Sorry you're going through this.

Part of what her doctors will do is monitor her at intervals even after her chemotherapy (and/or radiation) are finished, and depending on her cancer, she may well take medication for a longish ttrials. Some women take anti estrogen meds for years after chemo/ radiation for certain types of breast cancer, for example.

Depending on the type of cancer, location, etc, she may well need blood tests, MRIs, mammograms, pap smears, bone density scans, or biopsies at regular intervals for a good few years.

I don't think cancer patients ever get an unconditional all-clear.

Yes, You are unlikely to hear a medic use the term "all clear". After subsequent scans and tests they may tell the patient there is "no evidence of disease" (NED) which we all hope for, of course.

I’d be MORE impressed if the thread POLIS had a go at the posts which MERIT a pop. Not THE ones that make valid POInts.

GOLLYgoshBAZinga indeed. …sake.

This is lovely news, I can't imagine how hard it must be for her, not only having cancer and all the worry that brings but to have been criticised so much on sm.

Redglitter · 14/06/2024 21:43

It depends on the drugs really, not whether it's preventive or the primary treatment

Yes Im aware of that but it was preventative chemo my friend had which is precisely why I mentioned that and the fact the doctors told her before hand that the chemo she was getting shouldn't affect her hair

Lifelikinotdothinki · 14/06/2024 21:49

I really hope she’s going to be okay. I’ve had cancer it’s an awful time and the not knowing is horrendous. Everything crossed for such a beautiful young woman.

For ... sake -DOES IT MATTER!!!

No it does NOT - give it a rest, please!!

It absolutely does matter, because THAT Mother's Day photo was released to photo agencies as well as through their SM, it allowed the PA's to pull that ridiculous stunt.

If the Wales' are now only releasing images through their SM that means they're standing up to the news agencies and reclaiming their independence. Edit: as well as reducing the influence of the news & photo agencies.

What is with the thread polis?

Some folk WOULD try start a fight in an EMPTY paper bag and need to GIVE it a fucking REST themselves.

Loving the random capitals!😂
That's a great phrase, start a fight in an empty paper bag!

I see Bouzy had stuck his boot in , stating that the photo released of Catherine has been photoshopped , he really is a nasty man.

IsoldeWagner · 14/06/2024 22:27

Oh for God's sake, has he? What a vile man.

Whilst I agree that it isn’t necessary to bring in to this discussion, please don’t be flippant about tics. As a parent of a child with Tourette’s, it is tedious when this happens. Sorry for derail

My post has been deleted , and I can see how people, mums net h.q. included got the wrong end of the stick. What I meant was that I am delighted that she feels well enough to be seen in public again. It's bad enough to be ill, but to have to be ill in the public eye must be awful, and I truly wish her well. But, as we have seen in the past, our Montecito friends have a habit of popping up to divert the news. The weekend papers will surely be full of our brave Kate and wishing her the best. But I'm also sure that there will be some news from California, in an attempt to divert attention. Sorry if I offended, that was not my intention.

Who cares re the others??

What is important is the news/update re Kate and it is good news!!

I hope the weather comes out for the Royal family tomorrow!!!

Lillieloola · 14/06/2024 23:05

Great news that Catherine feels well enough and confident for tomorrow. Hope the press and mumsnet are kind. Cannot imagine how hard it will be for her tomorrow.

Beafyudders · 14/06/2024 23:10

Don’t be sorry smilesy

You are right to call that pish out.

RedRosesPinkLilies · 14/06/2024 23:25

@smilesy completely agree. Right to call that out x

GrouchyKiwi · 14/06/2024 23:34

It's a good statement, and a lovely photo. I am glad she feels well enough to take part.
