Harry is not much able to hide his feelings - I think he has genuine enthusiasm with children and sportsmen and women and former forces personnel - the Commonwealth service she said to him as they went in “Big smiles!” Because she’s so aware of cameras (Sophie catching her looking at herself on the monitor and plastering on her bland simper is a cracker of a moment!) but the only time he looked really engaged was chatting to children outside the church.

I repeat myself but for Goodness’ sake why doesn’t he take his gazillions, live quietly and happily away from the click of cameras he claims gave him PTSD and do some work with his charities that doesn’t involve mortifying copying of the real thing. It’s so humiliating. He doesn’t need more money, he needs less fame. She just doesn’t agree that he’s enough for her.

I suppose this is why the papers aren’t running photos/stories. They don’t want to pay. Seems like they’re shooting themselves in the foot doing this.

I just looked at headlines on El Tiempo online, Nada, nothing.

Same with the main radio station and TV news, even when you search down into the specific Bogota city news, nothing.

He is barely making an effort. In some of the photos he looks half asleep, bored to tears and quite grumpy.

Only seen the NYpost cover the story from the first day. Nothing from the second day.

But they won’t be pleased with that, as that’s essentially a tabloid (which they hate rem)

But NYT, Washington Post etc haven’t touched it at all.

Nothing on the CNN website. If you go in the BBC website it’s about the first day, not second. Look at the most read- Molly and Fury is the ni8 story. They are nowhere to be seen!

My opinion only , it seems to me that the major outlets are not running much because they don't wish to pay for pictures then reward them with coverage,
This is clearly not a viable way to make money for h and m .

@KatherineParr Haven't seen anything on tv in the US about the Sussexes for a while now. I think they've slipped off the mainstream radar and just pop up in the gossip mags or fan posts on twitter.
By contrast, Catherine appearing in the Olympic video was breaking news on CNN!

He did - he even quoted a country (Nepal?) so it was a real kick in the face for them. 'I came but I really didn't want to'!

It is interesting to compare the pictures of H and M with the ones of Sophie Wessex’s trip, she looks animated and engaged, she is looking at people, listening and responding. She is meeting people in different locations, with different foci, while maintaining a purpose for her visit, so the photos show her as involved, as informed , as well prepared and briefed and determined to keep the reasons for the trip to the forefront at all times rather than be about her. I know the Sophie pictures have of course been chosen and curated to reflect this, but then again so have the H and M photos, but they aren’t hitting the mark because they could have been taken anywhere, they aren’t about Invictus, they aren’t about Columbia, they aren’t about online safety for children. They are about H and M.

It's interesting to speculate on the reason the tour isn't getting a lot of coverage.

Lack of willingness to pay for photos is an interesting theory, but papers must be used to paying for photos all the time - surely the likes of Backgrid don't give their photos over for free? And the price of the photo on Getty isn't vast (for the likes of the Daily Mail) - are all the photos on there for the same price? Or is that just a very limited few?

It would also seem like a spectacular own goal on behalf of H&M to charge so much for the photos and footage that they wouldn't get any coverage. Wanting to control the narrative I can understand - it's consistent with their MO - but what's the point of them doing the tour without exposure and coverage? It's not like they're doing it for any other reason.

Maybe there's just not that much interest? As other PP have said, it's a rinse and repeat of what they did in Nigeria and that was only 3 months ago. And with limiting the content available so much, maybe it's difficult for the press to find an angle of interest.

It won't generate enough clicks so it's not worth it. Same as Nigeria - reception, watch dancing, go to a school, watch some sport - not really that interesting.

I do really like this, I'd love to see the silhouette when she is standing. Ideally I'd have paired an ivory blouse to match the skirt, or have a darker blouse.

Was she actually playing the seated volleyball? She's never joined in before, it's always been Harry. I don't get the impression Meghan is particularly sporty.

Do newspapers have staff photographers anymore, or just use agencies. So yes they probably do just pay for photos now.
The problem for H&M is those photos aren’t generating the clicks for the newspapers so aren’t worth it. It’s not just unpopularity, most people just don’t care, which is worse for them.

I think if MM could improve the way she dresses then that would generate some interest. But she’s either repeating outfits or she looks scruffy. Catherine generates interest/clicks as people want to see what she wears.

I would suggest that they aren't getting much coverage in the US because a celebrity visit is very small potatoes compared to the Election or Ukraine or other events that are relevant to Americans.

They aren't getting much coverage here because again there are lots of important things happening in the world at the moment. They get a brief mention because of who they are related to but otherwise they are simply not important when compared to the riots or the economy or Ukraine or the Israeli situation or what's happening in India, or the fact Somerset House is on fire .

Compare all those topics to two people wearing a succession of outfits whilst saying children need to learn about online security (which my adult children were taught about at school anyway).
