The RF PR machine are reputably top class and it shows. After months of Meghan doing her Royal cosplaying, pissing off people in Nigeria, the cold cold message after the cancer announcement and supporting the groups who are harassing and threatening Catherine, to come out with such class gives amazing optics to both C and the RF.

I don’t normally like to pit women against each other but the behaviour of the Montecito twits lately just makes me smug knowing they are so easily outshone

Gorgeous photo. I think it was a wise decision to use a professional photographer on this occasion.

Same for me. I had chemo for breast cancer. The cooling cap saved my hair, I was so happy about that! It makes a huge difference psychologically when you don't "look" like a cancer patient. It doesn't work for everybody but I was very glad it worked for me.

Exactly that. I am an old biddy and yet it was important to me that no one could 'see' that I was having to have chemo. I also did not want my grandchildren to know that and worry.

JSMill · 14/06/2024 19:02

@ItsNotAShopItsAStore I agree about how cold that message was. How bitter do you have to be not to have empathy with someone who has been diagnosed with cancer?

I think it’s quite sad she has to pose for a picture in the middle of chemo. Best wishes to her

They have received tens of thousands of cards and letters. I think she has chosen to release a photograph to thank the many many people who are wishing her well. It's part of what makes the Royal family the Royal family. It also reminds me of what she said about posing on the steps with George, she saw it as part of her duty and her position and the life she chose.

Plus of course it devalues pap shots which get printed abroad even if not here.

Gorgonemilezola · 14/06/2024 19:04

Beautiful photo and lovely statement.

Yep. It was almost arsey!

Someone on here pointed out they also used a first name the PoW doesn’t even use (Kate) and they never refer to titles. It’s an interesting point.

Anyway I’m looking forward to Trooping the Colour, I always watch it anyway but I bet ratings now go through the roof

Supersimkin7 · 14/06/2024 19:14

She’s had six months off and MacMillan tell you to do a bit of work if you can at this point cos it takes your mind off illness.

Good move.

I didn’t realise this. It’s great advice and Catherine is obviously very good at accepting and following advice……!

JSMill · 14/06/2024 19:19

They don't use other people's titles but make sure other people use theirs.

It's one photo, not a day down the mines.

That comment was meant for a different thread!!

upinaballoon · 14/06/2024 19:21

Well, that was a nice piece of news just before 6 p.m. I think the colour (flag) which is going to be trooped is that of her? regiment? Didn't she send them a message a week or two ago? I'll go and google it. Irish somethings?

Jeezitneverends · 14/06/2024 19:25

That’s a lovely message…hoping she has a good day tomorrow, I’m sure there will be lost of support for her

ajandjjmum · 14/06/2024 19:26

Great news - and I'm sure William will have made 100% sure it's what she wants and that she's up to it, rather than been pushed into taking part.

She won't take the salute, as Colonel of the Irish Guards, but she'll be well enough to be there. Good. I wonder if she will wear green or have green buttons or have a shamrock.

Here we go again the same as the deleted message - give it a rest ffs this is about Princess Catherine tommorow nothing else. Get a life. You are not doing your cause any good if that's what it is.

It's the very first time I have reported anyone. Meghan has nothing to do with this and has no desire to compete with Kate. They both fabulously walk the paths they have chosen

Hear Hear.

Good news!

Seconded!

Good news re Kate.

ColumboTheBestDetective · 14/06/2024 19:36

As a mum first and foremost, I'm so pleased to see this photo and statement tonight.

My DSs are older now than the Wales' children, but I can only imagine how difficult these last few months have been for William and Catherine with their children still so young.

I know some people have said that Catherine attending Trooping tomorrow will distract from the King's day, but I have no doubt that she has Charles' full support in releasing this statement today, and his full support in attending tomorrow.

He's not always been so selfless, but I think over recent years (and we can only speculate as to why...) he's realised that it's important to keep the family you trust close. And Catherine is part of that family.

I can't wait to watch TOC tomorrow now, with Catherine happy with her children. It's all any mother would want - a nice 'day out' with her children (even though most of us don't do it so publicly!)

Good news. The post made me smile. Lovely photo of the princess too. 👑

RosaRoja · 14/06/2024 19:38

That was a very touching message. It felt personal and genuine.

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 14/06/2024 19:39

It's great news but the cynic in me thinks she had to do an event that wouldn't have been seen to be a jolly before going to Wimbledon (and I can't see her missing that) otherwise she'd get slated by the nut jobs out there like they did with the Mothers day photo and the farm shop visit.

I wish her well and hope she's okay, my Dad currently has cancer so it's quite sobering.
