@IcedPurple absolutely. Those unnecessary trips to Jamaica and Nigeria and his numerous private jet jollies don’t have the mark of a man terrified for the safety of himself, let alone anyone else.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/06/2024 14:44

I hope Prince Harry gets access to the intelligence reports and threat assessments

And risk seeing a (probably twisted) version spouted by Harry in his next interview/book?

You must be joking ... security assessments are kept confidential for very good reasons and it's hardly likely they'll be shared with someone who's shown himself to be so thoroughly indiscreet, no matter how much he insists he wants them

The thought of Harry whinging about what security assessments said and how unhappy he is with them and how all the members have it in for him would give Ravec nightmares. If they were stupid enough to give him access, anyway, which they aren't.

jeffgoldblum · 17/06/2024 14:50

Indeed! Let's not forget the photo posted by scoobie from inside bp while awaiting the funeral!
Not allowed and removed sharply but there is good reasons why the inside private area is off limits to the public!

IsoldeWagner · 17/06/2024 15:13

Dear lord. Harry is one of the last people you'd ever give security or intelligence information to!

IsoldeWagner · 17/06/2024 15:13

Dear lord. Harry is one of the last people you'd ever give security or intelligence information to!

Edward VIII gave the the palace nightmares because he used to leave dispatches lying around where anyone could read them and they'd come back with drink splashed on them and looking as if they'd been used as coasters.

Just imagine how he'd twist and misinterpret stuff. Enough to bring RAVEC out in a cold sweat.

Mylovelygreendress · 17/06/2024 15:43

So a Royal “ expert” claims that Harry and his family are in danger in the U.K. ? What evidence has he provided ?

mpsw · 17/06/2024 15:52

IcedPurple · 13/06/2024 17:47

"Treated differently" from whom, exactly? And how?

And the same 'institutions' which you, as his apparently official spokesperson, believes he no longer trusts, would be responsible for protecting him in this country. So perhaps it's best he just no longer visits Britain. There is no official reason for him to be here. Maybe it's best he just stays in California, with the occasional visit to famously safe countries like Nigeria?

Edited

The only way in which he is being treated differently is the more favourable levels of consideration he gets from RAVEC. No other non-working royal gets reassessed on request in this way (ie led by his diary and whereabouts)

We would probably be able to see if any non-working ever received individual close protection (I don't mean the sort that is inherent in living on a protected royal estate or when attending events where the protection is already in place for the other royals/VIPs attending). No sign of it so far.

I don't think raw intelligence is ever shared with anyone. The threat assessment (which is based on intelligence that has been assessed by the experts) can be drawn on to brief a person who needs to know.

Requests for the underlying intelligence strike me as nothing more than a fishing expedition, and I really can't see a reasonable justification to change that.

I know - even worse, they strongly suspected that their friend Ribbentrop had been appraised of the contents, if not directly from Edward, certainly Wallis. Baldwin had to act.

Harry's privilege continues.

Come again, @jeffgoldblum ??!!

I don't think I've seen that one, and while it's true Scobie likes to pretend to be "on the spot", surely they didn't allow him onto the royal rota?
Though even if they had, posting the sort of thing you describe would almost certainly be enough to get him off it again ...

BemusedAmerican · 17/06/2024 16:07

He's also chosen to live in a town that had to be evacuated last year due to mudslides and is devastated by wildfires every summer.

@Puzzledandpissedoff , it has been posted on mn quite awhile ago!
It's a black and white photo taken of Harry and Meghan stood just inside the large doors leading out of bp !
They are looking out ! Scoobie posted it , it was removed sharply! No idea who took it!!
I will try and find it , but it may take me a while unless another poster screenshot it ?
It was discussed widely at the time of the funeral.

I don't think Scobie would have been on the Royal rota, and of course it would not have been deployed at a major event such as the funeral.

The Royal rota is a press pool arrangement, whereby various MSM organisations take in in turns to supply staff so that Royal events which for whatever reason (eg location or size of venue, nature of engagement) mean that it makes more sense to cover by a pool, rather than every organisation sending a team. So typically, in the pool there would be one video camera operative, one stills photographer and one print reporter, whose output is then made generally available.

It is not a special club whose members get preferential treatment/briefings/whatever. That's an untruth that seems to have morphed into a myth that just won't go away, no matter how many times its actual nature is explained.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/06/2024 16:19

Oh dear, I genuinely missed that one @jeffgoldblum
If H&M were actually in the shot I have to wonder who took it and exactly how it reached this idiot, but just looking for the image I stumbled on a beauty from him in Harpers Bazaar, while claiming to have been given special media access to Westminster Hall for the Queen's lying in state:

"It was impossible not to be drawn to the crowds of people filing through the space, the quiet rustling of their coats and their cushioned footsteps on the thick beige carpet being the only audible sounds" (My bolding)

Maybe he saw the colour in someone else's photograph and mistook the mediaeval stone for carpet? Grin

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/06/2024 16:23

Ah - thanks for the link, @Mylovelygreendress, but at least the image was taken from outside; for an awful moment I thought he'd shoehorned his way into the place

Still a ridiculous thing to release on an occasion that really wasn't about H&M though ...

jeffgoldblum · 17/06/2024 16:24

@Mylovelygreendress that's the photo from the front!!!
The one scoobie posted is that moment but from behind them looking out ! It was black and white!!!

Apologies . I misread ( watching tennis at the same time) .
I didn’t see the other one .

He's got form for taking photographers into places not allowed! www.businessinsider.com/meghan-markle-prince-harry-took-photographer-to-palace-without-permission-2022-12

IsoldeWagner · 17/06/2024 16:36

I think they were trying to monetise those significant state events. What more indicator of status than a photo of themselves (black and white, as per usual) in the Head of State's official residence?
Necessary for Netflix, etc.
Status, privilege and money.

jeffgoldblum · 17/06/2024 16:40

For those who don't like to click

Will he or won’t he win the battle against the Home Office?
Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/06/2024 16:42

Just popping on to say I was very sorry to hear you've been poorly, @MrsDanversGlidesAgain

The other thread filled up before I could post it, but healing and happiness to you and yours Flowers

IsoldeWagner · 17/06/2024 16:43

Do we think a picture taken from behind is disrespectful?.

BemusedAmerican · 17/06/2024 16:43

Great shot of the back of Harry's head. 😁
