Interesting, @MummyJ12 !
All mine are about the election - the national service proposal especially.
Anyway, we'll see!

LaMarschallin · 26/05/2024 10:44

Thedom

dressing inappropriately with so much skin showing

She certainly didn't dress quite so revealingly during the brief time she was a working royal.
Maybe, now she's apparently acting as a... not sure of the term: "private citizen"? Probably "commoner" won't do?
But, anyway, perhaps she feels it's time to dress in the style she favours, which might include high splits, peek-a-boo cutouts etc

It looked like a screen shot of Apple News, and they tailor your news feed to the stories you actually click on and the topics you follow. But the "most read" ones will still get through - I have mainly election and international politics in my feed, but Nicky Minaj and Formula One have snuck in as well, even though I can't remember ever reading an article about either!

ArcaneWireless · 26/05/2024 10:54

When you have been more than willing to share you’ve rubbed your boaby better with memories of your ma, been off your chomp on various substances and not seen anything wrong with making on you are some sort of military killing machine, then I can’t think what would be so very traumatising in the stigma stakes.

Unless of course some of the more salacious rumours are indeed true?

MummyJ12 · 26/05/2024 10:54

It is Apple News @EdithWeston but I don’t usually click on stories about David Baddiel (or whatever he’s called!) or waspi women….or Nicki Minaj so I don’t know what is going on with my feed this morning!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 26/05/2024 11:13

I found it patronising and insulting that Meghan even considered it appropriate to tell Nigerian women she’s their role model

Like "humanitarian", "environmentalist" and all the rest, that seems to me another of those descriptions that's for others to use rather than the person themselves

I can't imagine the kind of arrogance it would take to describe yourself like this - especially to such an audience - but then I can't imagine behaving as H&M do at all

CoffeeCantata · 26/05/2024 11:17

I wonder why this is not being more widely reported by the media? So much for bias. If it was aimed at a member of the Royal family can you imagine?

Absolutely. It's really frustrating.

When you think of the way W and C's Caribbean tour was treated - due to malicious manipulation and interpretation of the images and incidents. But we know the actual truth doesn't matter.

CremeFresh · 26/05/2024 11:19

With so many awful reports about them , surely they must take note, I don't believe for one minute that they don't read absolutely everything that mentions their names.

DelectableMe · 26/05/2024 11:20

It sounds like arrogant behaviour to me, going to another country and pretty much advising them and presenting yourself as a leader and role model.
As if there aren't thousands of Nigerian women who haven't achieved more than her, starting off with less.

FloofyBear · 26/05/2024 12:19

Thedom · 26/05/2024 10:33

LaMarschallin, I doubt there was any political undertone behind it. I think the first Lady verbalised what the majority were saying about how M treated the visit, dressing inappropriately with so much skin showing and declaring herself a role model for younger female Nigerians.

H&M really are two dopes.

Edited

Harry truly is stupid, I think MM has a little bit more gumption, however she's SOOOOO far up her own arse she can't see what the rest of the world see, a self Serving narc, literally clambering up anyone who can possibly give her some stardust - but that stardust turns to dirt as soon as it touches her.
It's heinous that she's glorifying herself and no doubt selling her princess / female leader (what?!?!) bollox to papers, undermining the female leaders in Nigeria, does she think she's their saviour from the first world to become their leader of women and their best female role model - I'm not surprised the first lady of Nigeria had a lot to say ... I bloody hope they realise that these two Monteshitshow self serving clowns don't represent the actual RF in any way shape form

EdithWeston · 26/05/2024 12:23

I’m not sure why she is chosen to contribute to events on leadership because AFAIK she’s never led anything other than Archewell, which is fairly small. Ditto environmental issues - I can well believe she’s interested, but she has no track record of achievement in that (yet). Perhaps it will grow over time?

DelectableMe · 26/05/2024 12:33

That's one of the most bizarre things, @EdithWeston . Meghan claiming she's a "leader".

