A fitting endorsement from Fred Hargreaves OBE who on X wrote, “As ever, a genuine and heart-felt speech from the Duke of Sussex - the driving force and passion behind the #InvictusGames. So good to see this Award, and share the stage with Elizabeth, Kirsty and Israel.”

From the Royal Website, how the ‘driving force’ - Harry - brought Invictus into being:

https://www.royal.uk/invictus-games

Positive Harry posts have been flooding X. Haters were out too. Some negatively posting in a quasi-forensic manner. No ‘gotcha’ revelations, however, nor tens of thousands of likes which the repost of Harry’s speech on ESPN by the knowledgeable Robert Griffin III now has. In less than 2 days 51+K likes and still rising.

I also checked out some (too many) #Sussexsquad posters. It revealed teachers, veterans, different nationalities, colours, creeds, nurses, retired folk etc etc. Thus I formed a completely different understanding about the use of the hashtag to support the Sussex family. There were also very strange users of the hashtag too. The hashtag was additionally utilised to send the message out on X to put the anti-Harry and Meghan posters or ‘derangers’, as they are often called, on mute and not to engage. Quite a restrained and civil position to promote and many did just that. Invictus awareness was successfully brought to those who had never heard of the international fraternity of veterans with disabilities and injuries by this hashtag alone.

Watching the videos on X I saw Harry speak with sincerity and humility under pressure. His words, “The truth is, I stand here not as Prince Harry, Pat Tillman Award recipient, but rather a voice on behalf of the Invictus Games Foundation and the thousands of veterans and service personnel from over 20 nations who have made the Invictus Games a reality. This award belongs to them. Not to me.”

Harry has now been awarded, by a very diverse online presence, a new respect. And I do believe he’s also a jolly good fellow…and so say many, many, many of us. 😊💙

I am so glad I went on my very new X twitter account for I was disgusted with the Daily Mail’s use of Pat Tillman’s mother to denigrate Prince Harry as it was totally uncalled for. Call it for what it was - a hit piece of journalism designed to create a mini storm online. We know nothing about the context of how they obtained words supposedly said by Pat’s mother about Harrry. I was aghast too at how Pat’s widow has also been treated by some online posters. Her foundation may not be perfect but she does more than anyone to honour him. Pat’s mother also did not go on any mainstream American media either where her complaints would have been listened to and would have provided the much needed context for the hate motivated article by a newspaper under the spotlight for its nefarious journalism and click bait articles about Harry.

Harry’s response was beautiful. The way Harry acknowledged Pat’s mother went further than him being a royal. It was a standout out moment of what being human is all about. I do believe he’s also a jolly good fellow…and so say many, many, many of us. 😊💙

“the followers of Meghan” creepy.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 15/07/2024 21:54

Yes, straight from meeting some of the poorest women in the world to whining on a massive international platform that your privilege is not as shiny as you want it to be. Oh and lying about Archie being in danger during a heater fire.

Gorgonemilezola · 15/07/2024 21:54

Meghan hangs on to perceived slights, obviously for years. Catherine did nothing. The problem is that Meghan suffers from a bitter and all consuming jealousy of Catherine. Instead of living her life with her good fortune, husband, children, wealth, opportunities that most could only dream of, she absolutely cannot stand that Catherine is hugely popular and goes about her life with grace,

Depends where you want to start and how it was done. Newspapers, social media, journalists lined up to write and post abominable articles. Slowly but surely a woman was baited and criticised in a very unique manner. A climate was created here in the UK and slowly a public was persuaded to see her in a particular way.

Harry wrote a book, more people than not loved it. I certainly see no problem in writing about his life and his interactions with those around him. I always found it interesting that William chose the South African tour to leak his feelings and thoughts to the press. Sources close to KP principals forever feeding the media. Harry has gone on record and good for him! Meghan. She told the truth about her life. Her experiences. How everyone chooses to interpret that is up to them. I can only imagine what the trolling of her online has done to her mental health. Depression and suicide ideation is something many people live with but do not necessarily share with others. So many people say they are shocked when someone they know has taken their own life and they hadn’t a clue regarding their internal struggles. Smiling for the world and going out when inside there is despair is not unusual. It is why mental health issues are seen as invisible disabilities.

As for Catherine, Meghan spoke about what happened there and so did Harry. It seems she is not given a pass for her behaviour by the followers of Meghan. No different from those who adore Catherine yet continue to despise and assassinate the character of Meghan. Pot. Kettle. Nothing new to see.

I in large measure agree with this. Anyone trolling a woman who has been through what Meghan has should be ashamed. Harry warned Meghan it would change and it did. Slowly but surely the headlines in the UK were stinky. Praising one Duchess and criticising the other. Typical of the toxic press that the UK is known for. Ack. It’s all old news anyway. They seem to be thriving in the USA. Plenty of friends, plenty of money, new projects and charities to help. I wish them all well.

'I can only imagine what the trolling of her online has done to her mental health.'

