TheInflictus
Fergie was a mistake - although I have no doubt they are great friends, they were never going to keep each other on the straight and narrow - both too greedy and easily manipulated,

Oh my goodness - aint that the truth!

The 2 naughtiest kids in the class sitting together. I suspect no sensible, intelligent and poised woman would have been attracted to (or be able to tolerate) Andrew, but putting him together with Fergie was like throwing petrol on a bonfire! And Fergie, because of her boisterous personality and long connection with the RF felt none of the usual awe, so wouldn't have felt the need to 'bee-have'.

True, but Fergie has also proven to be incredibly loyal. I can’t imagine many other women would have stood by him after his catastrophic public disgrace… he must be very grateful for that.

She also seems to be a very devoted mother. And lots of people seem to genuinely like her. So she must have her good sides.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 30/07/2024 17:12

You are right about Fergie. She must have made the other royals cringe at times (Dr Phil interview, shopping channel exploits etc) but she never betrayed them.

TheWoodlanders · 30/07/2024 17:28

Fergie’s not really loyal. She has little money of her own and few ways of earning it. It suits her to hang around the RF.

I saw both Diana and Fergie in the 1990s. As others on this thread have said, Diana was not really beautiful in the flesh. She was tall, a good clothes. horse and photogenic but her features were not beautiful. Fergie at that time was absolutely gorgeous. She is possibly the most attractive person I had ever seen then. The most beautiful hair and skin and healthy looking. Of course not fat or even plump by normal standards. She just wasn’t that photogenic as she did not know how to be photographed and wasn’t stick thin.

CoffeeCantata · 30/07/2024 19:22

I agree re the distinction between being beautiful and being photogenic. I've heard professional photographers say that they are indeed 2 different things. One said that 'you couldn't take a bad photo of Diana'. It's the quality models have - even though other women might be more beautiful in the flesh. I guess that's why in old Hollywood they did screen-tests - they knew that someone being beautiful in the flesh didn't always equate to looking that way on film.

Also, Fergie liked playing the fool and the press caught on to that and exploited it, so there are more images of her looking and acting very silly!

User14March · 30/07/2024 19:53

Apparently Diana’s eyes were mesmerising & men found her incredibly attractive.

orchardgirl4 · 30/07/2024 19:57

My unpopular opinion is that Harry and Meghan are heroes, taking on the system, taking on the press and the stress that goes with that and their positions. That in 50 years time, there will be films made about them, the greatest love story, about the prince that gave up his title for the love of his life, and the uncrowned princess that did more for the people than any crowned person.

LaMarschallin · 30/07/2024 20:03

and the uncrowned princess that did more for the people than any crowned person.

They're all uncrowned except for the monarch and the consort (if they have one).
So Charles and Camilla have been crowned. William and Kate will be in the fullness of time if all goes to plan.
Godsake 🙄

What has she done so far for which people?

Huh?
Breaking news?

So he's not Prince Harry now? I must have missed that bit.

Absolutely. I don't think Kate Moss is outstandingly attractive but she takes a blinding photo.

LaMarschallin · 30/07/2024 20:27

I believe it.
I'm absolutely ravishingly beautiful irl but look appalling in photos.
So strange...💁

She has given hope to millions by demonstrating that mediocrity and a complete lack of self-awareness are no barriers to global fame or riches…

That will be an excellent piece of fiction, won't it! The true version will be very different. More resembling the Windsors. The prince you're referring to won't give his titles up for anyone or anything. The so-called princess did nothing for 'her' people because she fucked off to the US and abandoned them!

Invictus was clearly founded by Harry. The money he raised was paid into the Royal Foundation. That is why when Harry left the Royal Family he was able to take that money out of the Foundation. If it had belonged to the Foundation to allocate as they wished, he would not have been able to take it with him.

Once put into the Foundation the funds were the charitable funds of the Foundation. Harry couldn’t just take it out and use it for something else. Charity law applies to Harry the same as it does to everybody else.

Yes, I must admit - the fact that the public has mostly been able to see through her manipulation and self-serving behaviour really does give me hope 😌

Having these sorts of red flag traits discussed publically will likely help others to identify and avoid toxic relationships

As with other celebrities, a huge part of what is mesmerising is the position, status and fame. And the confidence that comes with it. In all honesty, she was just an averagely attractive woman with height that gave her presence

Trawling through old pictures I find it hard to believe Fergie was beautiful. She had a massive face. A dominant jaw. Freckle and pale and not in an interesting way. Very ordinary eyes. Even taking lack of being photogenic into account I can't see her being a beauty as you are describing.

AvrielFinch · 30/07/2024 23:37

She wasn't.

AvrielFinch · 30/07/2024 23:42

She is an ordinary pretty woman. There are a few photos of her where she looks stunning, but these are akin to the glamour shots some women have taken in studios so they have a particularly attractive photo of themselves.

She’s got gorgeous red hair and nice straight teeth but overall she’s ordinary I think. Her ex husband was conventionally very attractive as a young guy much as I hate to say it.

This sounds a bit Mills and Boon!
As pp have said - they're all "uncrowned" apart from the King and Queen (see the Coronation). Meghan did more for the people? In what way?
Oh, and neither have given up any titles.
They love the titles, it's their identity- what are they without them?

Theunamedcat · 31/07/2024 06:47

My unpopular opinion

Harry knows exactly what he is doing constantly bringing his mom into the conversation he uses it as a sympathy tool and a shield against anyone who is criticising him

Meghan can't stop inappropriately smiling and forgets what's been said by her and Harry in the past contradicting herself but instead of maybe apologies and correcting her story she continues with her new storyline like reality is a show 🤔
