Sussex Whiplash

Sometimes, all the different media outlets who purport to know the inner workings of all things Sussex can give me whiplash. One moment the Sussex duo are on the outs with everyone, hemorrhaging or devoid of influential friends, making no headway with Netflix, losing money, can’t afford their mortgage and claimed to no longer be relevant. Then Suits saw an upsurge in viewers - fantastic ratings on Netflix, the BBC buys Suits, Invictus is being promoted via Harry’s award and trips, he receives a heartfelt standing ovation, Meghan finishes filming a new Netflix series purportedly linked to a nascent commercial venture and a new podcast is set for next year.

‘Lonely’ Harry, as some will insist on writing, is also not something that rings true for me. He has too much charisma, energy, interests, causes and is a people person. I also cannot think of anyone who needs to say I am friends with x, y, and z on a regular basis for the benefit or not of strangers. We don’t know who they are friends with, really. Meanwhile, pundits continue to engage those interested in the couple with whatever they can attributing the information to some made up mysterious ‘sources’. I suspect their real friends are quietly keeping their own counsel. Especially, now they have seen the mutual pathological loathing that Harry and the tabloids have towards one another. Can’t say I blame them either.

Considering Whoopi G had less than favourable words for the couple I’d like to have been a fly on the wall at any meetings held. No doubt ‘netizens’ will have their microscopes to the ready to give us all their ‘insights’ regarding the events of the evening. No doubt I’ll get whiplash again when all their combined fingers hit the keyboards.

Well, it’s so important that Harry was ashamed that Meghan wasn’t coping and stood by whilst she went to ‘HR’ to ask for help. He himself is a clear illustration of failed therapy .

He was a shocking husband when she needed help. Instead of admitting this, he blamed his family. How low.

How to go off on a tangent. lol. Specifically, what occurred in KP regarding the accusations levelled at Meghan. As far as Harry’s younger life is concerned he has been upfront about that. If you feel the need to keep beating him over the head with a free copy of Spare then have at it. Despite the machinations of those who are paid to serve up crud for the populace I am sure that it remains true that H and M are: ‘Much loved family members’ and ’to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas’. I hold the view that W is the one that cannot move forward and address the hurt that both sides have internalised. Life is short and in the end family matters and forgiveness is not beneath anyone, least of all a future King who won the lottery by virtue of being the firstborn. I only hope that he manages any issues with his three kids better than he did when he had a brother who was his spare. Life has a way of biting you hard when you hold on to anger and negativity. Much better to build a bridge than pull up a drawbridge in a huff because you only value your own perspective and not that of the other person. When you fall into that pattern of behaviour it does not bode well for the future.

Ah, so that’s the sort of “family therapy” you want. Where the brother who hasn’t fucked up has to gaslight himself to appease the narcissist. I think reputable therapists advise against therapy with abusive types - it just fuels them. I think William’s kids appear to be just fine, happy and thriving, with 2 sets of loving family looking out for them. You should save your worries for the invisible ones.

That is a very unhealthy mindset. This rift was not caused by a simple difference of opinion. A man cannot be on good terms with someone that publicly attacks his wife and his marriage. Harry cannot be trusted around William’s family.

I think people are tired of debating the titles thing.

It was debated to death on here back in 2023.

I did a quick advanced search (of titles only) and found 2 threads devoted to the titles question. I remember it as being repeatedly brought up and addressed on other threads too. It was a hot topic on here, sm and YouTube in the first half 2023.

I advise those who want to know the differing opinions on ‘why Hand M don’t give up their titles’ to do a search.

Africa Parks is now a gotcha question I think. It’s like asking when is Charles going to speak to the participation of the British monarchs, and Monarchy, in Colonisation and Historical slavery and the accruing of vast wealth from both? Other than asking for, and waiting for, ‘research’ to be done.

I think that's what infuriates people about the African Parks scandal. Has Harry made any statement yet? It's the absolute silence and dereliction of any kind of responsibility about AP which looks so bad. It's as if they either think people will just forget, or that they don't believe they (or just H) have any actual responsibility for what's happened.

No-one is suggesting that H is personally responsible for the abuses but he needs to say 'I'm shocked to hear of these allegations and I've asked for an investigation to be carried out' - or something, and then follow through. I just cannot get over the radio silence on this! It makes them both look insincere and dodgy - as if they just like turning up in posh clothes to make speeches for their patronages, but don't take any genuine interest.

They constantly say that they "speak out" and "speak up", but are strangely silent on certain matters.

But what is your opinion on why they won’t give up the titles?

As to slavery and colonialism reparations. IMO it’s not possible and not helpful for POC like myself going forward. We are being used as pawns for white people who don’t have to live with the racial fall out. And it will only be fair if every perpetrator is held accountable, which includes the African slavers who carried on the practice long after the British abolition and patrolling the seas to stop slave ships; and all the beneficiaries, which will include a plethora of ordinary people who benefited via their ancestors through pensions, property and industry fuelled off the back of people like my ancestors. I hope those baying for reparations are going to look into their own ancestral past and how they as descendants of the British Empire still benefit today. And be willing to pay up. I doubt it though.

It is one of the more insidious tactics employed imo. Claiming to like someone but then suggesting ever so nicely how they should deal with the favoured one. I think I prefer those who are honest enough to say they just don’t like the others 😆

If my memory is correct, the answers from the Sussex supporters were either “ why should they , Harry is a Prince by birth and the Queen gave him the Dukedom “
or “ why should they when Andrew still has his title “
For what it’s worth I agree that Andrew should have his title removed .
If H and M are as popular and successful as their supporters claim , surely they don’t need titles from the toxic institution? Why inflict titles on their little children ?

Those titles mean everything to them. They're nothing without them.

William had the nerve to be born first. For that he must always atone. All Harry’s woes stem from this. There can be no peace until this injustice is put right
