That was a very touching and humble message. So great to see her looking well and I’m sure many will identify with her ups and downs. She shouldn’t feel under any pressure to ‘appear’ in public.

LakeTiticaca · 14/06/2024 21:03

Great news. I doubt she will have felt forced to appear in public, she must feel ready.
I've only just joined the thread so I haven't read any of the comments that have been deleted but I imagine they must be quite spiteful towards a mother of 3 young children who is battling cancer 🙄

MummyJ12 · 14/06/2024 21:07

Was the photo and message released only through their social media accounts again does anyone know? I think it was a good move to have a professional photographer take the photo.
It seems like their way forward is to not release through the agencies.

So pleased to hear this. What time is ToC on telly tmw, anyone know?

Does not out of the woods mean the cancer hasn't gone, she's not had the all clear or she could still die?

I know no one knows but I was just wondering.

I had biopsy results this week and mine were ambiguous so looking for clarity really.

Sorry you're going through this.

Part of what her doctors will do is monitor her at intervals even after her chemotherapy (and/or radiation) are finished, and depending on her cancer, she may well take medication for a longish ttrials. Some women take anti estrogen meds for years after chemo/ radiation for certain types of breast cancer, for example.

Depending on the type of cancer, location, etc, she may well need blood tests, MRIs, mammograms, pap smears, bone density scans, or biopsies at regular intervals for a good few years.

I don't think cancer patients ever get an unconditional all-clear.

My post has been deleted , and I can see how people, mums net h.q. included got the wrong end of the stick. What I meant was that I am delighted that she feels well enough to be seen in public again. It's bad enough to be ill, but to have to be ill in the public eye must be awful, and I truly wish her well. But, as we have seen in the past, our Montecito friends have a habit of popping up to divert the news. The weekend papers will surely be full of our brave Kate and wishing her the best. But I'm also sure that there will be some news from California, in an attempt to divert attention. Sorry if I offended, that was not my intention.

Just stop. No one is buying your crap.

No she was not and no one would IMO

It is indeed great to hear she is able to come out with the world zooming in on here

As Kate stated in her message, she will have ups and downs.
I feel for Kate, her kids, her DH and her family

Sorry, but I can't help wondering about her hair and chemo. As anyone who has had to go through the chemo regime would wonder. I know there are some chemo drugs that do not result in hair loss. Hope hers is one of them

My friend had preventative chemo which lasted about 6 months. She was told before it started she would be unlikely to loose her hair because of the chemo they were using. She lost none & it didn't thin at all.

It depends on the drugs really, not whether it's preventive or the primary treatment.

Some drugs will cause hair loss and some won't.

I'd imagine she has been able to find a lovely wig or two. Many mothers of young children, who are going through chemo, opt for a wig as it reduces the distress their children experience.

VictorianChic · 14/06/2024 21:14

That Spanish journo with the “inside info” is probably feeling a bit silly. I hope she hasn’t been paying her mendacious source.

Beafyudders · 14/06/2024 21:15

What is with the thread polis?

Some folk WOULD try start a fight in an EMPTY paper bag and need to GIVE it a fucking REST themselves.

It matters. Stop it yourself. I don’t want anymore hassle for her. That’s all. Is that ok?! For goodness sake.

I don’t this he anything to do with her wanting to go to Wimbledon ! She literally missed no engagements or duties in her 13 years of marriage

When she has only averaged 2 or 3 engagements per week, at least in the last few years, and with some of those only being video calls, I’d hope she hadn’t missed any/many. She’s hardly overworked.

always looks great

What time is ToC on telly tmw, anyone know?

The procession normally arrives at Horse Guards at 11.00, so will depart the Palace some time before that. If you're watching by 10.30, that should be in plenty of time to see the procession, but avoid most of the wittering on by the commentators and their studio guests.

I expect it will all be on i-Player later.

Beafyudders · 14/06/2024 21:20

@MummyJ12

The point you made was fair enough. And, in my opinion, a sensible way forward.

I’m pleased Kate is feeling better. Currently have a close family member having chemo and I understood the good and bad days.

💐💐💐 to everyone who has had or gone through chemotherapy

StormzyinaTCup · 14/06/2024 21:21

Good news and a lovely message that will resonate with many people.

@MummyJ12I think releasing through their SM account(s) is the way to go so I too would be interested to know. Ignore the thread police.

Hedjwitch · 14/06/2024 21:22

Not a royalist, but delighted for her. Cancer is a bastard.

The coverage starts at 10.30
and yes it is on iplayer shortly after it finishes. The coverage lasts about 2.5 hours

Oh here we go.

Here we go? It’s factual information on record. If someone is going to praise her for not missing an engagement in 13 years, what’s the problem with pointing it out?

When I worked part time, 12 hours over 2 days, I missed less work than when I worked 50 hours a week over 6 days.
