I don’t know anyone in real life who is so concerned with class.

But meanwhile, in other news, some will be furiously gieing it laldy with their dabbers.

does veneration mean something different to you @JawJaw ?

No, you said 5 was not “a few” which is entirely your subjective opinion. You are clearly trying to imply that the palace was lying about the seriousness of the injury on the basis of pure conjecture

I'm not implying, I am stating it!

Is it not understandable given the illness of KC and Princess Catherine that they would play it down?

You can tell from the from the wording of the press release,

"On Monday, the palace said Anne would “make a full and swift recovery” and was being treated at in Southmead Hospital as “a precautionary measure for further observation.”

But her husband, Timothy Laurence, visiting her a day later, acknowledged that her recovery, while steady, had been “slow.”"

That's from the NY Times, not my fevered imagination btw.

AliceOlive · 30/06/2024 15:39

How are those two statements opposed?
She’s 73 and got kicked in head by a horse. That’s going to take some recovery.

Is it that you think she’s permanently injured?

AliceOlive · 30/06/2024 15:41

I mean, my neighbor is 90 and just fell on her patio and hit her head. She had a concussion and also a sore shoulder and is now in rehab for the shoulder. She felt pretty bad for about ten days. But it IS minor in the scheme of things. To say she’s ok and will make a full recovery is accurate.

Well they didn’t mean it was nothing, but it’s not serious in the scheme of things as @AliceOlive said. Why are you so determined to make this more of an issue than it is, would be my question. You are definitely trying to read more in to this than is there. The press releases and what her husband said were the same here as in the NY times but I don’t see why you are being a
drama Llama about it. She had a whack on the head, concussion, was observed and has now gone home. It will take a little time to get over it but it’s not “serious”. Not hard to understand

It's so predictable 🥱

PrincessMee · 30/06/2024 16:27

@Circularbreathing6789 please do tell us what the situation is then. I already asked if you were her doctor?

CobbyMouthed · 30/06/2024 20:49

JawJaw · 30/06/2024 14:54

Yes she might enjoy a tipple at home but avoid drinking while on official duties because she’s a jolly sensible gal, good egg, down to earth, full of common sense blah blah.

Oh come on, I imagine (I don’t know because I have never met her and neither have 95 percent of people on this thread) she’s quite pleasant if you met her in public because she has been brought up to put commoners at ease. But why the fawning over her? Lots of upper class women are like her; non nonsense horsey types like Clare Balding. Pleasant but really not worth the exaggerated veneration.

Have you seen how her brother Andrew and nephew Harry behave? Now ask yourself why Anne, in comparison, is admired.

Give it time 🙄

Given the propensity of the Palace to play down health issues I think we can be certain she is more injured than they are letting on. We are seeing the collapse of the slimmed down BRF in real time, those reinforcments planned for the balcony can be put on hold indefinately. If Kate can't / chooses not to come back in any meaningful sense then we're done. That's it. Finito.

Well both Zara and Peter were at Wimbledon today, so they are obviously not that worried. She’s had a concussion. It takes a while to get over 🤷‍♀️

CobbyMouthed · 11/07/2024 07:54

Concussion can have permanent side effects. I suspect Anne is sensible enough to make sure press releases are accurate.

I reckon it would make more sense to ask the Mystic Meerkats!

It's really easy to find what public appearances members of the Windsor family are making.

Go to www.royal.uk/media-centre scroll down to "The Royal Diary" and click on it. Then choose e.g. the Princess Royal from the drop down menu in the "Member of the Royal Family" box, choose the date range and click on "Search".

For instance Princess Anne will be visiting a lighthouse off the West coast of Scotland on 15 and 16 July.

So, up and about apparently.
