Princess Anne back to work today

I am very pleased to see that Princess Anne has been able to attend a Riding for the Disabled event at Hartpury University today. I expect she has been champing at the bit to be permitted to get back out and about. Good choice for first event back, horse related and very close to her home.

She's a star and an absolute trooper! True inspiration.

VeryOldMan · 12/07/2024 16:23

I wish she was on the throne and not her brother!

I've thought this for quite some time, although Charles as King is growing on me would still prefer Anne

Hermitreader · 12/07/2024 16:49

Let's just be very thankful that the injury sustained by Princess Anne was not more serious. When she had spent 5 nights at Southmead I did start to worry. She was originally supposed to be at an event in Gloucester last Friday but that got postponed. Let's hope that she is able to continue to do the role she does so well for a good bit longer. King Charles is growing on me too.

Yes - I hope she can get back to full fitness and resume her duties.

We need her at the moment.

Just seen photos on Telegraph website and Anne still has visible bruising to the face nearly 3 weeks after the incident. Apparently today's event was scaled down from an originally planned two hours to just under one hour. It sounds sensible as a first step back.

Here she is - bit of bruising under her eye. She's alive and well. ☺️

@CoffeeCantata "Yes - I hope she can get back to full fitness and resume her duties.

I hope she recovers soon too. Horses are dangerous things and it sounds as if she's been lucky.

What do we need her for?

ReadyTeddy1000 · 13/07/2024 02:57

Jeez she has v thick makeup on that side of her face, it looks as if her cheek is still bruised too, which is bad after 3 weeks. She's been very very lucky, I think.
She still can't remember what happened, which is likely a good thing.

I also saw photos of her smiling, and her mouth or teeth look different than previously

LaMarschallin · 13/07/2024 06:45

I agree ReadyTeddy1000.
That's not a bit of bruising - the whole left side of her face is yellow and purple despite the makeup.
I'd say she's being extremely brave. Certainly know people less than half her age who'd still be off work.

One hour of “work” ? Yeah we really needed that 🤔 🍿🍿

In your seventies after a few days in hospital with a concussion and what looks like severe bruising, when you are expected to appear in public and press the flesh. Whether you think it’s “work” or not, it’s what she does. So I think it’s worth admiring her fortitude

LaMarschallin · 13/07/2024 07:21

I'm curious about the random popcorn emojis.
This doesn't promise to be a particularly juicy thread or anything.
It's a change from multiple "weeping with laughter" ones I suppose.

Lisbeth50 · 13/07/2024 07:22

I wouldn't call that " a bit of bruising under her eye"! It's the whole of one side of her face. It must have looked horrific 2 weeks ago.

Indeed. Which probably explains why she wasn’t out and about any sooner

The ghouls are up early.

Great to see Anne back, but she shouldn’t push herself too hard. Having said that, the charity she was highlighting today is a really great one, so I am glad she is back to service.

smilesy · 13/07/2024 08:13

I said elsewhere that she is channelling her inner Annie Lennox in that 80’s style trouser suit 😆

PersonallyVictimizedByReginaGeorge · 13/07/2024 08:18

Glad she's OK. The RF would be screwed without her.

Nosummerontheagenda · 13/07/2024 08:38

She looks like she’s really been through the mill poor woman.

I totally agree. Cutting the visit back from 2 hours to 1 probably made it doable in the circumstances. I hope she is heading up to Balmoral soon for recuperation. If that's how her face looks after 3 weeks I dread to think how bad it was to start with. The 5 nights in hospital is now fully explained.

I've had concussion. 3 times. It's absolutely not fun.

Lifeinlists · 13/07/2024 10:02

That looks awful even now. I hope she's ok as concussion can affect you for weeks or even months sometimes.
She's definitely earned some R&R at Balmoral.

RocketsMagnificent7 · 13/07/2024 10:59

W&C have posted about PA's visit yesterday, on their instagram, with the caption 'Super trooper! So great to see you back so soon! W&C x'

Knowing Anne, it probably is an 80s original!

Bless her, glad she's OK.

And why not?
New outfit for every occasion is wasteful in the extreme.
