There was no “official narrative” . There was a picture taken by William and provided to the press associations. AP said it had been photoshopped. They have never said in what material way the photoshopping rendered the photo an unreliable depiction of its subjects. They pulled it because it is their policy to do so, apparently for any photoshopping. Catherine issued a statement saying she had photoshopped it and was sorry for the confusion. The photo was used by Bouzy and his followers to render Catherine beaten, dead,in a coma, a body double, AI etc etc. Those remarks arrived on this site. You may not have participated in them, but it didn’t stop it happening. And just because you don’t remember it, it doesn’t mean the rest of us don’t.

We remember. It’s not going to work to come tell us what happened as if we weren’t here to see it.

I saw countless threads and posts at that time that were awful, we all saw it !
To try and downplay it and change the narrative now is pointless.
We saw , we remember and the threads are still available to view!

And yes, the remarks were absolutely designed to rip Catherine to shreds, cast aspersions on her marriage and damage her standing in public opinion. Everyone knows she has been the main focus of all Bouzy’s attention and that of other Sussex acolytes like Scobie beforehand. I am not interested in gaslighting and revisionist narratives, thanks all the same.

No. I think FALSELY saying a person is a victim of DV is an attack on them because it suggests that they are in a position that no one should ever be in when THEY ARE NOT. Don’t try coming over with the moral high ground. You are deliberately twisting words and “misunderstanding “

Me too. I was disappointed that some previously frequent posters who were keen to support Meghan in previous threads when they felt she'd been attacked, disappeared and never came back. I was also horrified at the new names spreading vile rumours which were left to stand.

Since then, there have been numerous new names or name changers trying to stir up trouble and deny those threads ever happened. It doesn't wash.

You might have missed posts speculating that she was out of sight because of DV at the hands of William then, or the suggestion that she was recuperating from cosmetic surgery, or that she was bone idle and what was she in fact for, among other themes.

Talking about the photo itself was the least of it.

They are just defending them from people who have put malicious liars on pedestals.

Let’s see, how can a social media frenzy led by Sussex fans implying that Catherine’s marriage is so shit that her husband would kill/beat her, a story that her children might read one day or may well have heard contemporaneously; and that her beloved father in law and her beloved parents conspired to cover this up; and that there were plans to replace her with a double or move in William’s supposed mistress; and that internationally known commentators like Stephen Colbert were egging this on, along with a load of actors/personalities linked through the talent agency they share with her once beloved brother in law and the woman who has been gunning for her from the off. How could any of that possibly have NOT been a targeted attack on Catherine and everything she holds dear, her family and her reputation. Fuck right off with the gaslighting.