I don’t think Megan has got more gumption. The evidence would indicate they are both thick. She must have some sort of say, and the shit she pulls. A brand launch with no product. Laying on the floor crying. Going to be a Dior ambassador Calling their kid lillibet. Shirking the Spotify podcasts. Asking the Nigerians to let her do a leader panel. Doing a book with Scobie and thinking no one would know, lying on Oprah. Having her mates tell the world she’s gonna be present, The list is endless.. the simple conclusion is they are as bad as each other.

I know her mum was giving it she’s really smart on the Netflix doc, but all evidence would show Megan is as lacking as Harry.

ArcaneWireless · 26/05/2024 12:37

The only thing she has led successfully is Harry.

By the knob.

And that could grow over time…

Oh my god and haven't we heard a little too much about that appendage?.🙄

BigWillyLittleTodger · 26/05/2024 12:43

It frustrates me that they claim the evil media print awful stories about them but all I ever see is glowing, fawning reports, the Daily Mail in particular have become super fans for some weird reason.

DelectableMe · 26/05/2024 13:02

That's because the Daily Mail, like other tabloids, are in it for the clicks. They must love H&M because they're proper clickbait. H&M need the tabloids, too. They need the headlines, the pictures, their names constantly out there.
The articles do appear to be supportive, or at least relatively neutral - I think they want the btl comments to build up and get more clicks.

Mylovelygreendress · 26/05/2024 09:48

Again not Nigeria but I see that Defina ( Nacho’s wife) has announced a collaboration with the Duggan Society who sell luxury homeware items !
Given that she and MM are supposed to be besties , I found it surprising that she would work with a competitor .
or am i missing something?

It looks like many of these rich wives all have side hustles. I reckon Meghan is just trying to follow all of this. The thing is she needs more than a side hustle . It all looks so familiar!

@Thedom the stigma is weird, the argument is releasing would be a violation of privacy as there is something in there to be stigmatised about. So instead we will breach his privacy by letting everyone know that there is something in there.

Well, whatever it is, his father the King will know. And if Charles knows, then Camilla and William will likely know. And if William knows, then Catherine will probably know.

I've often wondered where Harry's visceral resentment and hatred of his family members comes from. I think it's because he knows they know that they could actually leak some stigmatising stuff on him, but are currently choosing not to. But Harry acts like they already have done. Hence his living and acting out under a cloud of suspicion and paranoia, far away.

The visa 'secrets' are possibly a combination of A-1 Head-of-State visa status, and a report on drug use and alleged violent acts, and maybe something he did during his time with the army. 'Stigma' has be more than drugs allegations and admissions, I'd have thought. Or I suppose an O-1 'exceptional talent' visa with a note in the file that he hasn't got any talents, but the King asked the new President for a personal favour, would be embarrassing.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 26/05/2024 14:20

I'm not surprised the first lady of Nigeria had a lot to say

In fairness she didn't name Meghan, but even without the media spin the inference was pretty obvious

It's worth remembering that the actual Nigerian government - however corrupt - weren't the ones who invited the couple, and whether they'll wish to do so in future remains to be seen

Edited to add I thoroughly agree with you, AutumnCrow
As with the rest of the RF there's so much we don't know, but they'll know it and the idea that a thorough check wouldn't be done on an incomer is unthinkable

Ummmm

She added: "They should be confident in who they are. They do not need to mimic and emulate film stars from America. They don't know where they come from. Why did Meghan come here looking for Africa? We know who we are. Don't lose who you are."

Puzzledandpissedoff · 26/05/2024 14:25

You're right, AnnieSF, I neglected the bit about Meghan "looking for Africa"

Even more pointed then, and I'd love to see the "everything's based in racism" crowd deal with that one

AnnieSF · 26/05/2024 14:25

While she didn't specifically say Meghan was nekkid it is implied. 😂 we all have 👀👀👀 and saw all the uncomfortable scenes.

AnnieSF · 26/05/2024 14:27

Maybe the First Lady is one of the haterzzz.
