Sometimes, all the different media outlets who purport to know the inner workings of all things Sussex can give me whiplash. One moment the Sussex duo are on the outs with everyone, hemorrhaging or devoid of influential friends, making no headway with Netflix, losing money, can’t afford their mortgage and claimed to no longer be relevant. Then Suits saw an upsurge in viewers - fantastic ratings on Netflix, the BBC buys Suits, Invictus is being promoted via Harry’s award and trips, he receives a heartfelt standing ovation, Meghan finishes filming a new Netflix series purportedly linked to a nascent commercial venture and a new podcast is set for next year.

‘Lonely’ Harry, as some will insist on writing, is also not something that rings true for me. He has too much charisma, energy, interests, causes and is a people person. I also cannot think of anyone who needs to say I am friends with x, y, and z on a regular basis for the benefit or not of strangers. We don’t know who they are friends with, really. Meanwhile, pundits continue to engage those interested in the couple with whatever they can attributing the information to some made up mysterious ‘sources’. I suspect their real friends are quietly keeping their own counsel. Especially, now they have seen the mutual pathological loathing that Harry and the tabloids have towards one another. Can’t say I blame them either.

Considering Whoopi G had less than favourable words for the couple I’d like to have been a fly on the wall at any meetings held. No doubt ‘netizens’ will have their microscopes to the ready to give us all their ‘insights’ regarding the events of the evening. No doubt I’ll get whiplash again when all their combined fingers hit the keyboards.

I'm not an advocate of the " it's family you have to reconcile" mode of thought. I know that my life is much better without having to contend with family drama. There are some people in this world who will always feel hard done by and who cannot or will not try to change that feeling and compare constantly . Instead they want to make out everyone else is the cause of their perceived situation.Their bleatings, their selfishness and their comparisons will forever drag them down. If you try to communicate with them you can see it is useless - in fact you are feeding their fire. It is better to avoid and not be involved. In fact I see this in not only Harry and Meghan but also in their SS supporters. They want someone to blame as to why their life is not the one they want, the perceived slights against them and I know let's blame it on the past or the way I look never the way I act because it is never them.

I too would love someone who supports H+M to explain why they hold on to titles labelling them as belonging to an institution they have called racist and toxic, which bullied them and from which they had to escape as a matter of life and death. And why they would inflict those titles on their children. Preferably something beyond 'why shouldn't they?' given all the obvious reasons why they seemingly shouldn't.

You get to a stage in life where it is unnecessary in life to have people in your life who make you second guess yourself, make you unhappy, play the victim.

If folk don’t being you joy? Get them gone.
It at the least? Keep them at a distance.

Life has a way of biting you hard when you hold on to anger and negativity. Much better to build a bridge than pull up a drawbridge in a huff because you only value your own perspective and not that of the other person. When you fall into that pattern of behaviour it does not bode well for the future.

Did you actually type this with a straight face OP? Last I looked it wasn’t William who sold his family down the river for the mighty dollar and I’ve never heard him complain about his life, ever. I very much agree with this, I find it very strange that just because you are related by blood people think you have to put up with any form of abuse, if this was a spousal relationship William would be advised to divorce his abuser and cut ties completely, no one would say to William put up, shut up and stay married to your abusive partner. Let’s be clear, Harry is abusive and William is very wise to cut him out of his and his family’s lives, he is utterly toxic.

William is protecting his wife and children from a toxic relative, as recommended on MN.

But a Netflix special with Harry and Meghan in therapy with Thomas Markle would be very appropriate. All don’t believe there is such a thing as “oversharing”.
