Too true. If it's not caused by jealousy, racism or forelock tugging royals.... what other victimhood can they claim?
Tricky. They'll come up with something though.

Perhaps the pernicious influence of the British tabloid media, so she was 'brainwashed' into criticising Meghan?

I wonder why this is not being more widely reported by the media? So much for bias. If it was aimed at a member of the Royal family can you imagine?

Lelivre · 26/05/2024 08:56

Vespanest · 25/05/2024 22:00

That's pointed. These two, the reactions, the fawning fans, it's so fascinating. I can't stop watching. I wonder what the Ghana thing will bring? Perhaps some more modesty with both the clothing and comments? Or maybe not? Can't wait, I'm hooked and I don't know quite why...My guilty secret.

MummyJ12 · 26/05/2024 08:57

It will bring mockery and they deserve it.

DelectableMe · 26/05/2024 08:57

Could be! Maybe the evil, toxic "British media" (sic). Maybe internalised racism. Maybe misogyny. Maybe not realising that Harry got a smaller bedroom in whatever palace or castle he was living in and no-one ever gave him a break?.

DelectableMe · 26/05/2024 08:58

I can't wait for a "tour" of Ghana! 😂

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 26/05/2024 08:58

I’ve got it.

they will blame the commonwealth!

LaurieLeecountry · 26/05/2024 08:59

I do wonder if the pair of them will even care. They seem to have hides like a rhinoceros. They never seem to learn from past mistakes or listen to advice, just keep on doing what they feel like, regardless.

Yes!! That's it! British Empire 2.0.

Not Nigeria, but ...... According to US government lawyers, releasing Harry's visa documents could bring 'Stigma' to the Prince as it includes law enforcement documents . What the heck has Harry been up to ?

He added that the records contained 'confidential law enforcement tools and techniques'.

It is the first time law enforcement records have been mentioned in connection with the duke's visa case.

And while it is currently unclear what records are being referred to, an LA-based immigration lawyer said last night: 'Law enforcement records could mean the police, FBI, airport police, secret service, military police or even the highway patrol. The word that jumps out is "stigma". It is not a word you would expect to see in a routine visa application.

'It's a highly unusual word not usually seen in cases like this and it begs the question, what is in there that could attach a stigma to Prince Harry's application?

'There is no way of knowing until the records are made public.'

Vespanest · 26/05/2024 09:22

@Thedom the stigma is weird, the argument is releasing would be a violation of privacy as there is something in there to be stigmatised about. So instead we will breach his privacy by letting everyone know that there is something in there.

Isn’t it likely that it’s something from British law enforcement? A caution over carrying weed or something. I doubt it’s anything major

Thedom · 26/05/2024 09:33

Exactly Vespanest, now that 'law enforcement' and 'stigma' have been used as a reason not to release the details to the Judge, I think the pressure will pile on even more.

Mylovelygreendress · 26/05/2024 09:48

Again not Nigeria but I see that Defina ( Nacho’s wife) has announced a collaboration with the Duggan Society who sell luxury homeware items !
Given that she and MM are supposed to be besties , I found it surprising that she would work with a competitor .
or am i missing something?

MaturingCheeseball · 26/05/2024 09:50

Stigma? Cautioned for serial nipple-pinching maybe.

The Nigerian First Lady is quite right. The nerve of turning up and telling the population all that guff. Hmmm, clearly the First Lady is cowed by the Empire and is as forelock-tugging as the rest of us peasants Hmm

Thedom · 26/05/2024 09:57

Whoever the organisation is, who went after access to his visa application, must be rubbing their hands in glee now this information has been disclosed

Smilesy, it could be weed, but would weed cause a 'stigma'. Possibly hard drugs, which is why they went after him in the first place after his disclosures in Spare, , but it was more from the perspective he must have lied on his visa application about drug use.

Now it looks like there is something else that involved law enforcement, rather than lying about drug use on his application.

Tlolljs · 26/05/2024 10:02

I don’t know what stigma concerning law enforcement could be? Not drugs surely he told the world about his drug use in spare.

MaturingCheeseball · 26/05/2024 10:07

Perhaps Harry might understand what it is like now to be on the receiving end of vague allegations. But I don’t think he will.

DelectableMe · 26/05/2024 10:08

He won't. He had spent much of his time complaining about press intrusion and lack of privacy, yet has done exactly the same to his family, for money. He has no self awareness.

It's a bit odd.
I know very little about the government in Nigeria but, as I understand it, General Mousa, the chief of the defence staff, invited Harry and Meghan to Nigeria rather than President Tinubu.
I don't think they met with the president or his wife while they were there and now the First Lady is unmistakably critical of some aspects of the visit in this speech, imo.
I wonder if H&M have been unwittingly caught up in some politicking and the media have been asked not to inflame things?

Appreciate this probably shows my lack of knowledge of Nigerian politics. I know President Tinbu appointed General Mousa so I assume they're allies.

DelectableMe · 26/05/2024 10:27

the media have been asked not to inflame things ?
Unlikely, because we do have a free press, and there's no such thing as "the media" of course, so I'm inclined to think that the election stories are probably dominant at the moment.

LaMarschallin · 26/05/2024 10:29

DelectableMe

Fair point.
That's probably it.

Thedom · 26/05/2024 10:33

LaMarschallin, I doubt there was any political undertone behind it. I think the first Lady verbalised what the majority were saying about how M treated the visit, dressing inappropriately with so much skin showing and declaring herself a role model for younger female Nigerians.

H&M really are two dopes.

MummyJ12 · 26/05/2024 10:36

You have a good point @DelectableMe Although these are my top stories on my phone this morning. Weirdly no mention of the election….the press may pick it up but it seems very odd that there’s no reporting on it at all. Harry and Meghan get a much more favourable press than they’d have anyone believe….

I agree - it must refer to something he has not already told the world about.

And be something that most people would find shameful.

Who knows if it will ever come out
