She did say "naff off" to a photographer.

She did. An aggressive photographer when he was being intrusive - she'd just fallen off her horse.
It is extremely unpleasant to claim that any person who you don't know, would be rude, arrogant and uncooperative with nursing staff working to help them.
It unjustified and uncalled for.

DelectableMe · 25/06/2024 20:30

I'm glad she told the goady and intrusive photographer to "naff off".
Better than collapsing on the floor, weeping.

ARichtGoodDram · 25/06/2024 20:30

She’s also not a stupid woman. She knows that if she’s remotely rude to the staff someone will sell the story.

The last thing she’s going to do is cause her brother the grief of a “royals rude to nhs staff” outrage.

DelectableMe · 25/06/2024 20:32

Also, she meets hundreds of people every week, each month, over the years.
Always interested, polite, punctual, supportive and good humoured. A proper public servant in other words. Not about money or fame.

HadMeABlast · 25/06/2024 20:34

It may not have even been true if this article is correct.

If she did? That does not automatically mean she would be rude to nurses.

Quite. Having seen how photographers behave Around her she's a saint for not just punching them in the face. One of them elbowed my little sister in the face (we were there to see Princess Anne make a presentation to a family member)

DelectableMe · 25/06/2024 20:36

Interesting, @HadMeABlast .
The pressmen who harassed her should be ashamed.
A strong woman is a target for them, though.
It actually doesn't surprise me that it was made up, and has been perpetuated.

Ohpleeeease · 25/06/2024 20:37

I never believed PA would say “Naff off”. Horsey people use much riper language than that.

Low life. Imagine doing that. They're only fawning if you play their game eg celebs booking them for pap walks.

HadMeABlast · 25/06/2024 20:39

I forgive myself for having to produce evidence to the contrary of popular belief.

I also forgive myself for not making up shite.

Shame if she didn't - I thought it was brilliant!

She didn't - it was a better one but the press used naff 😂

She’s the very best of her mam and dad there.

I thought that photo of her on the right was William at first glance.

Fabulous lips.

Oh dear. A few funny bones missing tonight.
I'm sure Anne wouldn't knowingly be rude to nurses but she doesn't suffer fools gladly. I can imagine she may get a bit intemperate if they keep asking her what her name is. But I daresay they have better ways of assessing confusion these days.

DelectableMe · 25/06/2024 21:16

How do you know she'd get intemperate?
Why do you think she would be rude?
It's not lacking a sense of humour to wonder why someone would slag off a woman in hospital - with no evidence whatsoever.
Just made up to make her look bad.
Awful.

HadMeABlast · 25/06/2024 21:18

Oh dear.

Funny bones are engaged when something is funny.

They’re not missing but under-stimulated.

Ohpleeeease · 25/06/2024 21:21

I’m curious about how the nurses address her. Not “lovely” or “my darling” like the rest of us I don’t suppose!

Well I don’t of course. That’s why I’m curious!

Your Highness I’m pretty sure.

hastalav · 25/06/2024 21:25

They'll call her Anne I reckon. She might call them something else depending on what they are doing to her at the time though.

Calliopespa · 25/06/2024 21:24

For once the docs and staff will be looking down on her though. Your lowness.

Your Highness I’m pretty sure.

Your Royal Highness even. Or Ma’am.
