H & M announce a visit to Colombia

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announce they will visit Colombia

mol.im/a/13698271

Another country on the "Don't travel" list.

"But the UK and US governments have both issued security alerts over travelling to Colombia amid fears over crime, terrorism, civil unrest and kidnapping - and Harry's decision to visit comes amid his ongoing battle for his security when in Britain.
The UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office 'advises against all but essential travel to parts of Colombia'. And the US Department of State issued a travel advisory for Colombia stating: 'Reconsider travel due to crime and terrorism. Exercise increased caution due to civil unrest and kidnapping. Some areas have increased risk.'"

Perhaps he thinks this is the way to get his security reconsidered? Personally I'd say the opposite.
If he still had UK security I'd expect them to do a risk assessment and say "NO".
Why should security personnel be put at risk by being required to travel to these dangerous destinations.

And always looking for approval of what is being said.

Harry (and Meghan) I think, are only interested in “facts” that show them in a positive light. They are not really concerned about the internet and its safety. They are only interested in controlling the narrative so there is no criticism of them ever. That is their motive behind their interest in what happens on social media and in the press in my opinion

I would agree. Their life as very royal royals post RF has been about money and self promotion. However, as wannabe global celebrities, they have very thin skin. The only publicity they can appear to tolerate has to be positive and gushing.
In a way Harry was spoiled by the RF because they did a good job of promoting him in a positive way, and playing down his negative behaviour and character traits.
Add H&M's arrogance and entitlement into the mix and we have the comedy of Harry talking about the truth - with no shame!

Here’s the thing….the reason why she’s being interrupted and she always taken a back is because she stands in front of him. They literally can’t read each other body language.

If you and your partner were talking to someone you would be standing side by side, also talking and looking at each other while chatting to the other person.

the dynamics of this relationship is that there are cosplaying the Queen and Prince Philip. Tells you a lot about how think. That they belive Meghan goes first and Harry to follow. So odd.

MrsLeonFarrell · 16/08/2024 08:54

I missed the night shift but it was interesting to catch up and see the scripts haven't changed. One thing I did agree with though, Meghan does these visits better than the Royal family. That's because these are celebrity visits, not royal tours. Royal tours have political significance celebrity visits don't. Royals are not celebrities.

That's not criticism, just reality. I think it's why she is smiling all the time, that's how celebrities do charity publicity, keep things happy and light and always remember the camera when choosing angles and expressions. There is nothing wrong with this, what I find frustrating is the way the tabloids frame them as quasi royal tours because they know it works as click bait. Why get cross with them living their celebrity life, it's what they chose and I hope it makes them happy.

Yes Harry sounds stupid when he talks about keeping his small children away from the social media they wouldn't access anyway at their ages, but many celebrities do campaigns for things they have no experience of. The best celebrity campaigns are those where they have personal experience and bring experts on board to direct things. This is why Invictus is successful and 40 x 40 disappeared.

Anyway, as I said, I hope they do some good. The world needs more good.

These photos are brilliant! 😂loving the VP's side eye and that bored lad.
Are these taken by Misan Harriman?

No, he’s not there. That’s why you won’t see any photoshopped in orange fuzz covering the bald spot.

They have partnered up with APF press agency for pay to watch viewing, apparently. APF went in full defence of the Sussexes post Nigeria, so they are being rewarded.

OlympicWomen · 16/08/2024 09:15

The BBC report says that they're only allowing their own personal videographer.

Glad to see this thread back.

Daydreambell has been removed I see.

This follows patterns of other a royal threads where posters have been posting similar gushing posts about M Inc pics. Then are later deleted. The other posters on other threads were deleted because they were a previously banned poster.

Im not sure if this is the case here. But it does follow the exact same pattern

OlympicWomen · 16/08/2024 09:57

@MrsLeonFarrell I think there's nothing wrong with what they support, but it's very tainted by their behaviour. Talking about the truth? They need to look at what they've said. Problems with social media? No reference to the bullying of Kate, or vile behaviour done by so called fans.
I think it's tricky being celebrities - what they want to be, obviously - but also trying to present themselves as somehow experts?
It's not a balance they're getting right, imo.

I completely agree with all your points.

I still hope they can make a successful of the celebrity life they have chosen but there are glaring inconsistencies and hypocricises that need addressing for that to happen. Otherwise those that have real power and influence will continue to avoid them and they will be left with people using them for their own agenda, as happened in Nigeria.

Serenster · 16/08/2024 10:01

Interestingly, if you look at coverage on the Daily Mail, the vast majority of the photos are credited to Archewell (so their own personal photographer) or a Turkish picture agency, Anadolu. I presume that’s a photographer they have chosen to accompany them who works for Anadolu rather than Turkey being all over this trip. 🤣

Hughs · 16/08/2024 10:02

I find all the anti bullying on social media stuff very hard to take from these two who platform Bouzy in their doc and send jam to Chrissy Teigen and were bffs with Jessica Mulroney while she was indulging in a spot of racist online bullying - and never call any of it out.

That's a good point. I saw some videos of Catherine waiting to greet people after getting out of a car and after William as is royal protocol. Meghan does not adopt this - because they are not Royal in their public life? I think this is something Meghan found difficult when in the RF.

Talking rubbish, you say, @Thedom ?
I'll take your rubbish and give you a dollop of hypocrisy.
The truth? Harry's lecturing people about the truth?!

I mean, he's not wrong.
The recent riots in certain parts of the UK show that misinformation spread online can have a hugely negative impact.
But the reaction of the Govt and the Courts have been really effective.

But I don't think Harry's even referencing that, he seems to be talking about something else.
And referencing his children, while sweet, is pointless. Of course they're not on SM, they are 5 and 3!

I was a brilliant parent of my children - until I actually had them. It's really easy to say what you will or won't do (& what your children will or won't behave like) until you're actually dealing with that situation. A Teenager is a very different person to a toddler.

Like Meghan's hair in that wavy ponytail. I am beyond bored with the caramel tones, oversized blouse and trousers combo. On anyone.

Oh so glad that this thread has been restored. Previously I posted a thread about Meghan looking concerned/annoyed by what Harry had said on tour. I’ve now found a longer version in which Harry looks pissed off at Meghan cutting in/interrupting/talking over him before Meghan gives the odd concerned look. Sorry that it’s a twitter link and for the weird music.

You make a very fair point.

He should never have publicly ridiculed his brother about his hair loss.

I should have said AFP.

Is the Archewell accreditation designed to prevent use of photos and coverage for negative commentary? Specifically to strike YouTubers for copyright breach or something. It’s all very controlled. The hate free speech, don’t they? No wonder this would be authoritarian regime, who have been seriously criticised by their own people, have invited them. The VP strikes me as being in the same “highly privileged victim” mold as the Sussexes. If she was inspired by their Netflix depiction of themselves, she has no critical thinking skills.

He needs to give in and do the shave.

OlympicWomen · 16/08/2024 10:19

There's nothing wrong with going bald and a lot of bald men look attractive. However, it was his ridicule of William going bald that makes people focus on it. The unkindness, and the hypocrisy.

John travolta looks so much better with his clean shaved head, rather than the toupee. It can on some people make them look younger.

Harry needs to def go for the shave. But if he shaves the head, should he keep the beard?
