recitation of facts that left me thinking "why?" Now I'm wondering if we have an Archewell contributor on here 😳😳😛😂

Vespanest · 18/08/2024 13:27

The desperation of them needing their security paid has led to the double edge sword, in showing the security on show in Colombia on how important they are is seriously going to impact other visits they have priced themselves out. Not sure how this benefits Colombia reputation

Valid points right there, Vespanest, though however satisfying a motorcade may have been to Harry's ego it's fair to say they've not "needed" so much security on other foreign trips, so Colombia needn't necessarily deter others from inviting them

As you say though, it was hardly a good advertisement for the place ...

Baital · 18/08/2024 13:59

There seems to be a lot of different outfits in a short period of time. It's almost as if it is a photo shoot rather than a serious humanitarian and philanthropic visit.

Very strange.

BemusedAmerican · 18/08/2024 14:01

Maybe she is sourcing coffee and tea to sell from ARO. I buy great organic Colombian breakfast tea from my tea company. They can write the trip off as a business expense.😁

BemusedAmerican · 18/08/2024 14:07

BTW, @Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar your posts are really informative. I was at work for most of yesterday and came on to catch up on the tour. Your comments were really helpful and entertaining.

I'm confused about why someone on the thread was complaining about wearing a Patagonia gilet. Patagonia has a great environmental record. Read this article about the founder and you can understand why I thought Kessler wouldn't last:

Duchess Meghan is wearing simple cream and white today she looks absolutely gorgeous (as per usual). Have you seen the article in the dm 😍. Her husband loves her 🌹

GotATextInColombia · 18/08/2024 14:13

It is just as well he loves her.

If he didn’t, he’d be hooped. It looks as though it would be difficult to escape that two handed grip.

He'd have to drop quickly, do a half spin, release himself and sprint off, would be my guess.

GotATextInColombia · 18/08/2024 14:18

I think it would be possible to trip him up as he fled with those very long shoes but you may have a strategy Olympic.

They could maybe incorporate it as a sport in the Invictus Games. Everything else seems to be about them ….

I don't have to convince anyone of anything this is a simple fact whether anyone cares to admit it or not....I am and I have stated this fact!

Gorgonemilezola · 18/08/2024 10:23

Harry wrote in Spare:
“Mr. Hughes-Games believed me to be the odd one. What could be odder, he said to me one day, than a British prince not knowing British history? I cannot fathom it, Wales.”
“We’re talking about your blood relatives— does that mean nothing to you? Less than nothing, sir. It wasn’t just that I didn’t know anything about my family’s history: I didn’t want to know anything”

So maybe not so much Charles' fault after all....

I will never ever get my head around how he has no interest in being a member of the most famous family in the world, a fascinating history dating back a thousand years that not only shaped our nation but large part of the world, it honestly baffles me.

GotATextInColombia · 18/08/2024 14:27

Stating something as ‘fact’ doesn’t necessarily make it true.

GotATextInColombia · 18/08/2024 14:29

I’m the same BigWilly

I’d be immersing myself in the history.

Still, it appears H got his wish when he said he doesn’t want to know anything.

He has probably taken that statement far further than he thought and chose to not want to know anything about many other interesting things.

MummyJ12 · 18/08/2024 14:30

From a Colombian on x;

They are in Colombia to support censorship legislation. They say it's to protect children from social networks but it's a lie. Be careful not to vote for it! The Asian woman who spoke in the "panel" yesterday with Meghan and Harry is a CIA asset that came to support and push a CENSOR legislation in Colombia from social networks, which is part of the WEF plan, a group of oligarchs like Soros, Gates, Schwab etc who want to establish a world government with those in power.. this trip of Harry and Meghan is part of that plan to establish more Control. Your VP is also part of the WEF. They are all puppets! They are corrupt and the Colombian government pays their expenses. They are not going to give a dollar in donation. And it seems that they are charging a lot for the photos and videos.

The worst thing about this campaign to protect children is that they themselves commission and finance their own army of cyber bullies, the Sussex Squad, a network of individuals to whom they themselves give orders to threaten all their critics (or what they correct their lies) and especially the British Royal Family (they have been attacking them for 5 years), and send death threats to Princess Catherine and Prince William and their 3 children.

I wonder if they have the self awareness to be embarrassed by this tour. Barely any press and what there is is largely negative. There doesn't seem to be anything of substance to the tour, more like they're using it as a faux royal photoshoot. Is cyber bullying really a big issue affecting children in a country struggling with high levels of poverty and crime?

Short answer? No.
I don't think they're embarrassed by anything.

Interesting, @MummyJ12

GotATextInColombia · 18/08/2024 14:33

I should imagine you could fling ‘fact’ at that last little paragraph mummy

Something doesn’t smell fragrant.
