I genuinely don't see why anyone in Colombia would care about them, or even know who they are. He's the 5th in line to the British throne and she's a minor American actress whose main claim to fame is that she married him. If Colombians are interested in any European royal family, it's probably the Spanish royals.

Nigeria at least is a Commonwealth country where English is an official language. But Colombia is just so random.

Not watched this yet, but wanted to say I love Leilani! She was a Miss World contestant representing Barbados in the same contest as Pryanka Chopra. She’s funny and very smart. She has a great anecdote about Hugh Grant trying to pick her up in a bar (he is gross).

Meghan didn’t seem to be saying anything to the VP, which is why all her Spanish speaking is probably scripted and memorised, no fluency whatsoever.

Since this VP’s agenda includes slavery reparations, I imagine the Spanish royals will be giving them a wide berth. Stupid Harry and ignorant Meghan are of the group of agitators who think all slavery worldwide stems back to the BRF. And they like to give away promises on behalf of people they don’t represent (cf Harry’s “talks” with indigenous representatives in Canada and hobnobbing with Andrew Holness of the anti Commonwealth agenda in Jamaica).

Day 3 in The Mail. Very few people coming to see them, the Mayor of the town they are visiting wasn't invited to the event. Lots of security. It does seem like they are there for the VP and themselves.

But a new frock that isn't a version of one from Nigeria.

I haven't seen her since the Catherine video. I enjoyed discussing with her.

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar Leilani is fab isn’t she! I really enjoy her videos, like you say she is smart and funny, I enjoy her take on the H&M fiasco. The Pryanka Chopra Miss World video was an eye opener, the other contestants were just a support act!

I know, I was a bit shocked/not shocked about that! PC has narc written all over her, and she’s an horrendous actress.

Not seen that name since she denied speculating about William and Catherine’s marriage when she had indeed done just that by supporting the affair rumour on a different thread. However, that poster - yes, I have seen her.

That's disappointing. I am fairly new here but thought she had kept that name for a long time.

my take on Meghan is that she is basically quite socially awkward and seems to have a hard time reading the room . Hence her grinning through the cultural event instead of treating it with the solemnity it deserved. She is always slightly out of step in the way she behaves and even in the clothes she wears which are frequently not appropriate imo.
I think.that partly explains her rudeness at times and the pushing in front of other people etc.

Strong words, @PrettyFlyforaMaiTai . However, I do find it strange that Harry and Meghan are feted because he's the son of a king, and she's married to him.
It would be another matter if they were official royalty and represented a govt/head of state, but they're not. It's just the titles that are being valued here.

There's nothing at all wrong with wearing the same clothes more than once but she's not really doing that. She seems to be buying the same clothes but in different patterns or colours so not hitting the mark in being sustainable but also not hitting the mark in being interesting either!

@thecatsthecats good point! I actually quite like the zebra print dress and the other version she wore this week (not so keen on the original gold one).
If she'd been papped wearing it out to dinner somewhere sunny and tropical then I think it would work really well but it doesn't seem so appropriate for a school visit or a sit down with local dignitaries!

The most interesting headline so far is that the Mayor of Cartagena was excluded from the visit by the VP. LOL.

A member of the House of Representatives of Colombia, Miguel Polo Polo, has posted this. Roughly translates to criticising the VP as cozying up with the world elite (one who is descended from British royalty which was complicit in the slave trade and colonialism) despite VP stating she is anti racist, anti imperialist and anti colonialist. He calls her a hypocrite.

He ends controversially by declaring the photo looks like “The chained slave smiling with his masters”
