A fitting endorsement from Fred Hargreaves OBE who on X wrote, “As ever, a genuine and heart-felt speech from the Duke of Sussex - the driving force and passion behind the #InvictusGames. So good to see this Award, and share the stage with Elizabeth, Kirsty and Israel.”

From the Royal Website, how the ‘driving force’ - Harry - brought Invictus into being:

https://www.royal.uk/invictus-games

Positive Harry posts have been flooding X. Haters were out too. Some negatively posting in a quasi-forensic manner. No ‘gotcha’ revelations, however, nor tens of thousands of likes which the repost of Harry’s speech on ESPN by the knowledgeable Robert Griffin III now has. In less than 2 days 51+K likes and still rising.

I also checked out some (too many) #Sussexsquad posters. It revealed teachers, veterans, different nationalities, colours, creeds, nurses, retired folk etc etc. Thus I formed a completely different understanding about the use of the hashtag to support the Sussex family. There were also very strange users of the hashtag too. The hashtag was additionally utilised to send the message out on X to put the anti-Harry and Meghan posters or ‘derangers’, as they are often called, on mute and not to engage. Quite a restrained and civil position to promote and many did just that. Invictus awareness was successfully brought to those who had never heard of the international fraternity of veterans with disabilities and injuries by this hashtag alone.

Watching the videos on X I saw Harry speak with sincerity and humility under pressure. His words, “The truth is, I stand here not as Prince Harry, Pat Tillman Award recipient, but rather a voice on behalf of the Invictus Games Foundation and the thousands of veterans and service personnel from over 20 nations who have made the Invictus Games a reality. This award belongs to them. Not to me.”

Harry has now been awarded, by a very diverse online presence, a new respect. And I do believe he’s also a jolly good fellow…and so say many, many, many of us. 😊💙

I am so glad I went on my very new X twitter account for I was disgusted with the Daily Mail’s use of Pat Tillman’s mother to denigrate Prince Harry as it was totally uncalled for. Call it for what it was - a hit piece of journalism designed to create a mini storm online. We know nothing about the context of how they obtained words supposedly said by Pat’s mother about Harrry. I was aghast too at how Pat’s widow has also been treated by some online posters. Her foundation may not be perfect but she does more than anyone to honour him. Pat’s mother also did not go on any mainstream American media either where her complaints would have been listened to and would have provided the much needed context for the hate motivated article by a newspaper under the spotlight for its nefarious journalism and click bait articles about Harry.

Harry’s response was beautiful. The way Harry acknowledged Pat’s mother went further than him being a royal. It was a standout out moment of what being human is all about. I do believe he’s also a jolly good fellow…and so say many, many, many of us. 😊💙

The previous posters babbling on about Harry being the anointed one are giving me the urge to donate to the Heritage Foundation. It's sill Bastille Day here in the US . Vive le revolution!

They're making me want to throw up!!!

Maybe they meant : God! King Harry?! 💀💀😬😱💩

Trying to imagine why they went backstage for an hour ? Surely anyone worth hobnobbing with ( in H and M’s opinion) would be in the audience?

Maybe they were just copying what the Royal family do, without really knowing why 😆

StrawberriesandCreamTea · 15/07/2024 20:52

Lots of scraping the barrel here to throw shade at Harry. All irrelevant, as it’s already been reported that Venus hugged Harry when they met and chit chatted when seated next to one another.

Nobody else needs to scrape the barrel for Harry, he's done that for himself.

No barrel scraping required! He's more than capable of regularly making himself look like a twat, and he does!

In your opinion. Going after him constantly shows up only those who do it. Same as for those who go after Catherine. You’re all doing the same thing.

No. Catherine is being attacked for no reason, other than she's the Princess of Wales. The attacks are often about her illness and are vile. Have a look at the thread currently running about Wimbledon.
Harry is being criticised for what he has said and done. There is a very distinct difference. Particularly the extraordinary decision to accept an award for Invictus.

In the opinion of everyone who listens to what he is telling us, what he has said, what he has written, and how he behaves.

I used to really like Harry. The only person that has changed my opinion of Harry, is Harry.

Catherine hasn't put a foot wrong. Totally different.

TBF every time the entertainment barrel finally appears to be scraped bare Harold finds another trapdoor.

Always here for it 🍿

Such a brass neck of him after what the mother of the man in whose name the award is handed out.

Harry has been gone after for walking out of the RF like a child and going on to betray their privacy in print, on film as in interviews ; Oprah, Netflix, Spare and all the lies therein; casually accusing racism within the RF and backtracking on it, but staying silent when Omid Scobie (using information that can only have leaked from H&M) accused his sister in law and father; sat silent during an online hate storm against his family and in particular Catherine made in his name and with his support, both tacit and enthusiastic; used his mother time and time again to further his victimhood agenda, seeking to use her memory for his sole use to the exclusion of his brother; attacked the First Amendment and free speech via his work with the Aspen Institute; runs a foundation with questionable financials and governance; runs an environmental travel company (again, dubious financials) whist taking numerous private jets; has sought to undermine the UK head of state by faux royal visits to Jamaica and Nigeria; picks up awards that he has no right receiving; sets himself up as a mental health guru for children whilst smoking and ingesting drugs; history of racism, violent behaviour and lewd public behaviour. I could go on and on. He scrapes the barrel in his every move.

What has Catherine done to warrant being gone after?

DelectableMe · 15/07/2024 21:21

Unbelievable, and an example of what we're discussing. Harry keeps giving plenty of material!

Depends where you want to start and how it was done. Newspapers, social media, journalists lined up to write and post abominable articles. Slowly but surely a woman was baited and criticised in a very unique manner. A climate was created here in the UK and slowly a public was persuaded to see her in a particular way.

Harry wrote a book, more people than not loved it. I certainly see no problem in writing about his life and his interactions with those around him. I always found it interesting that William chose the South African tour to leak his feelings and thoughts to the press. Sources close to KP principals forever feeding the media. Harry has gone on record and good for him! Meghan. She told the truth about her life. Her experiences. How everyone chooses to interpret that is up to them. I can only imagine what the trolling of her online has done to her mental health. Depression and suicide ideation is something many people live with but do not necessarily share with others. So many people say they are shocked when someone they know has taken their own life and they hadn’t a clue regarding their internal struggles. Smiling for the world and going out when inside there is despair is not unusual. It is why mental health issues are seen as invisible disabilities.

As for Catherine, Meghan spoke about what happened there and so did Harry. It seems she is not given a pass for her behaviour by the followers of Meghan. No different from those who adore Catherine yet continue to despise and assassinate the character of Meghan. Pot. Kettle. Nothing new to see.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 15/07/2024 21:48

Ah, so Catherine didn’t want to hug or share her lip balm. Those are her big crimes. And this warrants the Harkles complicity in her vilification to the most evil degree by people doing it in the name of Sussex. Silence being complicity and all.

Fuck right off with the false equivalence.

Load of nonsense! You are deluded. Meghan was warmly welcomed. Everything that happened was entirely their own fault, and the result of their own behaviour.

You must have very low standards.

And wasn't it Harry and Meghan who chose the South African tour to whine amongst all their privilege in a country where so many have nothing?!
