I have seen several newspapers referring to this German documentary. It's the first I've heard of it.

"At best, this shows that MM, that early in her relationship, did not grasp what it meant to be CP'ed by the British police and was unwise to invent (unfriendly) motivations for someone whose choices were normal/rational in those circumstances."

I think Meghan thought it was just going to be a grander version of her life in the showbiz world but either way a money tree.

But with a money tree.

I think she's so very toxic towards Kate because Kate is first in the pecking order. She wants to be front and centre of everything g, she can't do that in the UK because she's not going to be queen (thank god!) and she's way down the list in importance.
Chuck their toys out of the pram cause they can't live in a castle with the queen, can't wait in their place so fly to the front of walk abouts or in meeting people, not taking any notice that they have a place. I'll bet the whole curtsying REALLY grated on her, she's lesser than others - a narcs idea of hell

Now in the US they're trying to be the top dogs, except they're only invited to dogs breakfast type places, not fancy things like the RF
Bloody hilarious if it wasn't so shameless and sad

MM’s MO is to meet someone connected and useful and become their best friend almost immediately. I imagine this not working on Catherine led her to believe that Catherine was defective, rather than her own relationships being shallow and mutually self serving (and disposable).

BemusedAmerican · 29/07/2024 12:15

@CoffeeCantata maybe George could spend his gap year in Wales learning Welsh and pursuing an interest.

Good point.

Yes - a great idea. He could really get to grips with Welsh history and culture and get involved in projects. I know the royal youngsters like to go to Africa, but I think with the changing cultural climate and the feeling now that such activities smack of the 'White Saviour', that might have to stop.

I'm such a weedy, wet lettuce (and I can't stand heat) that I'd MUCH rather spend a year in Wales!! 😄

Floofpaws - and I think the raging jealousy of Catherine started even before she met Harry. She's known to have written disparagingly (but clearly enviously) on The Tig of W and C's wedding. It was all so predictable: Wannabe Hollywood actress (she was only ever a cable actress), brought up in California, meets English Rose with cut-glass voice and a reserved manner. It was a disaster waiting to happen, especially since Harry was once so close to Catherine and clearly very fond of her. And from Meghan's point of view at that time* there was nothing for her in going along with the status quo. Put those factors together and you have the material for a fair-sized nuclear bomb.

There was also the time when they first appeared together in the royal box at Wimbledon and Meghan suggested that, instead of following protoco (M following Catherine) that they should both hold hands as they entered the box. Catherine declined (and blimey, so would I - what a ridiculous suggestion) on the basis of protocol - she'd been instructed what to do and she wasn't going to change that for Meghan's bonkers ides. But of course Meghan took mega-offence. It's all so utterly childish, and borderline farcical really.

She is always way down the pecking order, the type of people she wants to be seen to be associated with in the US, are all wealthier and more accomplished than she is, a different stratosphere, she is the ultimate hanger on,

Jellyx · 29/07/2024 14:23

KvotheTheBloodless · 26/07/2024 09:07

Poor woman. What an awful thing, to have her past and mistakes on show for the world to see - it's harassment on a global scale. Nobody's perfect, everyone has something they're ashamed of or have lied about.

It's not like she's hiding from the media she went on a Netflix show..

Jellyx · 29/07/2024 14:24

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 26/07/2024 22:11

People are obsessed. It's a dirty business and they should leave her alone.

Can she leave the public alone then and get off nextflix / Oprah?

It's like this networking thing she went to. She wasn't a presenter - she was an attendee. It must have hurt so bad not to get that microphone. 😂

Apparently she was the ‘plus 1’ of someone else. If true, that shows how far down the pecking order, she wasn’t even an invited guest.

FloofPaws · 29/07/2024 16:10

Holding hands with Kate at the tennis, FFS what is she, 5 years old 😵‍💫🤯
I suspect she'd have brazened her way through to the front if she could ... only saw photos
So not sure what happened

I can’t actually believe that. I see her clutching everyone else she possibly can.. but REALLY? It’s downright embarrassing and so inappropriate.

It’s forced intimacy. Manipulative people will do that - come into your personal space and catch you off guard and make you feel defective if you don’t respond in kind. Introverts and reserved types feel bad enough as it is, so bombarded are they with the values of an extrovert world. So being accused of being cold/aloof/unfeeling/boring/unfriendly is an easy win against them.

Yes she’s already made much of how cold and unwelcoming they were as opposed to her showing up in ripped jeans and bare feet, hugging them when she didn’t know them.

LaMarschallin · 29/07/2024 17:11

Meghan wants to be everyone's lobster, walking around the tank, holding claws...🦞

Theinflictuswithrictusgames · 29/07/2024 17:24

For those uncertain of themselves and those who don’t make friends easily, it’s a powerful “platonic aphrodisiac”, having a pretty, vivacious person wanting to be your bestie from the off. Their front loading of intimacy spares the other person from having to negotiate the tricky landscape of behavioural nuance and intention. When they are dropped, they blame themselves anyway for being too dull to hold the attention of the vivacious/popular/interesting one (all self declared, with much false modesty and self deprecation, they wanted to be the clever rebel girl, not the princess, but what can you do 🤷‍♀️).

In Hollywood circles, these sorts of mutual back scratching “friendships” are arranged to maximum effect to raise profiles and make useful connections. I doubt “my good friend” is anyone other than someone they met a couple of times at the odd charity event, the photos of which raising their mutual stock in the philanthropy industry, and providing some profile raising column inches in the entertainment rags. These friends will not be bringing each other chicken soup when they are sick.

@MaturingCheeseball sold a pup- instead of the highly trained work dog you thought you had.

I believe.

Is it not that he pisses on the floor and whines all night for his mother?

CathyorClaire · 29/07/2024 21:13

Maybe this should be on the unpoular opinions thread but - I don't think Meghan was sold a pup.

Harold's drunken, toking and punching activities all along with the animal cruelty were out there way before she considered putting a ring on the darling boy and she's far too savvy not to have googled.

I think the old agage ' Marry in haste, repent at leisure' might be more apt.

Gorgonemilezola · 29/07/2024 21:30

I think they both hid their real selves under several bushels and because the relationship moved relatively quickly and they were both keen to get rings on fingers neither was fully aware of the other's truth character. Prince William seems very astute with hindsight.
