Princess Anne back to work today

I am very pleased to see that Princess Anne has been able to attend a Riding for the Disabled event at Hartpury University today. I expect she has been champing at the bit to be permitted to get back out and about. Good choice for first event back, horse related and very close to her home.

I didn't say her looking immaculate upsets me.
I also said they're under no obligation to do anything at all.

My apologies. You would merely find her looking pristine disheartening.

Under no obligation, and yet post after post about why they are not showing the hellish truth. Why post then? What’s your point and what do you want them to show?

LaMarschallin · 13/07/2024 17:14

Just a final thought: some might find it more "upsetting" to be told to "grow up" and that what they'd written was "bullshit".
Luckily I managed to cope.
I must be more grown up than some, I suppose.

@ReadyTeddy1000 you said

"Re the photos, it was just a thought. When my sister was ill with breast cancer and struggled to get through a day, looking and feeling like death, it would have been disheartening for me as her sister to see someone also going through chemo looking pristine. "

Pristine? Immaculate?

??

Post after post?!?! I was replying to others after my one post.

PrincessMee · 13/07/2024 17:18

@ReadyTeddy1000 you don't see a connection between pristine and immaculate?

ReadyTeddy1000 · 13/07/2024 16:17

I didn't blame the RF for what the press said. If that's how it comes across, it's not what I meant.

Re the photos, it was just a thought. When my sister was ill with breast cancer and struggled to get through a day, looking and feeling like death, it would have been disheartening for me as her sister to see someone also going through chemo looking pristine.
That's all. It wasn't anything more or less than that, so please stop ripping apart my comment as it's upsetting.

The two friends I have who have had chemo while also having young children have tried their hardest to look normal (always wearing a wig for example) in front of their children. This may not be everyone's choice, but it was their choice as they tried to reassure their children. Maybe the Princess of Wales feels that photos of her in the press looking as bad as she feels may not be the most reassuring thing for her three pre-teen children?

But you are still not saying what it is you want Anne and Catherine to do. You have deflected. So why not set out what you want them to do as per your original post.

shufflestep · 13/07/2024 17:22

And Anne has gone out with bruising clearly still visible, so I really don't know what she is being knocked for!

PrincessMee · 13/07/2024 17:18

What are you talking about though? I haven't denied that I said that, I honestly don't understand that point?

Oh grow up. I didn't say any of that bullshit, as you well know.

It was clear that I said they're under no obligation to show anything.
The photos of Anne are heavily made up, and Catherine has looked nothing short of immaculate since her diagnosis.
My only thought is that the public image hides the hellish reality of it all.

Immaculate.

She’s been seen twice, in her original (forced by cunts) video explaining her diagnosis (and before her chemo started); and at TTC.

Apparently that’s two times too many looking too good for some.

Why so patronising?
Esp when disheartening and upset DO NOT mean the same.

This sort of comment is exactly why I've not elaborated anything further to my original post

Initally I was replying to someone who had said something similar, and was simply -

"It's similar to celebs having a baby then looking perfect again almost immediately - regular people in similar situations could feel inferior or useless.
In some ways it'd be a positive thing for PA and for Catherine to release some real photos showing the reality of what they're going through - but obviously I know they're under no obligation to do so, it's just a thought"

It wasn't a huge deal. It was "just a thought".
Since then, that very basic post has turned into comments saying I'm doing "post after post" about it, that its weird that I felt disheartened when someone looks immaculate when having chemo. (I didn't say i wanted her to look awful and I didn't say that those who have come out the other side should in any way agree, and I didn't say it upset me).

Aconite20 · 13/07/2024 17:35

I'm not a Royalist in the slightest but she's one of the family I have a lot of time for. I don't think people realise how hard she works or how often she will take the less glamorous assignments. She also has a reputation for doing her research before appearances that appeals. Agree it's a great shame we never had an Anne II rather than a Charlie III... hope she recovers fully very soon.

Again, I haven't said this.

Yes, I agree. I actually love the Royals (most of them, I mean), and think Anne is incredible 😍

This is blowing my mind.
In what way am I disingenuous?!

You’ve started off by saying it would be a positive thing for Catherine to “release some real photos showing the reality” and criticised the “public image [hiding] the hellish reality”, and that “Catherine has looked nothing short of immaculate since her diagnosis”. Catherine has been seen twice and only once during treatment. So yes, your implied criticism is that on the two times she has been seen she has looked too good (immaculate).

Goading isn't pleasant. I haven't deserved this vitriol for what I have posted.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 13/07/2024 22:08

Neither is suggesting that a cancer patient post pictures of her pain for good PR. You’ve received criticism and questioning for that suggestion.