I am assuming you're writing about the online trolling of the Princess of Wales by the Sussex Squad, a vile group who have been thanked and acknowledged by Harry and Meghan.

MummyJ12 · 15/07/2024 22:06

I think anyone who is part of the Sussex Squad or supports them should be ashamed. They are the worst, most vicious trolls on the internet.

Gorgonemilezola · 15/07/2024 22:09

'Slowly but surely the headlines in the UK were stinky.'

Did you read any of the horrible press earlier in the year about the Princess of Wales? Hear Stephen Colbert with his snide innuendos? See the paparazzi mobbing Kate and calling her a slut for the reaction?

Neither woman should have to put up with it, but to suggest Meghan had it so much worse if false.

Grace, dignity and honesty
Something Brand Sussex could do with cultivating.

The only thing the palace fed the media was a long line of horseshit that made Harry look like a different person.

Oh catch a grip, what has Meghan been through that hasn't been largely of her own making?!!

Not so sure either about the " Plenty of friends, plenty of money, new projects and charities to help."

Lots of scraping the barrel here to throw shade at Harry. All irrelevant, as it’s already been reported that Venus hugged Harry when they met and chit chatted when seated next to one another.

Yup but we all know about how these insults really go.

Recollections may vary.

Such mean girl behaviour to hesitate passing the lip gloss. Not to mention trying to have a say in what her own child should be wearing to make sure she would be as comfortable as possible on the day of the ‘spectacle’. I say good for Catherine for having boundaries. Free pass? Get. Over. Yourself. It’s just an excuse to bully someone and it’s disgusting. Like when Sean Lennon dare post “Spare Me” following reading the book. Death threats from the Sussex Squad followed, amongst the predictable and coordinated pile on. What about what he’s gone through in his life?
Or the people who use food banks every day so that they can feed themselves and their families and rely on the Trussell Trust? A charity that was also targeted by the Sussex Squad, and harassed by them for no reason other than them benefiting from much needed fund raising. That is hate, vitriol and bullying on a grand and organised scale.

This photo however tells me all I need to know. When someone shows you who they are, believe them.

It's looking as if Palace PR did a sterling job of keeping the real Harry under wraps and making a lot of his bad behaviour disappear. He's been unable to maintain the veneer, even with the backing of his current PR firm.

And speaking of people leaking stuff to the press, the good ol' Duke and Duchess of Sussex have done plenty of that themselves. Omid Scobie obviously has Megan's hand up his arse, and of course Meghan had to apologise in court for 'forgetting' her contribution to the odious Scobie's teenfanfic biography.

"Stinky"?
Has the king brought back "stink" in all its variants by his use of "stinking"?

What's this about?
Googling wasn't helpful and I'm curious now.
What feelings and thoughts did William apparently leak?

DunkThatBastardBiscuit · 16/07/2024 08:50

a. That Harry is a knob?
b. That he never wanted the bigger sausage?
c. That the dog bowl knows what really happened?
d. That the necklace had Harry’s name and address on so he could find his way home?
e. That Uncle Andra had set him up with her on purpose so that he would bugger off and not spill the beans?

Could be bloody anything LaMarschallin. 😏

DunkThatBastardBiscuit · 16/07/2024 08:51

Could be all levels of stinky.

Biscuit. Aged 4 1/4.

MummyJ12 · 16/07/2024 09:27

Harry certainly seems the dodgy brother out of the two. He’s already had to apologise to a Judge for leaking court case information.
Now it seems that he’s destroyed evidence and is being asked to explain himself.
I think Harry might be the leaky sieve here. Not William. There’s always something from a source in their camp when it suits them. It’s also why Harry isn’t allowed to be around his dad by himself, because he can’t be trusted. Like when he had 20 minutes with him after the cancer announcement, then less than 24 hours later, he was giving an interview.

MummyJ12 · 16/07/2024 09:49

StrawberriesandCreamTea · 15/07/2024 20:52

Lots of scraping the barrel here to throw shade at Harry. All irrelevant, as it’s already been reported that Venus hugged Harry when they met and chit chatted when seated next to one another.

Why did she not stand for the (partial) standing ovation in the room for Harry and why did she not clap for him then I wonder?

StormzyinaTCup · 16/07/2024 10:11

I’m curious:

  1. Venus, so we are told, was chatty with PH & MM in the earlier part of the evening.
  2. Venus made it very clear she was not happy at the point Harry went to collect his award
  3. PH & MM rather rudely and disrespectfully left the evening early
so the burning question is:

What happened backstage?🤔😊

Vespanest · 16/07/2024 10:11

The argument that the palace fed the media when the actual complaint seems to be that the palace failed to suppress actual incidents that included Harry. The idea that the palace has control of the media yet completely failed to protect themselves from hacking, and the recent Catherine exposure. PR pushes is one thing that happens and still happens (why would you hire people to do it), but the idea that Harry was pushed under a bus for disclosing factual events is all kinds of weird logic.
