That was cringeworthy! They were supposed to be on a coach with Zara etc but 'missed' it and when they eventually rocked up looked dismayed to be in the middle of a row near no one important (except the hot equerry behind them).

There is some irony in that if they were dismayed at sitting with no one important. They were sitting next to Lady Sarah Chatto, who is her generations Lili. Granddaughter, niece and cousin of monarchs, and second child of the ‘spare’. I know she is close to the family but it only takes a generation to become constitutionally irrelevant.

This made me laugh. Her hair is stunning and he could look like her stylist!

@Blueroses99 that would have gone completely over their heads.

FloofPaws · 06/06/2024 22:23

Bloody hell that video shows their cringy shamelessness 🤣 such saddo clowns

I’ve never seen that! Tbh, I don’t really follow them unless there’s I see something on here on the media about them, but they really really wanted to be behind K&W there didn’t they?!

I think they really really wanted to be in front of W and C !!

ItsNotAShopItsAStore · 06/06/2024 22:51

Whoever said they are humourless I think they’re spot on.

I’m watching a YouTube compilation of Greg Davies videos on YouTube, and he did a BRILLIANT song at the Royal Variety the year H&M got married called My Nan Your Nan. It is objectively very funny and I won’t hear any different. I remember watching thinking they look like they’re barely raising a smile, are they tired or something. But the song is about the brilliance of the Queen and I wonder if it hit a nerve. They are, at best, forcing a smile at a very funny and harmless song.

Compared to how Charles and Camilla and William and Kate howl laughing at the RVP, it’s a stark difference to forced smile Harry and Meghan. I especially loved watching the clip of Dame Edna joining Charles on the balcony 🤣 and seeing their reaction

If we are talking about their collective bad manners, my all time favourite moment was them clambering through the chairs at Westminster abbey in order to push ahead in the march out the abbey. Pathetic.

Oh dear cringe ....

Oh dear cringe ....

I guess it just highlights how utterly self-obsessed and oblivious the pair of them are to royal protocol and etiquette.
I would imagine that for the average person one faux pas would be enough to learn pdq yet these two carry on deliberately shoving themselves in the limelight in a forlorn effort to presumably big themselves up.
I wonder how long it will take for them to realise that Meghan in particular is making an ass of the pair of them?

BalloonSlayer · 07/06/2024 06:49

I didn't think Meghan went crashing through chairs in that video, she moved one chair, slightly. I am really not a fan, but come on.

SirChenjins · 07/06/2024 07:09

I don’t think anyone said crashing, did they? I may have missed it though. She was certainly in a hurry to get out behind W&C than exiting at the end of the row!

I think the point is more that they didn’t just walk out at the end of the row. They moved a chair so they could be further forwards in the procession than they would have been if they had just walked to the end of the row and waited. I remember seeing it live and it did look like they were scrambling to get through

typo

DelectableMe · 07/06/2024 07:32

Goodness, have some dignity! Imagine being so worried about your position in a procession!

LaMarschallin · 07/06/2024 08:44

I suppose the seating arrangements would be organised to enable a smooth, seemless procession down the aisle.
We even manage it at our local church without someone trying to nip ahead to get at the best chocolate biscuits to go with their post-service coffee.

Vespanest · 07/06/2024 08:53

I think she was more panicking not to be by Harry’s side, he was the one who instigated the cut through. He just managed to make it look more graceful

Fair point 😊

MaturingCheeseball · 07/06/2024 09:12

Outstanding manoeuvres by the Palace to pen them in at the Jubilee (?) service. H&M thought that by arriving late they’d avoid the middle of the row ploy, but no, the players stood firm and H&M were trapped. Very amusing to think of their gnashing when they were outwitted.

Well yes, but wasn't that the one where the Order of Service was already printed, mentioning W&K in the procession, and H&M were said to have made such a fuss that the senior pair finally took their seats before it started in to calm things down?

It seems to me that they find something to be offended by no matter what, not because there is offence but to buttress their own imagined importance, and unfortunately with such people it doesn't work - start enabling them and, encouraged, they just move onto the next thing

My dear it's just " not on " . It's like the dash to get off a plane first 😂

SilkFloss · 07/06/2024 09:45

I think that they should have exited the row in the "normal" way behind Edward and Sophie but they perhaps thought that would mean they would be behind them in the procession down the aisle so panicked and moved through the chairs in front (who DOES that?????) In actual fact, Edward and Sophie would have got to the end of the row and then stood back to let the Sussexes go before them.

MummyJ12 · 07/06/2024 09:53

Maybe Meghan just really needed a wee….?! 😂

I agree with your first part, but I think that H&M were supposed to be behind E&S when leaving as E&S were working royals and H&M weren’t. The push through the chairs was to make sure H&M weren’t behind them.

ThereAreNoSloesOnThere · 07/06/2024 10:05

I watched the video a few times now and it is jarring. Pushing through the chairs like that was an odd manoeuvre, particularly when you see E&S standing very quietly waiting for William and Kate to pass them before moving out. It's just an odd physical manoeuvre for both H&M I think. if you were being dignified you would not leap through the chairs, but wait your turn. Just IMO though.
