Just going back to the dodgy man they met in Nigeria - I wonder how that will play out with Netflix? If the main point (from their pov) was to make a film about it, with lots of scenes of them being greeted and adored, what are Netflix going to think about the appearance of this fugitive businessman?

Hmm...

ArcaneWireless · 25/05/2024 22:25

Aye.

Telt.

Bet that is nipping 😂

AliceOlive · 25/05/2024 22:37

@Vespanest 😮

That is the first lady of Nigeria?

'What is Meghan doing in Africa?'

Thedom · 25/05/2024 22:47

@Vespanest

"When the First Lady of Nigeria puts your name, nakedness and ignorance about your identity in the same sentence...'

Wow, good on her, she said publicly what the majority of people were saying. Interesting that she didn't use any of Meghan's royal titles.

We are not having the met gala
We don’t accept nakedness in our culture
They don’t know where they come from.
Why did Meghan come here looking for Africa
We know who we are, don’t lose who you are.

Thedom · 25/05/2024 22:59

The comment 'we know who we are' sounds like a major clap back at Meghan claiming to be a role model for Nigerians.

ArcaneWireless · 26/05/2024 00:05

The Nigerian women know exactly who they are. They don’t need telling. Without even looking like they were trying, they brought their A game.

Unlike those who thought that the women should just be grateful that their country had been claimed for her own.

A few said at the time that the attire for the visit was not in keeping and that there was too much skin on show. More so when meeting schoolchildren.

It seems the First Lady thought the same.

The difference between bringing your A game and, to some, looking more like you are on it.

Gosh she really has irritated the First Lady hasn't she?

Quite right and let's be honest it's been said on here before - what was she showing these young girls in how to be successful? Marry a white guy and be a person who uses sex to take part in programmes and in acting dressed up red carpet style? There are many young women in these type of countries who study hard and progress within the governments and institutions of their own countries. They attain high status within the various departments. These countries are religious and religion plays a huge part in their lives whether it be Church or Mosque.

I’m finding the responses to the First Lady interesting on twitter, from those who view every criticism of Meghan as racist are quite happy to drag the First Lady of Nigeria. Catherine is in for another day of attack tomorrow, it’s the usual tactic to negativity.

DelectableMe · 26/05/2024 06:01

I think it's strange for a rich, privileged aristocrat, living in California going to Nigeria and claim to be a role model and a leader.
The First Lady made good points

It’s not only strange, I found it patronising and insulting that Meghan even considered it appropriate to tell Nigerian women she’s their role model.
Who the heck does she think she is apart from a rich, pseudo-royal who is desperate for attention?

DelectableMe · 26/05/2024 07:01

I know. The lack of self awareness is astonishing. How arrogant. She was a suitcase girl on a game show, had a part in a cable show, married a white prince and now imagines herself as a leader and role model to Africans.

When you put it like that , it hits home how unbelievably arrogant she is .

Always so regal, though:

That was an incredible statement- succinct, sincere and intelligent. A lady with standards, very comfortable in her own identity. She is a role model for young people everywhere
Thanks for sharing.

Bouzy has a couple of pathetic tweets out in the last few hours and the fans are lapping it up. He really is a piece of work. This is one instance where I really wish the rf would sue, but I suppose his comments have been checked by lawyers to ensure it's all 'allegedly'.....

OneHeartySnail · 26/05/2024 08:51

A bit difficult to claim those comments were caused by 'racism', 'jealousy', or 'fore lock tugging monarchists'.

Though no doubt some people will try!

I wonder if Meghan will be visiting 'home' more often?!

Thanks for this link.

She wasn’t impressed at all was she! I wonder if all the fawning superfans will say that she’s just being a racist deranger?!

Such an insightful, intelligent and powerful speech.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 26/05/2024 08:51

Can’t claim racism though can he!

edit: sorry just saw your post @OneHeartySnail and you put it so much better than me!

Of course they can! They will say the First Lady has internalised racism, I expect...

Too true. If it's not caused by jealousy, racism or forelock tugging royals.... what other victimhood can they claim?
Tricky. They'll come up with something though.
