Oh, how I would love to interview this pair. No rehearsed questions, any word salad immediately cut off… and both wired up to a lie detector machine. I don’t want any of their truth - I want the truth.

Sounds like you’d give Emily Matlis a run for her money 😂

Mylovelygreendress · 11/06/2024 19:12

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 11/06/2024 18:25

You won’t get the truth though. I sometimes think they genuinely do think they were treated badly, even though it’s clear to most people that the RF bent over backwards to welcome her. The family she never had according to Harry in the engagement interview!

Apparently “ the family she never had” was also said at her first wedding . Even though both her parents were present.

CremeFresh · 11/06/2024 19:42

@MaturingCheeseball that would be amazing! Can we give you a list of questions to ask ?

CathyorClaire · 11/06/2024 20:47

Wasn't the Oprah rollover billed as 'no holds barred'?

Risible.

Apparently “ the family she never had” was also said at her first wedding

And this^^

Currently reading Tom Bower's still unsued 'Revenge'.

Strikes me as an invaluable record of the pre-Harold years.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 11/06/2024 20:53

I've never quite got how a woman who planned her career and personal life with the laser like focus of MM pre Harold (and ftr I very much envy that ability) seems unable to focus on creating something meaningful now.

thenightsky · 11/06/2024 21:00

I'd love to see Emily Matitlis interview them!

@Vignetta I totally agree with your post, except you mention that Meghan seemed to be very passionate about the animal rescue charity.

But I can't help but remember that Meghan left one of her rescue dogs behind in Canada when she moved to the U.K. the initial story was I think that he was "too old" to travel - the dog was 5.

Then later it was claimed that he didn't like Harry and that's why he was left behind.

Finally, I think Harry claimed that that the dog became aggressive due to the trauma created from the media frenzy and "siege" on Meghan's flat.

The first option is not credible, the third seems highly unlikely - the second more plausible (and I can see the third story being Harry's way to blame everything, once again, on the media). None of them stack up to me as credible reasons for a devoted animal lover to just ditch their beloved rescue pet. Even if the dog didn't like Harry (I wonder why!), there are animal behaviourists - it's not like they were short on money or time to work on the issue.

Seems to me that she has the same attitude to pets as she does to people - she loves them as long as they're convenient for her, and moves on without compunction as soon as they don't serve her purpose anymore.

I'd quite like to know how the much-loved dog broke its leg...

BlueParrotRedParrot · 11/06/2024 21:07

Both its front legs, I believe.

Wow. I didn’t hear about that 😳🤷‍♀️

MummyJ12 · 11/06/2024 21:17

That’s awful, how on Earth does a dog manage to break two of it’s legs?! Poor thing.

Did she leave the dog behind because she thought it was racist?

JuliaLivilla · 11/06/2024 21:42

@CoffeeCantata She's no Judi Dench, for sure! Judi Dench fell in love with theatre (not herself)
It is slightly similar, but always remember seeing an interview with the Australia actor, Anthony LaPaglia, about his experience playing In Arthur Miller's "View from the Bridge" on Broadway. It always stuck it my mind, because I had recently seem it on stage (in Sydney, not Broadway) and it was absolutely riveting and gut wrenching.

He and Alison Janney were completely caught up in an emotional scene, and because of the height difference she whacked him on the nose with her teeth. Neither realised until the went off stage that he had book streaming down his face.

I remember thinking that's really being in the moment and living life with every fibre of your being. I never appreciated the excitement that live performances much bring to the actor.

I tried and failed to attach a picture, but if you Google it, you can clearly see the poor pooch with both its front legs in casts.

I had forgotten her poor left behind dog! She just seemed happiest at her animal charity events, of all the things she did. But you’re so right.

LeilaLettuce · 11/06/2024 22:44

I honestly think she’s a woman with no self awareness whatsoever.

That was the other dog! The one she did take with her...

But agree. I believe in Spare Harry claims it ran away from the dog sitter just before Meghan moved to the UK, and he helped care for it. But given the reliability of Harry's claims, who honestly knows what really happened.

I'm not sure that's true -- I think much of her persona was created by Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne (her manager) and Elizabeth Tuke (who ran The Tig.) I think they did the planning for her.

Honestly, she should rehire them. Clearly they they know how to make a silk purse.

Absolutely, at the time of the engagement interview I think it was when she said something along the lines of the dog wouldn’t cope with the flight and that’s why she left him with friends, I couldn’t get my head around the fact she had so much money now that the dog could have been flown over in luxury with a vet in attendance, which is what I would have done for my dog in her position. There was a thread at the time questioning her decision to leave the dog behind and the OP got her arse handed to her, I was with the OP, it was something I could never have done and really made me question her character.

MummyJ12 · 11/06/2024 23:17

@CC49 Meghan and Gina don’t speak. Not since Meghan terminated her contract just before the relationship between Meghan and Harry was made public. (Meghan told Gina that she was giving up her career), Meghan ghosted Gina. Then Gina sold her story/gave an interview to the DM and this was used in Tom Bower’s Revenge so I am pretty sure there’s no going back there! But I think you have an excellent point in that she isn’t surrounding herself with the right people (or she isn’t listening to them!) possibly it’s a case of the people that are really good at their job, don’t want to work with her. She has a reputation now for being difficult and demanding. Whether that’s warranted or not. It was reported in the media today that she is struggling to get anyone on board to work with her on ARO.

Oh my goodness. I had no idea Meghan had someone to run The Tig for her. I only watched a video from it, stuff posted on MN. I just presumed the whole thing was all her idea.

It appears both H&M had people managing their images and their lives. If they’re no longer prepared to take advice from those around them, it’s no wonder they’re struggling so much now. Most of us make mistakes along the way and learn from them. Most aren’t in the spotlight.

If anything, this makes me feel a little more compassion for them and their children in some way as it’s quite sad to be so rudderless because you’ve not learned to adult before.

DelectableMe · 12/06/2024 05:59

Someone ran The Tig for Meghan?
All these posts about how lovely her Dad was?

Thedom · 12/06/2024 07:09

Thats interesting, never heard that name , just googled Elizabeth Tuke, she was publicist for MM from 2014 to 2016, looks like she may have been dropped around same time H&M got together, a few months later she read about M dating H.. Rumours are she wrote The Tig. Wonder if she was invited the wedding.
